Come and chat about fashion, make up and anything glittery and frivolous. We'll take your bad hair day seriously and you never have to apologise for a new bag Grin

And if you happen to know where I can find comfortable but stylish trainers in kakhi or dark brown you are particularly welcome (Blatant abuse of thread setting up privileges) Wink

Have fab holidays QueenC & Marsha.

I would be jealous but it's actually lovely here. I'm wearing Hush black Newport dress, black leggings and red gillies. Wore my leather jacket to pop to the post office earlier and was too hot, crazy.

I'm taking the dds to the ballet for the first time this afternoon, a special children's version of Sleeping Beauty. Not sure who's more excited. Have lovely Saturdays MNVers

Drywhitethanks · 02/04/2016 12:23

Kitty blazer looks good wondering whether to try it. Is it v fitted? What's the sizing like?

KittyHello · 02/04/2016 15:41

Dry I've taken some photos for you.

FedupNagging · 02/04/2016 17:05

Needless to say we didn't get home by 9.30 last night so had a slight hangover headache this morning.

Marsha you've probably gone by now, but have a lovely holiday.

Stokey hope your dd's enjoy the ballet.

Nice blazer Kitty - I love the smart jacket/jeans look.

shopafrolic · 02/04/2016 20:00

Blazer looks good Kitty - nice to see you Smile

KittyHello · 02/04/2016 20:56

Drywhitethanks · 02/04/2016 23:00

received Smythson brochure....how lovely to see the gorgeous James Norton modelling for them Smile

shopafrolic · 03/04/2016 12:00

Quiet today.........

HappyGirlNow · 03/04/2016 12:47

Hi everyone! Can I have some help please?

Love this Reiss leather jacket but it's sold out in size 10.. Has anyone seen something similar? Preferably gold hardware...

Stokey · 03/04/2016 13:42

I'm here. Dh had just gone off to the states for a week, missing dd2's 4th birthday and leaving me solo parenting during school holidays.

Still wearing Hush grey cotton jumper with green star for the first time, very happy with it.

How's DF Shop?

I like Massimo dutti for leather Happy. I think Amber & Blair have Whistles ones, sorry on phone so can't link.

Hope the head's better today Fedup!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 03/04/2016 14:19

Hi all. Hope QueenC and Marsha are having lovely holidays.

Stokey how was ballet? That's a shame about your DH, hope you still have a fun week.

Happy I find Reiss comes up large, are you sure an 8 wouldn't be worth a try? Or try and track one down in a store? Yes, as Stokey says I have one from Whistles, it is gorgeous but I'm not sure I've ever seen them do gold hardware.

Finally made my mind up on trainers yesterday and did a couple of orders for holiday. Went for these Stans but from Asos as I get 10% off and VIP, plus these sandals which are a blatant rip off of some Sam Edelman ones, but I can never bring myself to spend on fun sandals. And some trainer socks and Wolford tights (got a good deal here if anyone likes Wolford for work etc).

I ordered a 6 in the Stans as I tend to have to size up for trainers (I'm a 5), has anyone else found this? Really hope they're right as I'm away with work all week, but getting them delivered to DH's work so I can try them on Friday night Grin

Drywhitethanks · 03/04/2016 17:20

Gah....just lost long post.

Blair love the red sandals and Stans. I wear mine lots, love them.

Stokey that's tough for you, hope you'll be ok Smile

Ootd.....on a lovely, sunny spring day....it was socks off ladies Grin

Stone biker old faithful Oasis, CPW in minus figures, goes with everything
Black Gap merino sweater
Jimmies
Leopard pointy flats
MN scarf
Chocolate Fossil cross body bag

Felt good, felt very me.

Blazer update......

Drywhitethanks · 03/04/2016 17:28

Yesterday I tried, liked and bought this one .....great fit on me and tried the whole blazer look at home.
Would prefer wool though.......so have ordered

Drywhitethanks · 03/04/2016 17:34

this one that my personal stylist Shop recommended to compare. Find BR pretty hard wearing and goid quality so I'm hopeful.

shopafrolic · 03/04/2016 19:37

Glad you ordered Dry - report back
My Outnet order is weirdly due Tuesday - not sure why so late - a top may have snuck in with the HL blazer too
Happy not much time to search at the moment but will keep my eyes open

So I was at hospital today visiting DF. Got a call from DH "erm.... nothing to worry about but could you come home as DS has had a nasty accident on his bike". RAN out of hospital at full pelt and drove home like a nutter. He had launched himself over his handlebars (wearing helmet thank God) and landed head first on gravel. Tiny but deep cut on his head which after an hour was still bleeding so headed to urgent Care and he has been glued and steri stripped. I am spending way too much time in hospitals at the moment.
My parent's home is being assessed tomorrow in preparation for my Dad coming home but no idea when as yet. Am hoping it is before I leave for Tenerife or after I get back but will likely be while I am away.

Amber how's tricks? Thinking of you x

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 03/04/2016 21:08

Oh shop so glad to hear that your DF will be going home, but oh no about your DS! Hope he is ok and that you can get some r+r on holiday, you really deserve it Flowers

HappyGirlNow · 03/04/2016 21:23

Thanks shop

stokey good shout re Massimo Dutti - nothing quite right at the mo but def somewhere to keep an eye on! Lovely jackets!

blair thank you - I will try the stores and if not will order the 8 to try..

