Feeling a bit sick of winter clothes? Looking forward to Spring Summer? Dry (and not-so-dry) January is over. Come and join us for fashion links and more. It's friendly here. Smile

Stokey I'd wear black to anything. Have worn it for weddings but with bright statement accessories. Green is considered bad luck traditionally but I've worn that too to my SIL's wedding

Off to check Oscar dresses

Evening, no time to catch up on the whole thread.
Love that BR dress Stokey, I have worn black to weddings but as Dry says with coloured accessories.
Picked this blue cardigan up in Zara today. Not tried it on yet but thought it was a nice colour and would be good for casual with at shirt and skinnies.
Also ordered these Superstars. They have been on my ASOS saved list for ages and now have 20% off so I thought I'd see what they were like in the flesh.

QueenC · 29/02/2016 21:43

stokey ive worn black to weddings before and think it's fine but does need some sort of colour added. It's a gorgeous dress.
dry I don't do gold so no idea where to recommend im afraid. Most of my jewellery comes from tiffanys or links of london.

QueenC · 29/02/2016 21:43

Nice cardi vegas

Longislandicetee · 29/02/2016 21:55

Dry what kind of pendant?

Today, I wore my Austin reed trouser suit, which is rare but pared it with this Tory Burch polka dot silk blouse. I bought it 6 months ago, decided I was returning it because I was worried it looked frumpy but never did. Have started wearing it recently and love it.

Big delivery of the day was my vintage Chloe Paddington. Very happy to have finally got my hands on one!! I love it though not as much as Roxanne or the Antigona (which is what used today). I need to put the credit card away!Blush

Stokey, love that RM/BR dress. That was the best ever high street collaboration. I have 4 RM dresses but the Banana Republic versions are fantastic.

FedupNagging · 29/02/2016 22:14

Stokey yes to black at weddings but I think some colour needs to be added. Love the Biba dress.

That's a pretty decent goody bag Shop. I guess you can keep the flip flops as spares or around the house.

Yet another lovely bag Blingy

How about Monica Vinader Dry?

Drywhitethanks · 29/02/2016 23:05

I like MV Fedup but need to be certain the gold wouldn't come off.

Hello lovelies, quiet on here today :) hope everyone is doing ok, I am recovering from a cold so have been lying low for a bit.

I've just broken a longish spell without shopping with this dress for my holiday (I did also buy a red pashmina from this site, will report back when it arrives).

Dry you might have to get something custom made if you want solid gold. It sounds lovely, I have a similar thing from Stella and Dot which goes with lots.

Blingy glad the Paddington has arrived and is nice! Any more bags on order or is that it? :)

Marsha hope you're having a fab time, and also Lib, you must be back soon? :(

I am on the hunt for a DVF silk wrap dress, but I don't like any of the current season patterns. Woe is me. Can anyone comment on sizing please - Stokey?

shopafrolic · 01/03/2016 19:39

Evening all. Can't stop thinking about an emerald green American Vintage top that I tried on at the Dressing Room. Might have to go back tomorrow if DS makes it back to school. Also tried on a gorgeous necklace. I have £30 loyalty to spend so we'll see. Pic looks shit but it is lovely....

shopafrolic · 01/03/2016 19:43

That is a crap pic. The chain is black. There is a silver and a matte gold feather and a gem stone.

shopafrolic · 01/03/2016 21:07

I have a Vogue question.
What is the one item you bought for AW that you haven't worn as much as you thought you would?
here's mine

Drywhitethanks · 01/03/2016 21:35

Blair that's a great idea. I had my gold bangle made by a local jeweller years ago, so I know a craftsman. Really need to get my birthday list started so DH doesn't go off piste again.....

Shit question or is everyone out?

MarshaBrady · 02/03/2016 01:06

Morning - glorious day in Taipei, 22 and sunny. Luckily some browsing time. Back to HK tonight, different vibe.

Shop hmm lets see, finding it hard to remember what I bought - the top good things were acne skinnies, rag & bone boots, Marant boots and Marant Fiji jumper and coat. Oh dear I think everything was good!

libertydoddle · 02/03/2016 07:05

Sounds good Marsha! Hope you has fun browsing.

