Feeling a bit sick of winter clothes? Looking forward to Spring Summer? Dry (and not-so-dry) January is over. Come and join us for fashion links and more. It's friendly here. Smile

Dressing Room event was fab. bought this top. Poly but I loved the style. Also fell for an AV emerald green top which I can't find a link for and a beautiful necklace so will probably head back and buy next month. Can't wait for Spring having seen all their fab stock.
MiniShop is much better today thank goodness.

Longislandicetee · 28/02/2016 20:14

that's a lovely top Shop. I have to look past the model's sticky out collarbone though, which are like mine. so glad mini shop is okay.

Stokey that Massimo Dutti biker is lovely. Thanks to you and Dry on the pleather vs leather advice!

looking forward to the Oscar fashion tomorrow and seeing lovely Eddie in a tux. oh I so so would

safetyzone · 28/02/2016 20:19

Hi all,

Really envious of all the business class travellers! Envy I did most of my business class flights on work trips (just a few really) and I just wish I could afford it for my family holidays as well.

I succumbed to fashion victimness and bought the Lululemon high rise leggings (and some trousers for cycle commuting). Hope they're as good as their rep!

And also Coach bag. Bought the black with Oxblood interior at the end as I'll be wearing it with jeans and I don't want to ruin it. It will be my go to work bag so needs to be practical.

Like your trainers links Fedup, I've been toying with the idea of getting a pair of customs Adidas Superstars but I've just bought the above, so not sure if I should spend money on it really...

Also looking at black loafers. I love these but they're sold out in my size. And I'd much rather spend at least half of what these cost for loafers, but there aren't a lot out there that are nice and cheap? Anyone seen any?

Has anyone read the Sunday Times today? In Style magazine they did a feature on the Vetements jeans which was £880 and apparently sold out within days. I just thought they looked hideous...

Currently sitting in front of the TV waiting for The Night Manager to come on. Anyone watching?

Drywhitethanks · 28/02/2016 20:34

Safety I bought these 2/3 years ago. Coincidentally also called "Sally" Wink still going strong, comfy, love them.

shop lovely top. I really want a cold shoulder one.

Larastheme · 28/02/2016 21:20

Will Leo win this year?

maradesbois · 28/02/2016 22:33

Evening,

Am stir crazy, fed up of my bloody essay, have only left the house once this weekend and that was only to get ds passport photos done (take 2 after epic fail from dh).

Living vicariously through you all.

Marsha love the lanvins, plus luxe options for both delivery and travel.

Shop glad to hear ds better, that sounded scary. Dressing room sounds fab, would have loved to do something like that today and feel all springlike.

Fedup hope you're feeling better soon, hope so as seems like being in bed is making you spendy Wink. I love the pure white stans but they were just seen this week on VB which puts me off.

Dry love the wiggle dress, so you. Those shoes look too high. And Amber just how many pairs of shoes do you own?? Grin

Have just read some of the Caroline Hirons thread about bloggers and collaborations. Interesting stuff. Comments about wit on there too and her free holiday. Am ambivalent about this stuff. Completely understand that non-hobby blogs need to be remunerative but interesting that it gets peoples backs up in a way that magazine articles don't. Think it's because of the personal aspect like the friendly tone, pics of home and children giving the illusion that the reader is part of the bloggers circle then comes realisation that it's just soft product placement. Have nothing against wit and like her style but there was something just so crass about the holiday advert post that can understand the backlash.

maradesbois · 28/02/2016 22:36

Bernice forgot to say love the whistles dress, it looks like a Marni print. My favourite by far but the oxfam wild card is nice too. Don't think the Boden looks very you, more of a 'bloody hell have a wedding to go' to panic buy.

HappyGirlNow · 29/02/2016 07:51

Cate Blanchett looked AMAZING at the Oscars!

AmberNectarine · 29/02/2016 09:02

Oh, a million mara. I need to do something about it actually because they've started falling out on me every time I open the door to my shoe wardrobe and we won't mention the boxes under the bed and in the loft

MarshaBrady · 29/02/2016 09:06

So glad Leo won

Larastheme · 29/02/2016 09:56

No wow gowns!

Kate winslet looks horrible, very cheap looking gown,

Alica looked cute, love her dress

Charlize always looks great

Jennifer Lawrence is meh

Kate blanchett is all frou frou,

Margot robbie is flawless, probably the most beautiful woman in the world, must be something in the water down under!

QueenC · 29/02/2016 10:20

Love the colour of Reese Witherspoons dress.
Kate Winslet need to go easy on the hair dye-it's looking too blonde and straggly imho.