KittyHello · 03/04/2016 21:33

Oh my goodness Shop poor ds, hope he is okay now, good news re: df coming home finger crossed it's before the end of this week so you can relax on your holidays, I don't think a holiday has ever been so much deserved as your one will be Flowers

Talking of blood, my dc had a squabble on the dodgems today which resulted on one of them having a nose bleed, they both wanted to be chiefs and wouldn't let the other steer, kept going round in circles and as as a result one of them banged their nose on the steering wheel, , all okay now though. Damn feisty kids Hmm

Looking forward to hearing about the BR blazer dry hope it's a great fit as well. If I wear mine a lot this spring I may invest in a good one next year. Good ootd.

Have ordered a couple of tops this looks much better irl and
this one too spotted them at Bluewater but couldn't try them on as had dh and dc with me.

I tried this on khaki breton looked meh on me, you have this don't you Lib? I really wanted to like it but it didn't me, ditto this too khaki breton I wanted to wear them with Dune/sand colour bistro trousers for work. Think the khaki tops might be better though.

Longislandicetee · 04/04/2016 10:54

Morning all! Poor you Shop, but didn't realise that your df was coming home do that's good news. Thanks

I am trying to sort out 2 birthday parties, a holiday and a weekend away today. Oh and I have simultaneous play dates for the dcs. I don't hold out much hope for anything getting done!Hmm

Fashion wise, after 2 weeks on holiday, i managed to stay off the click button but I feel like a right fatty so don't feel the need to buy anything anyway!

Hope everyone is having a good Monday!Smile

libertydoddle · 04/04/2016 10:58

I really like both of those tops you have ordered Kitty. Let me know what you think of the Jigsaw linen one in particular. I have the second of the Bretons you linked, the one with the contrast seam down the back. Shame it didn't work for you.

I bought this Aztec pattern biker in River Island this weekend. It's a great fit and I really like it but would appreciate opinions.

I'm going through one of those phases where being diagnosed 'autumn' is really annoying me. I can see those colours suit me which makes me reluctant to spend money on non autumn coloured clothes but I feel my wardrobe is full of green atm and the colours are hard to put together. I miss the ease of just slinging on black trousers and a grey or black top and feeling like I look chic.

Afternoon!

Just got back home last night after a holiday where both DS and I had the flu.

Only upside is that this is the first time that I've come back from holiday having lost weight as I normally put on at least 1 kg Hmm

shop glad to hear your DF can come home and ouch for DS.

amber I've been thinking a lot about you (((hugs)))

Off to try and catch up on all the news and links.

AmberNectarine · 04/04/2016 13:26

Hello all

Thanks for good wishes - I'm ok! Haven't been buying much as it's DH's birthday soon and have spent a fortune on him he'd better appreciate it. Did have a little splurge on Charlotte Tilbury make up (love the stuff though I know it polarises opinion) and I picked up some Waven distressed skinnies which I haven't taken off since I bought them - really hold their shape and a flattering fit.

Back to work tomorrow after being off since Good Friday - boooo!

FedupNagging · 04/04/2016 13:31

Welcome back Linus - every cloud and all that!

Nice biker jacket Lib - that's such a flattering style I find. It will look good with your leather skirt I should think as well as with trousers.

Kitty like the linen V neck from Jigsaw - have you ordered it? Be interested to see how deep the V is as I love linen t's. The bretons are nice too so shame they didn't look right - maybe you need to try a brighter colour?

Shop pleased to hear your df is coming home soon - will your dm be able to cope? How is ds and his war wound today? I think you so need your holiday!

I have no fashion news whatsoever - although now added a navy blazer to my list. I have a navy Wallis jacket which I used to wear to work but don't really like it. I need a navy blazer in exactly the same style as my Gap herringbone jacket which I wear a lot.

SoyYo · 04/04/2016 15:42

Happy for leather jackets I love Muubaa and own 4 of theirs (2 black, 1 pink, 1 dark brown suede), worth looking at their website as there are always some on sale like this although none of their styles seem to have gold hardware. Anyway, I highly recommend for buttery soft leather lusciousness!

On blazers, I really like this Uniglo blazer very slim flattering fit, and it's a bargain, wool mix too but super light and looks more expensive on that it looks. I haven't worn it yet but came with a recent Ines Uniglo order I placed and definitely a keeper for me.

Kitty I like the khaki T shirt, very similar to this I got in the green colour which is Khaki actually, very nice quality and good fit without clinginess

Talking of hols, later in April off with DH to Spain, we have a house there near my Spanish family (Denia area, between Valencia & Alicante) so very much looking forward to the week away, and like Blair hope to be doing lots of walking so bit the bullet as I am not at all a trainer girl and ordered some silver Superga trainers with 20% discount, they are a wide fit so I hope they will be comfortable for lots of walking about, they look OK and summery so will keep. Was also tempted by some Toms lace espadrilles in Office sale here so ordered and we will see what they feeland look like when they arrive, as my 23 old DS wears Toms it might not be "me" at all but they do look super comfy.

Greetings to all!! Sorry I am not very good at keeping up with the thread but I do enjoy catching up with your news Smile
