Come and chat about fashion, make up and anything glittery and frivolous. We'll take your bad hair day seriously and you never have to apologise for a new bag Grin

And if you happen to know where I can find comfortable but stylish trainers in kakhi or dark brown you are particularly welcome (Blatant abuse of thread setting up privileges) Wink

What was hard with babies was the physical stuff, as they get older its the emotional stuff that's hard.

Didn't mean to moan...interesting to see how we all sort our families out. At least I get long holidays and can relax a bit when my DCs are off too. I'm lucky.

Off to look at Blazers, it feels like spring.

libertydoddle · 22/03/2016 07:56

You weren't moaning dry!! Now while you are on the blazer hunt can you keep me in mind? I need one too!

I do work but I don't find it harder than not, well maybe a bit than not when they are not here at school. But mostly due to our incredible nanny. Also cleaner and dh does his fair share.

You weren't moaning Dry. I think there's always little spikes for everyone when it's a bit ugh. I couldn't do it all without really good help.

Beautiful weather so nice to see.
I ruined my phone by dropping it in water, ach. So am on limited comms, text and phone calls only on phone.

MarshaBrady · 22/03/2016 08:25

We can go on Spring fashion watch now. First time to wear ballet flats etc

libertydoddle · 22/03/2016 08:48

Morning,

Yes Marsha, feels properly springlike today. Haven't been outside yet am wfh in my dressing gown but it looks nice. Btw you dropped it down the toilet, didn't you? Grin

So sorry about your mil Karcheer, hope your dh is bearing up.

Blair completely understand why you're not ready for dc yet, seems like you're enjoying being just the two of you and no need to rush. Its interesting reading about peoples different home/work setups. Here dh works long hours with lots of travel. I am studying ft and we have nanny/cleaner mon-fri but I do all the planning, coordinating etc. Dh is helpful when here, was really hands on during the baby stage and now does eg morning routine and school run when he can but his work has to take priority so its just kind of taken as a given that I have to be available either do the cc or organise it which is fine.

Dry your spa day sounded lovely. Glad to hear you're out of jail!

Did an outnet order yesterday, mainly just because am writing an essay at home and here to take delivery:

Equipment jumper

espadrilles

jeans

shopafrolic · 22/03/2016 09:28

Nice Mara - so Springlike
Sun shining here too. We are having our fencing done today so I have 3 strapping young men in the garden. Will be leaving for the hospital again later.
Awful scenes from Brussels - just awful :(
Karcheer thinking of you today

OOTD is Equipment check fronted sweater, blue R&B skinnies and Stan Smiths (which still squeak constantly and drive me mad).

shopafrolic · 22/03/2016 09:29

Meant to add - I want a blazer too - have my eye on this one

LinusLovesBretons · 22/03/2016 09:33

Watching the news in horror.

As far as I know my family and friends are safe but my heart is bleeding for my country.

AmberNectarine · 22/03/2016 10:28

dry I wasn't trying to suggest you're moaning - sorry if it came across that way! My way is to always remind myself when I'm grumpy about work/life balance that I'm lucky to afford childcare etc and have the choice, hence the mustn't grumble comment! It's natural to get fed up.

Grim news today. When will we move beyond blowing things up as a substitute for a coherent argument?

QueenC · 22/03/2016 15:58

I was shocked when I heard the Belgium news. So awful.

You definitely weren't moaning dry, it gets to us all some days. Like amber I'm glad that we can afford help (cleaner, gardener) as some people have to work far more hours than me and don't have help.

Can really see you in all those mara. You lot have stolen my sunshine today. It's cold and grey here so back in boots and barbour!

Stokey · 22/03/2016 17:05

Awful about Belgium, thoughts are with you Linus

Babies are a struggle in a different way - I had lovely sofa sleeping indulgent bit with dd1, but with dd2 was completely zonked as she never slept and wouldn't let me put her down. Now dd1 definitely needs me more emotionally.

Great buys Mara, sitting on my hands to not buy the C/E jeans.

If anyone is after tees or sweatshirts, a friend has just set up a new label Wear Kindred. I really like them and have bought the blue leopard tee.

Drywhitethanks · 22/03/2016 17:07

Hey Amber you didn't say anything to make me feel as if I were moaning.

Mara my spa day was wonderful. An annual event with 8 NCT friends whom I love. Missed the last two years due to illnesses. A wonderful reunion, lots of laughs.

So ....I'm now going to shick you all........

Drywhitethanks · 22/03/2016 17:12

these shoes arrived today to go with..

Drywhitethanks · 22/03/2016 17:18

this dress for the wedding on Saturday. They just aren't right, not a great fit and I think the dress just needs a simple court.
Anyway ......they were at the post office in under an hour of arrival......I'm not settling for anything mediocre Smile

shopafrolic · 22/03/2016 17:38

Anyone got a Hush code?

Cranagh · 22/03/2016 18:09

Gorgeous dress, Dry, think you're right about the shoes.

Sad news today.

Liberty, have you looked at Paul Green for trainers? They sell them in Arnotts (a shop you will recall, I am sure!) and I like the look of them.

Great shopping, Mara.

My DH is away Mon-Thurs weekly and I have no, help paid or family , but they are 4 and 7 now so pretty easy and I'm a sahm. Not sure how people manage the school holidays, maybe we'll have to get an au pair whenever I go back to work. Will worry about it when it happens!

That Wear Kindred looks great.

Haven't been shopping much as still paying off the Woolrich coat but ordered this top to wear with skinny jeans. Just for a change.

Cranagh · 22/03/2016 18:11

Shop Hush sent me a code with my top, MARCHSS16 (10% off until 03/04),

shopafrolic · 22/03/2016 18:21

Brilliant - thanks Cranagh

FedupNagging · 22/03/2016 18:52

Karcheer so sorry to hear about mil; my thoughts are with you.

My thoughts also go out to everyone in Belgium - terrible news.

Dry did you get some black courts (from Whistles ?) a while back that would go with the dress? Otherwise how about these shoes that were on the sidebar? I love the colour, or Mint Velvet and Dune have some grey courts which would probably go with.

MarshaBrady · 22/03/2016 19:35

Karcheer so sorry to hear about your mil Thanks I hope you are all as ok as you can be.

Mara I laughed at lunch time reading your post, but I can't log in anymore from my phone so had to chuckle alone. Yes down the loo! But in my defence I wasn't looking at vogue it, it was in my back pocket and fell in. Nothing worse than than that splash clunk!

MarshaBrady · 22/03/2016 19:36

Love the outnet order btw, particularly the floral Equipment. Very pretty.

Drywhitethanks · 22/03/2016 20:14

Fedup I've looked at cobalt shoes with it, but not quite the same blue, kind of kill the dress. I think I'll wear my Whistles suede courts, love them and on KM website they show the dress with black sandals......I have silver sandals but would freeze this Saturday .

What do you fancy from Hush Shop? I like that BR blazer, their quality is good. "Need" classic black or navy.

Drywhitethanks · 22/03/2016 20:15

Marsha that's funny....sorry

AmberNectarine · 22/03/2016 20:24

Ah, come on dry, do the sandals, you can handle it!