It's a good question shop. I was recovering from jet lag yesterday. Feel much more with it this morning. Will review my pin board and come back to you.

libertydoddle · 02/03/2016 07:05

Had not has!!! Clearly not as over jet lag as I thought!!!!

libertydoddle · 02/03/2016 07:12

Answer: dark brown leather A-line M&S skirt. Not sure why. I love it. But I find it tricky to decide on footwear with it and worry about getting it wet! Also doesn't feel right for work and OTT for casual wear. That said I think it's a classic so hopefully the CPW will come down over time.

AmberNectarine · 02/03/2016 07:56

Mine was the Dr Martens Chelsea boots i bought. They're just too clumpy for my legs and make me look like a duck. To eBay they go!

QueenC · 02/03/2016 08:26

Envy of marsha. It's hailing here. And dark. About to put on my waterproof trousers and wellies to walk to work. Oh the glamour.
shop mine was a grey blouse. Love it but I just don't reach for it when ive got so many lovely navy blouses.

Wearing something slighlty different today-a black blouse and fuschia cardi. Think it looks ok. Also jeans. Despite saying I woukdnt wear jeans to work if I have to wear my black cords anymore I may cry. I just want it even a teeny bit warmer (and drier) to wear trousers and shoes.

FedupNagging · 02/03/2016 09:52

Gah, have just lost a long post. Will try to remember everything Confused

Marsha sounds lovely

Lib welcome home

Shop did you decided whether or not to keep the white top?

I think the only item from this winter I dont wear much is this jumper. I think it's the cable knit that's putting me off as I love the colour - I think I prefer a plain knit.

This Zara check shirt from last winter is definitely an item I rarely wear (once this winter).

It's really sunny but cold here so ootd is black indi & cold skinnies and as usual my jaeger polo neck in light grey. Am still unwell so cba! Am meant to be out this evening so if I go, I will up my game probably

shopafrolic · 02/03/2016 10:50

Yup - keeping the white top.
Marsha your shopping this season has been perfect

Stokey · 02/03/2016 11:12

I have that Zara shirt Fedup and wear it quite a bit. I've worn my coated jeans less than I thought, mainly because they're a bit snug. I also keep trying on this Hush purple dress but it's not quite right on me. It's longer at the back than the front and makes me look a bit squat.

Hope you're feeling better Fedup & Blair. I was at the osteopath today and she was recommending immune boosting vitamins & omega 3 supplements to help counter constant colds.

Welcome back Lib, hope you had a nice time.

Larastheme · 02/03/2016 12:29

Have worn everything I bought for AW loads,

Made my first SS purchase today, trackies, Wink , have used the NAP code I received this week, its the second one in two weeks!

BerniceBobsHerHair · 02/03/2016 12:51

Hi,
Thanks for your advice on the dresses and Blingy for your lovely comments (not how I see myself at all but nice to read Blush). Mara I did laugh at your description of the Boden dress. I think you are right though it is a nicely made dress with a lovely heavy fabric. The print and colour do nothing for me though so it went back.

I had high hopes for the Whistles one but had to size down as it was the last one. Sadly it was definitely too small, so tight on my ribcage so not something I could do anything about. Great dress though.

Top marks to Boden and Asos for delivery, still waiting on the Me and Em dresses, and also Oxfam though I can't complain seeing as they are a charity!

Stokey I think the Me and Em dresses would look good on you. I think they might be a bit short on me, I don't like to go higher than knee length. I like your Biba dress and the All Saints dress for your wedding, not so keen on the Roland Mouret, seems a bit worky.

Thanks for the links QC, lovely dresses but I think a bit casual for the wedding.

Good question Shop and I didn't answer your earlier one either I had a look at my AW purchases and actually wore most of them. My one that I haven't and has ended up as a lounging at home thing as predicted by Stokey is my Woolovers long cardigan. What is it with long cardigans?? maybe the weather has been too cold? I do love your All Saints one but I wonder if it isn't 'dramatic' enough for you?

Fedup I didn't comment on trainers. I think the white stans would be a good purchase and you would get a lot of wear out of them. I also really like the superstars with the steel toe, classic but a bit quirky. Quite tempted myself.

Amber I love those DM chelsea boots. DMs are hard to break in though aren't they?

Lib welcome back!

I finally have a pair of dungarees I like just as the trend is definitely over and am wearing them today - they are from Tu (Sainsbo) and are slim fitting but stretchy black denim.

Sorry to go on about dresses but I would love to wear what Laura F is wearing in this post. Pretty sure it is outside of my price range though!

This is similar from T K Maxx but not my size unfortunately.
