Pointless curiosity really. I read a thread earlier in which the OP had likened Zara to an upmarket Primark and it set me thinking. I do find staple items in Zara and but I'd say a good 60% of my wardrobe is from Topshop and associated brands. Any one else?

Asos
Urban outfitters
Hush
Uniqlo
Sometimes Toast when I have £££ to spend, but increasingly finding the sizing odd

Superdry I always find something I love every time. I recently bought a long grey cardigan and worn it over and over. I also like their coats, hoodies, lounge bottoms and jumpers. I don't buy tonnes of clothes anymore but know if I buy from Superdry I'll wear it loads. There's also an outlet store near us with big discounts.

misscockerspaniel · 07/04/2016 09:10

Hobbs and for casual wear, Monsoon.

Piemernator · 07/04/2016 09:20

Any outdoor clothing place like Mountain Warehouse or Millets

When I had to wear suits for work I used to buy them mainly in Jaeger, Austin Reed and M&S. I honestly think my desire to wear only jeans and a t.shirt these days stems from 30 bloody years of having to dress up for work very smartly. I gave away all my LK Bennett heels except two pairs for emergencies. Laughing at needing heels for emergencies but I mean weddings and stuff like that.

Code tedstreat for 20% off Ted Baker at the moment cakeninja

Lexipedia · 07/04/2016 09:50

Only for trousers. I'm New Look shaped. I've tried more expensive places, particularly for work trousers, but New Look always fit.

UhtredRagnorsson · 07/04/2016 10:04

Urban outfitters. Zara. I always get my jeans from H&M though cos their kid ones actually fit me both size wise and (well, almost, they are still a bit long) length wise. And they are super super cheap (my black jeans only cost £7.99). While I do love Zara I can only buy tops and dresses there. I got a fabulous jumpsuit for my xmas party last year and I had to get the legs taken up about a mile. Not doing that again though the jumpsuit is gorgeous.

CakeNinja · 07/04/2016 10:04

Thanks Savage, I saw that, got a couple of things in my basket at the moment!

ItGoesWithoutSaying · 07/04/2016 10:10

Use most high street shops although I guess about 60% or above of my stuff comes from New Look. Like Lexi says, I seem to fit the clothes there. In fact, some of the shop assistants have started chatting to me like an old friend when I go in Blush.

Sparklycat · 07/04/2016 10:14

Most of my wardrobe is primark or TU, I always say that I'd shop in those shops even if I was rich as I always find lots I like there!

Runningupthathill82 · 07/04/2016 10:18

Warehouse for me..

WingsClipped · 07/04/2016 12:06

Banana Republic and Zara. I like the idea of Cos and Other Stories but never seem to find anything I love in there.

vitaminC · 07/04/2016 12:27

Esprit. I've never made a conscious decision - in fact I like to shop around and loving trying on different brands in department stores - but I recently realised that over half my clothes are from Esprit.

The quality is excellent for the price. They do both casual and workwear. And their jeans are great, as they offer half-sizes in waist and several different lengths in most styles!

The other clothes I own are an eclectic mix of everything from H&M to Max Mara.

Biscetti · 07/04/2016 12:32

Mint Velvet, Uniqlo for basics and Zara.

EarlyInTheMourning · 07/04/2016 12:34

Jigsaw
Never regret buying from them

SoupDragon · 07/04/2016 12:36

Esprit. They have such a good variety of styles (and free delivery and free returns!)

SuperFlyHigh · 07/04/2016 13:47

& other stories I love! Also Spanish brand called natura.

Would like to like cos have a couple of bits but it's not me.

I do get the odd gem at top shop find asos a maze, used to like oasis and find whistles nice but too synthetic.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/04/2016 13:50

I hear a lot about Espirit on here but I just don't get it. When I go in, all I see is very ordinary jeans and t-shirts and a lot of viscose. What am I missing?

Savagebeauty · 07/04/2016 13:53

I like Esprit...used to have a massive one but it closed and is now just a concession. They do 36 inch leg jeans and their coats/ jackets are nice.
Brilliant to buy online.

InTheBox · 07/04/2016 14:00

Savagebeauty Are you quite tall? I always find that I roll up my jeans so it looks more like a 'look' than just because they didn't quite reach my ankles Grin

OP posts:
Savagebeauty · 07/04/2016 14:08

Yes I'm six feet tall.
I do roll skinny jeans up, but do like a full length one!! Banana Republic do a 34inch which are OK.

SoupDragon · 07/04/2016 14:08

...What am I missing?

Well, the same could be said about M&S :o

It's just personal taste really. I like that I can order loads in different sizes and send back what I don't like. I also love that I can get 34" long jeans (which is more common now but used to be a total pain!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 07/04/2016 14:13

I realise that the same could be said about any shop. It's just that I see it mentioned a lot on here, and in reality it just doesn't seem to offer very much. It reminds me of White Stuff, Fat Face, Mantaray etc but with fewer natural fibres and more expensive.

It is great when you find somewhere that does jeans that fit well though - I'll give you that! (Mine are M&S) Grin

Snoopydo · 07/04/2016 14:18

I love clothes and fashion but I have never bought a single thing in Zara, Gap or H&M.

Put me in m&s and I would always find something.

I have started using house of Fraser online as they do lots of brands and you can return things easily.

Abecedario · 07/04/2016 14:18

Returnofthewhack I'll hide with you as Dotty P's is my go to too. I can generally always find something that fits, suits and is reasonably priced. I particularly like the Billie and Blossom dresses.

I'd love to be able to shop in the more fashionably 'acceptable' places but I'm not skinny and I just don't seem to be able to pull off their stuff.
