I love the DM chelsea boots, I want a pair myself at some point. I find Dms really comfy once they are broken in and they are good for me to walk in as the weight of them helps me keep my balance.

I didn't buy much for A/W, i think the only thing i haven't worn much is a thick cardigan because it's been too cold to wear on its own but it's too bulky to go under my coat

BerniceBobsHerHair · 02/03/2016 16:17

Something about cardigans then - we need QueenC to do a cardigan tutorial Grin

Marsha I admire your shopping style.

Lib I have a black leather knee length skirt and don't get a lot of wear out mine either. Have only worn it on nights' out. Think like you say it is a classic that should stay in our wardrobes for a long time though.

shopafrolic · 02/03/2016 17:42

LOL at cardigan tutorial Bernice
I've been watching all the videos on The Dressing Room website with core edits for Spring. I want to go in and do a big denim try on. They have some cropped boot cuts - tempting but not sure if I could carry them off......
Need to go back and get the emerald AV top anyway.
Can anyone find me black trousers like these please No idea where to start.

shopafrolic · 02/03/2016 17:43

Ideally £100 max

libertydoddle · 02/03/2016 19:03

SoyYo · 02/03/2016 20:43

Hello again My East sale purchases arrived (I linked earlier when I rejoined) and they are all keepers, I knew the linen/lace tops would be as I already had the black version but the red one you liked Fedup is really fab nice details and a red best described as faded rapsberry.
The long black cardie looks "meh" on the website but good soft drapey quality and will be useful for dresses and trousers and has lace detail (subtle) in the back.
Now I just need Spring to arrive! One can hope

I'm on economy drive as we keep planning our future and bought a house in Spain last year that needed some TLC (now done) so will not be spending lots and I'm Blush @ bulging wardrobe despite best efforts to purge it

Finally for shop I thought the trousers you linked were similar to some Boden trousers I bought in the sale a while ago, but navy blue rather than black. Still they are lined and fair quality :

Sorry if link doesn't work using new phone

I enjoy reading your posts!

Drywhitethanks · 02/03/2016 21:54

It was an excellent question Shop , I think I did OK A/W. I haven't worn the Warehouse plum lace shift dress that Amber has but only because I haven't had an occasion to wear it, love it.

shop have a look at HOF as they will have loads of black trousers. Or John Lewis.
bernice sadly I only really wear crew neck short cardis. I can't do long ones as they make my arse look huge. The problem with long thick ones is that they can't be worn under a coat so it needs to be not too cold but equally not too hot to wear it. I can't even remember what the autumn was like but I didn't get to wear my furry gilet much because of the un-optimal temperatures. And I think laura f said that her dress was valentino. Talking of LF did anyone see her new gucci loafers. Thoughts? I personally hate them

AmberNectarine · 02/03/2016 22:47

I so nearly ordered those the other day!

justasecond · 02/03/2016 22:51

Hi everyone!
lots of links to catch up on
welcome back soyo
Shop I got these trousers from uniqlo and they are ace and a bargain. No front pleat like the ones in the pic though.

Great trousers Lara jealous of your nap codes!
Marsha hope you have a fab time
Lib welcome back, that was a lovely skirt.
Shame about that whistles dress Bernice it was my fave of them all.

In answer to your question shop, I haven't worn a navy blue coat I got from m&s autograph very often, maybe only once a week since I got it. I think because the navy is not a dark as I would like.

QueenC · 03/03/2016 07:24

Oops sorry amber Blush

AmberNectarine · 03/03/2016 08:13

Ah, don't worry about it - I know I have marmite taste!

BerniceBobsHerHair · 03/03/2016 13:03

I really like that print on the Gucci loafers but not particularly keen on the shape.

I like those trousers Justa - how do you find the sizing?

Shop this wasn't in your brief but I do like these boden trousers

MarshaBrady · 03/03/2016 13:16

Good evening, I'm on my own for the first time this trip and I'm in the roof top hotel bar and restaurant. Can't afford the food on my measly budget, except soup and a couple of glasses of wine. I really should go for a walk to find something to eat - but I'm finding it hard to move!

Ah thanks so much for the lovely comments Thanks you made my day when it really helped

Miss you all, back on the weekend - really looking forward to that.

shopafrolic · 03/03/2016 13:54

I've ordered the Whistles (with the 25% off code) and the Uniqlo trousers to try - thanks for all the links everyone - I don't get on with the way Boden fits historically so will see how these go first.... Feeling lousy - I think a week with sick DS has finally caught up with me. :(

SoyYo · 03/03/2016 15:10

marsha I know all about staying in hotels in strange cities, the novelty soon wears off despite the 5* facilities and business travel perks. I usually go for room service (even if just a salad) if I don't feel like venturing out on my own and no socialising work dinners on agenda. Wishing you a safe journey home Flowers

shop funny thing with Boden I find their trousers in general suit my shape (except for Bistros) possibly because I've narrow hips and I'm bum challenged? But sizing is still inconsistent...hope the ones you ordered fit
Was it your DH that came from Norwich?

SoyYo · 03/03/2016 15:14

shop meant to add take care and take it easy if you're not feeling great

QueenC · 03/03/2016 16:00

Not long left now marsha. Hang in there.

Can anyone recommend a brand of lip gloss or sheer lipstick? Preferably a counter where I can try on. I really like the colours of bobbi brown lip gloss but find them a bit sticky and my hsir sticks to them.

shopafrolic · 03/03/2016 16:10

Yes SoyYo DH is a Norfolk boy. Why do you ask?

shopafrolic · 03/03/2016 16:22

I love this Lancôme gloss QueenC but my hair sticks to most glosses TBH

SoyYo · 03/03/2016 16:26

shop I thought so...no reason I just remembered talking about Norfolk and my love of the North Norfolk coast with you in MNV thread around 2014, at least I thought it was you but wasn't 100% sure

SoyYo · 03/03/2016 16:31

Sorry I can be a bit random at times...Wink

On the lip gloss question I rate Clinique long last glosswear I have 2 or 3 and less sticky more moisturising than Lancôme if that helps at all

libertydoddle · 03/03/2016 16:38

I don't use lip gloss as I really hate the hair sticking thing. Clinque chubby sticks are good for sheer colour.