QueenC · 29/02/2016 10:25

Love Sairorse' dress.
Olivia Wilde looks tacky with her boobs on show.
Cate looks lovely but the colour washes her out a bit. She could have done with a slighly darker/deeper colour I think.
Heidi Klum looks awful in hers. That romantic style is so not her.

QueenC · 29/02/2016 10:30

Love Naomi Watts dress too.

SoyYo · 29/02/2016 10:40

Ladies...have been absent from MN threads for a while but good to see the usual suspects in top form. Not sure if any of you remember me but here I am waving back and saying hi...I am not sure you would approve of my recent purchases (will link later), but glad to be back and loving the thread/to see you are all as fashion obsessed as ever!
Respect to you all and will try and keep up Flowers

Stokey · 29/02/2016 12:19

I liked Cate Blanchett actually - think she managed to carry the frou frou off.

Loved the colour of Olivia Munn's and agree Saoirse and Naomi Watts look good.

Hi SoyYo look forward to seeing your purchases.

SoyYo · 29/02/2016 13:53

Hello Stokey, Thank you for the warm welcome.
I am working from home a lot and not wanting to show my age or anything Blush but love some of Gudrun Sjoden's stuff (the less voluminous styles) and the quality of the fabrics. Great for home days.
I am also having a bit of a monochrome obsession at the moment (because it matches sooo much in my wardrobe) so ordered this dress for home working days:
www.gudrunsjoden.com/uk/clothes/2016-spring/new-arrivalspistilldress in white and black with the pistill leggings (may wear together may not, we will see when they arrive)

Also picked up some East bargains (thinking of summer):
www.east.co.uk/lace-detail-jersey-top-red/ red top
www.east.co.uk/short-sleeve-lace-top-white/lace top
I have the same lace top in black and it is really good quality, washes well and looks good on
Plus (continuing with monochrome obsession to combine with white and black skinnies, dresses and the G.Sjoden monochromes)
www.east.co.uk/lace-detail-jersey-cardi-black/ black jersey cardigan with lace detail

So...have also seen these Gabor boots in the sale (I like Gabor they suit my wide feet even in a standard D fitting) which I am pondering whether to get or not for every day:
www.gaborshoes.co.uk/womens-c1/boots-c3/joyous-womens-boots-p22393 every day ankle boots

Hope my links work as I haven't done this in ages!!

FedupNagging · 29/02/2016 14:30

Welcome back Soyo - I wondered where you had got to; gorgeous shade of red in that East top.

Oscars fashion:
Loved:
Olivia Munn
Alicia vikander
Sairose Ronan - fantastic colour for her
Robin Roberts

Not keen:
Heidi Klum
Olivia Wilde
Cate Blanchett-nice dress but wrong colour

FedupNagging · 29/02/2016 14:39

Fab top from The Dressing Room Shop - did you get a goody bag?

Love the pink contrast on the Coach bag Safety

Dry I have those loafers in cream from about 4 years ago; they've worn really well. Safety Dune had a good selection of loafers.

I tried on these flatforms today and they are a definite maybe.

Popped my Joules cherry too - thanks to enabling friend and bought this breton. I thought it was March 1st so managed to get through frugal Feb Wink

SoyYo · 29/02/2016 14:54

Hi FedUp (waving back)
Had never heard of "flatforms" till you linked, I like! See.. this is what being away from MN threads does to you! Smile

I do like the "cold shoulder" trend and loved the top Shop linked.

Stokey leather jacket (second) post was fab fab, wish I didn't own 3 leather bikers already so I could find a reason why I need this one in my life too.

shopafrolic · 29/02/2016 15:33

I did get a goody bag Fedup
Ipanema flip flops (in brown unfortunately), a bracelet and some earrings (earrings not my style), some Turkish delight and some daffodils. Goody bags are hard I think...... I also entered the raffle as their were some awesome goodies but I wasn't lucky unfortunately.
Tried the top today but Sleep suggested it might be making me look flat chested so need to try again tomorrow when DS is back at school.
Welcome back SoyYo

shopafrolic · 29/02/2016 16:02

So I'm sure we've talked about this before, but what's the verdict on wearing black to a wedding?

I was looking through my existing wardrobe and found this Roland Mouret for Banana Republic dress that still has tags on. Maybe if I get a patterned jacket to wear with it? I also have a non-vintage sadly Biba dress that is black with a panther pattern. Or a black and white All saints dress a [http://www.allsaints.com/women/dresses/allsaints-allura-embroidered-dress/?colour=5&category=22 bit like this]] but white background.

It's just before Easter, I think it's going to be cold!
