Blush Linus fair dos. Should have said wrap dress Smile

maradesbois · 09/03/2016 18:39

Oh no Linus hope you're all feeling better soon.

Shop me too! The house is amazing.

Lara/Marsha have never set foot in Westfield, really don't see the attraction of a big mall in London. I spent a day at the Dubai one where they have kidzania too and that was enough even though I understand why they do it there because of the heat.

Lib looking forward to hearing about your (huge) uniqlo order.

LinusLovesBretons · 09/03/2016 19:05

shop I can't really see you in a wrap dress tbf but the one you have really suits you when you're on holiday.

I read somewhere the BBC is being critisised for paying £££ to rent that whole property. Forgot who it belongs to, some minister?

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 09/03/2016 19:39

Linus hope you're all recovering well. I think we all need it to be spring, both for health and shopping purposes!

mara I am ok thanks. Just had a bit of a setback a few weeks ago where I was feeling very tired again and it's only now slowly lifting. Hope college is going well, a gossip session with classmates sounds just the thing Grin

Thanks all for dress feedback. I don't love any of them Hmm so wondering if I should instead wait for a nice Julian to pop up on the outnet? I just really want one for holiday as I know they travel well. I should have got one before now as I know it'll suit me loads.

QueenC you're right, I don't really wear pink, even though it's a 100% ** colour for me. I meant to say, my planned holiday wardrobe is navy/black/grey/white and bright red and turquoise, so none of these dresses would even fit in. Sigh.

Lib looking forward to the Uniqlo verdict :)

shopafrolic · 09/03/2016 19:45

Linus what was the name of that DvF style? Can you remember? I've lost the Pin.....it's a fab shape and length but wrap dresses are too classic and feminine for me I think.
Would love to know who owns that property. Bet it was fun researching locations. I like the bad guys girlfriend's style. She reminds me of Tilda Swinton.

QueenC · 09/03/2016 20:44

Sorry you've both been under the weather mara and linus.
blair didn't realise that pink was one of your best colours. I find pink tricky to wear. Love it for shoes and bags though (and lippy and nails!). Id say if you don't love them don't get one.
shop I don't own one. I have a black wrap dress from coast that I wore loads when Dh first got his job and I used to have panics about what to wear to dinner parties etc as it makes me feel very grown up. I'm more comfortable in my style now though and so rarely wear it.

FedupNagging · 09/03/2016 20:51

I went to Westfield once about 18m ago and vowed never to go again - over crowded, noisy, couldn't find anywhere to eat that had free tables and don't even get me started on the amount of times my ankles were rammed by pushchairs! yes, I am aware I sound like Victor Meldrew

Anyway, onto nicer thoughts - Blair, lovely collection of dresses, the 2 pink ones are my favourite, and the blue spot. I don't own a DVF either Shop; I keep trying them on but must be the only person a wrap dress doesn't flatter.

Linus I noticed you'd been very quiet - hope you feel better soon.

Lara apart from the Ab Fab premiere, where would one where an outfit like that?!

MarshaBrady · 09/03/2016 20:57

Westfield isn't for me either. I prefer Liberty, a nice street or online any day.

justasecond · 09/03/2016 21:15

Just catching up
I enjoyed looking at those pics from paris fashion week. How on earth is this woman walking in that slippy combo of mules and tights??
I like all those dresses Blair not as keen on the black and white one though.

I can't believe you all hate westfield, I love it! without the dc though and on a weekday.
I have just caught up with the Night Manager, he is very good looking but I can't help thinking he looks like he might have cold fingers.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 09/03/2016 21:31

Well I just went back on Matches and a search for "Julian" yielded this surprise beauty which I have ordered Grin. Cheaper than with the code, and the right colour, hopefully it'll be perfect! Not sure what I'll do if wrap dresses don't suit me!

I've only been to Westfield once. I really prefer shopping online these days.

justa whoa! that does look really slippery.

QueenC · 09/03/2016 21:52

Fab blair.
I went to Westfield once to go to Tiffanys. Didn't like it much though.

justasecond · 09/03/2016 22:22

good find Blair I love that colour

Stokey · 09/03/2016 22:44

That one's lovely Blair, I also liked the navy floral. I have a couple but need to wear a cami under. Actually the shop off Bond Street is pretty good and has the same prices as Matches. I got one of one from there and one from eBay. It was the 40th anniversary of the wrap dress year before last and I read quite a few articles about her. Her story is pretty cool.

libertydoddle · 09/03/2016 23:41

Sorry to hear about all the colds and flu. Wrap up warm everyone!

Uniqlo order update....

Lemaire seersucker top. I ordered this in red, blue and off white it was late at night ok The fabric is lovely and the colours are lovely but it's just too unstructured for me...I think.... I am v v tempted to keep the blue for tucking into skirts, I don't think I'd wear it loose...need to sleep on it.

Seersucker dress in blue - I look like a sack of spuds in this, back it goes.

Seersucker trousers again in blue these are nice but very high waisted and even when hoicked right up there is too much material around the crotch.

