Come and chat about fashion, make up and anything glittery and frivolous. We'll take your bad hair day seriously and you never have to apologise for a new bag Grin

And if you happen to know where I can find comfortable but stylish trainers in kakhi or dark brown you are particularly welcome (Blatant abuse of thread setting up privileges) Wink

love that bracelet queenc it's fab

Dreamqueen · 24/04/2016 13:18

Trying to up my style game for Spain. Wearing denim shirt dress with new balance trainers!!
The sandals I packed gave me blisters yesterday and as I travelled minimal with only 1 hours notice for packing I have no other shoes. Shops here closed on Sunday's.
Upping my style game by wearing bling hoping that detracts from my outfit failure.

That happened to me on holiday Dream, but I forgot my flats!

Really need some work clothes, and have a thing tomorrow, so went into Liberty and bought this top Folk.

There's 30% off atm, but might finish tomorrow, you can do it online though.

Stokey · 24/04/2016 18:12

Blair I think your wardrobe sounds a bit too warm. 29 will be pretty humid. I think fewer jumpers and maybe not Breton's except for travel? The dresses will be good for the evening, but it'll still be very warm. I like skirts when it's humid, midi or maxi are good from AC transitional point of view. I never like jeans or leggings in the heat. Have you got any lightweight trousers or shorts? Sorry don't want to send you into a panic but your packing sounds better for Europe than Asia - never done Japan though!

Hope Dh is better Shop, stressful for you. Like the beach links, making me sad we're not doing a beach holiday this year.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 24/04/2016 18:29

Thanks Stokey and QueenC! You are both right. I started planning this when I read that the average May temps for HK would be about 23 degrees. Seems the actual weather is going to be a bit warmer!

I'm going to take about 10 cotton camis and 6 cotton tees, have added navy cotton shorts to the list. I don't really have any summer skirts that aren't denim, other than one tube maxi, will add that too. I wasn't really thinking of this as a "summer" holiday...

The leggings are to wear on the plane (my harems have got a bit scruffy). In Japan I will just wear dresses, I think. Maybe I don't need jeans at all!

I've never been on such a long holiday before and it's really hard!

Lovely things at JL shop, makes me wish I suited the embroidered flowy pieces. I hope your DH is feeling better.

Marsha that top's really nice, good discount too.

MarshaBrady · 24/04/2016 18:32

Mara I like the sound of that Italian look. I have a thing for socks and style, not that I can do it anymore

QueenC hug for crappy week, but kudos for voguetting it.

Blair I think you could pull that dress off, has it arrived?

Viva how was it??

Blair yes more summery clothes, so jel! I'd love to be going back.

Shop sounds stressful Flowers

libertydoddle · 24/04/2016 18:45

Blair I live in cotton dresses in Asia. I pack jeans almost every time and then never wear them. The humidity makes wearing anything close fitting very uncomfortable.

Marsha that top is lovely.

Marsha I'm collecting the dress from new look on thursday when I go for my manicure - fully expecting it to not fit properly, but if it does I'll be taking it I think!

The weather forecast for the first few days is now dry and only 23 degrees - so annoying. I hope I find it ok - I am very much not a loose clothing person, so was trying to go for things that are "me" because if I just walk around in t-shirts and shorts I'll feel meh. But of course I don't want to be all sweaty if I can help it.

I am thinking though, that I can make do without jeans. And I've got one nice pair of high waisted black shorts that are a bit less "European tourist can't cope with the heat" Grin

Longislandicetee · 24/04/2016 19:39

Cotton is absolutely the only way to go in that heat Blair! Having done heat like that last month and this month I am an expert! Next month I will be in sunny but less hot climes and then I will be less bothered about taking not having cotton but definitely on last month's trip, I didn't take anything with me that wasn't 100% cotton.

QueenC · 24/04/2016 19:58

Lovely top marsha
blair adding in camis and shorts sounds fine. Is dh stressing what to wear or hasn't even thought about it yet?
vegas hope it went well.

Longislandicetee · 24/04/2016 20:39

I had a little spend yesterday...

Hermes bracelet, vintage miu miu bag, jumpsuit and Freya bikini.

Today has been one of those rubbish days where I spent being a party taxi service however, my ray of light was that I have been wearing my new muubaa leather jacket. Dry and others said I should go for the real thing and not bother with pleather and they were spot on so thanks! With my Chloe Paddington bag, R&B biker boots, j crew matchstick jeans and this maje lurex top it was an eclectic look but felt good.

Marsha, lovely top. Love how you have a meeting coming up and feel the need for something new. It's just how you do work buys. Very cool.

Evening hugs out QueenC and MrQueenC.Thanks

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 24/04/2016 22:21

Thanks both Flowers... getting there!

Blingy that outfit sounds fab and so do the buys! I'd love a (vintage or otherwise) miu miu matelasse shoulder bag, a hobo or something, just love that texture. And the hermes bracelet is gorgeous. Will you have to get the jumpsuit taken up? (I would Grin)

Longislandicetee · 24/04/2016 22:35

Thanks Blair we have such similar tastes Grin. I have toyed with getting a Metalassé for years. I only haven't because the hardware is gold and I would struggle to use it often. This one felt like a good alternative plus as it's vintage it was only £300. It's my 3rd vintage this year. I think we can say hello to my new obsession!

libertydoddle · 24/04/2016 22:49

Fabulous buys blingy. Great bag.

I finished in just over 5.5 hours. Not the fastest but I loved it, the atmosphere was amazing and so many people doing it for a good cause. Ive raised a decent amount for my charity so very pleased. Think I'll be shuffling round for a few days and need to book a pedicure!

AmberNectarine · 25/04/2016 07:46

Congratulations Viva, what an achievement. I will enter my name in the ballot for the fifth consecutive year and cross my fingers, because I would love to do it (I just don't want the fundraising pressure - I'd rather do that on my own terms!)

Longislandicetee · 25/04/2016 07:46

Oh wow Vegas, well done! I take my hat off to you.Flowers

shopafrolic · 25/04/2016 08:25

Huge congrats Viva - book yourself a sports massage for tomorrow while you're at it :) What an achievement.

libertydoddle · 25/04/2016 08:39

That's amazing Viva. Very well done.

Thanks all, I had a ballot place but chose to run for a charity, I didn't have a target just had to raise whatever I could.

libertydoddle · 25/04/2016 10:57

Dragons the kakhi puma suedes have just arrived. I LOVE them, great colour, really comfy, look good, excellent price! Thanks again (and do delurk again Wink) Thanks

OP posts:
Dreamqueen · 25/04/2016 11:34

Liberty are the puma big or small fitting please? I'm tempted to order them

dragonsarebest · 25/04/2016 12:35

That's great Liberty! I'm so pleased. Hermes have lost mine somewhere apparently, grrr. Can you tell me, are they more on the green or brown side of khaki? I now have to decide whether to go for the refund or have them send them again, if they're more brown I'll prob go for the refund after the Hermes debacle.
