Pointless curiosity really. I read a thread earlier in which the OP had likened Zara to an upmarket Primark and it set me thinking. I do find staple items in Zara and but I'd say a good 60% of my wardrobe is from Topshop and associated brands. Any one else?

OP posts:

Think about it, one of the things I love about Esprit is that you don't look at something and think "that's from Esprit" unlike, say, Boden with their mad prints or Manteray which has a distinct style. It's generally well made, good value (especially in the sale)' good variety and their website is superb with the way it explains how an item fits based on customer feedback.

SoupDragon · 07/04/2016 14:32

Thinking about it.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 07/04/2016 15:24

Topshop. I have been bidding for more expensive stuff on Ebay recently, though - am proudly wearing a secondhand Whistles dress teamed with a Primark cardigan today (classy).

For shoes Topshop does nice boots but horrible flats (mostly - not always), so I tend to get flats from New Look.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 07/04/2016 15:35

TK Maxx online is rapidly emerging as my favourite place to buy shoes, now I think about it.

ExConstance · 07/04/2016 15:43

Another Whistles fan here.

Havalina1 · 07/04/2016 20:36

Anthropologie for clothes, always something I'll obsess over in there.

Jeans - always Gap! The 36" leg when it comes available online is really long.

I loved Selected brand too but have moved and I have found a stockist around here yet.

Anyway I've just had a baby and I'm breastfeeding so I'm massively limited in what I can wear Confused

fredabear · 07/04/2016 20:42

jigsaw is my go-to but I also love whistles, french connection, cos, mango, zara

SuckingEggs · 07/04/2016 22:52

Esprit here, too.

And Whistles, Jaeger, Jigsaw (in sale); Karen Millen at times, too.

polyhymnia · 08/04/2016 00:10

Boden for basics.

SardineJam · 10/04/2016 18:17

M&S (I am always met with shocked expressions when I'm complimented on what I'm wearing and share that it's M&S!) and ASOS own brand

waceystills · 10/04/2016 18:18

Zara - their trousers fit me like a dream.

Karen Millen for work dresses and LK Bennett for shoes.

mowglik · 10/04/2016 18:35

Used to be H&M when I was a student, their clothes fitted me perfectly. Now it's Zara and mint velvet though the sizing is always a bit funny so I always try everything before I buy

chickenowner · 10/04/2016 18:37

I love White Stuff, Seasalt, Fat Face, Boden and Monsoon. :-) Guess I'm a hippy at heart!

bettyberry · 10/04/2016 18:47

I shop mainly at matalan - bras that actually fit my boob shape as well as size. Vest tops are ace especially the ones with wide straps. I live in them with my jeans.

Fat face. They do good wrap dresses and tops that don't make me look upduffed. I quite like their knit wear too. good comfy cardis.

m&s for knickers.

Evans for shoes, boots and tights. Does anyone else love their tight sizing? Grin

I don't have a shop I could go and buy an entire outfit from though. I wish I could. Maybe if i shifted a stone or two I could find something in every shop!

fluffiphlox · 10/04/2016 18:52

Recently Hobbs for work, Banana Republic for casual. But I'm not going to see 50 again. (Or 57 for that matter).

LookAtAllThesePhucksIGive · 10/04/2016 18:54

As a chunky lass my choices are limited.

Yours never lets me down. At least a third cheaper than Evans (which I still use for industrial strength bras and woollen long hooded cardigans).

I've struck lucky with footwear at TKMaxx and the odd top at ASOS Curve. I cannot bear the plus size range in M&S. It all seems boxy and shapeless. I remember a sales assistant informing a customer that no self respecting female would be seen dead in horizontal stripes past a size 12. Size 20 me was stood there in my black jeggings with a grey and black striped hoodie on. :o The customer saw me and went bright red.

228agreenend · 10/04/2016 19:07

Marks and Spencer - unpopular mn's choice but I still love it and can always find something I love

Next - hot or miss

House of Fraser - look online during sales, don't tend to go in store

zara/ h&m - never find anything

Primark - too much stock and I find it a bit bewildering. Men's dept is okay for tall teenage sons

Sainsbury/asda/Tesco - enjoy browsing occasionally and will buy the odd top. Quality varies a lot.

WilmaShakespeare · 10/04/2016 19:49

Love Jigsaw, Hobbs ( for work only), and have found some great Summer dresses at Boden this year.

justkeepongoing · 10/04/2016 19:50

Autograph @ M&S
Jaeger
LK Bennett

DarlingCoffee · 10/04/2016 19:50

Jigsaw for me. I regularly like to audit my clothes but never seem to tire of any Jigsaw purchases and I find the clothes there are generally good quality and don't date

jaykay34 · 10/04/2016 20:17

Debenhams - I never come out of there empty handed. In particular Henry Holland. I have loads of it.

New Look - My friend manages a New Look store so I get a lot of friends and family discounts - not sure if I'd shop in there otherwise. I can usually find something I like though.

Next - Great for simple pieces and work bits. Usually only buy in the sale though.

Ralph Lauren - There's an outlet near me and I get loads of tops, jumpers and shirts from there. It's a bit of a safe bet for me - but very timeless and good for staples.

midsomermurderess · 10/04/2016 20:30

Toast but it is a bit hit and miss these days sadly

MiracletoCome · 10/04/2016 20:50

Next or Gap as they have the tall sections and do a longer length at a reasonable price

cheapandcheerful · 10/04/2016 20:58

TKMaxx!

Mominatrix · 10/04/2016 21:09

J Crew