Ines olive trousers The fabric in these is lovely and the cut of the legs is very flattering but they are weirdly low cut at the back so give me a builders bum Grin

Navy trousers love these. Definite keepers - great recommendation Justa.

Ines navy shirt dress LOVE this, love it. The fabric is lovely, it's lined, it has pockets, feels all swishy and elegant. Another keeper.

Down jacket in dark brown also keeping this. Very snuggly. Will be great for walks on cold days.

Not doing well at my ten items Smile. I don't count the down jacket as that is active / sport wear the great thing about this challenge is that I set the rules. But the trousers and dress mean I am on 5 things already and it's only early March. I may need to revise the target. I bought over 60 items last year so even sticking to 15 - 20 this year would be an improvement.

libertydoddle · 09/03/2016 23:41

Really lovely DVF dress Blair. Good choice.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 10/03/2016 00:41

lovely dress blair hope it suits

love that shirt dress lib

I have a stomach bug right now and could cry from hunger, I havent kept any food or even my medicines down since monday lunchtime so feeling sorry for myself right now and so so looking forward to having something to eat once the bug has passed

love to all

LinusLovesBretons · 10/03/2016 05:18

Morning!

That shirt dress is lovely lib!

When I read seersucker I was imagining the crinkly blue and white fabric and not what you linked from Uniqlo.

Is it weird that I'm all excited to be going to a city where they have a Uniqlo in three weeks time? I just love their basics, especially their loungewear. Grin

Love the colour of that wrap dress blair, I think the style will suit you.

shop I can't find that pin anymore either but the dress is an old model they don't make anymore I think.

I went to Westfield just before out MU and had a glass of champagne there for some Dutch courage.

I quite liked it but it wasn't busy at that time of day. And where I live we have very limited shopping options so I'm easily impressed.

one staying hydrated is most important now! Hope you feel better soon!

FedupNagging · 10/03/2016 08:08

Crikey Linus you're up early!

Blair gorgeous dress, great find.

Lib Great Uniqlo haul. Can definitely see you in the shirt dress. I'd flagged up the seersucker dress as a possibility for me but not so sure now.

Ootd is the jeans and jumper (gap burgundy) and large multi coloured scarf. My day consists of boring jobs but am out tonight so will up my game later.

Anyone? Amber Wink

FedupNagging · 10/03/2016 08:14

Feel better soon One, look after yourself.

AmberNectarine · 10/03/2016 08:23

That's lovely blair - I have 3 DVF dresses and a wrap top (oh and a bag). They came from Yoox, Question Air, Selfridges and the DVF sample sale (this is AMAZING - a friend who works at Vogue got me in). We have a DVF shop in the village which I like but have never bought from.

I ordered a dress from Boden which is very nice but have had to return for the 6 as the top was gaping a bit and annoying me - will link when it arrives.

My Dolce shoes should be here tomorrow. I am excited about these - hope they fit and aren't too crippling.

Get well to all poorly people - I have noticed an unbelievable change in my immune system since I got into my fitness - I haven't even had a cold. Maybe coincidental but it's motivation enough for me!

LinusLovesBretons · 10/03/2016 10:16

I'm on CET fedup Wink

I was still up fairly early though as DH woke me up 45 minutes before my alarm goes off. Angry

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 10/03/2016 10:45

Thanks everyone! This will be my third DVF dress - I love how the fitted dresses are cut, so fingers crossed the wrap style is as good for me. DVF sample sale sounds amazing Amber Envy

One that sounds horrible. What about soup, like cup a soup? Flowers

Lib pretty good rate of success at Uniqlo! I love the shirt dress, I think they are a very RC item :) I always think the down jackets look good too, they look neat and not too bulky. On the downside Uniqlo seem to have stopped doing their Silk range.

Amber that is really good about your immune system. I keep saying this, but when the clocks go forward, I'm going to start running again. I think I got unlucky last time with getting ill just after I decided to get fit last year!

I am going cold turkey on lip balm at the moment because of this. I'm not addicted at the moment, but I was a few years ago and I cut back to Vaseline twice a day. But I think my lips might be ruined forever :( DH never uses balm and he has very soft lips so that's my goal...

Shop how are you? Flowers

Ponymagic · 10/03/2016 10:46

Morning ladies. Thanks for your votes on Mini Marcie colour. Decision finally made .... the nut is going back and I'm keeping the grey. There was much procrastination on my part but I have reached the conclusion that the grey has the edge on looks, will go with loads over the summer (and for what it doesn't work with I have pale pink and navy bags to fill the gap) and I do need to replace my tan bag but would prefer to replace it with so,or thing bigger than the Mini Marcie. Great advice from you guys .... and especially to try it with different jackets etc!

Now I need to find the perfect tan bag! Grin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 10/03/2016 11:36

One there are lots of McQ bracelets on the outnet if you need a little pick me up :) x

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 10/03/2016 11:43

oh, thank you for letting me know blair Smile
