hahahahahahahahahaha

Dear lord. I wonder what they're smoking in the Womenswear department at M&S. They do some really good stuff - I love their jeggings, knickers, tights and PJs and the beauty section has seriously upped its game in the last couple of years - but far too much of it is downright frightful. And their clothing range is just far too big. You don't need a choice of 200 dresses, 190 of which are downright ghastly - you need a choice of maybe 20 dresses, at least 18 of which are actually wearable. Its hardly rocket science!

Shock Shock Shock Shock Shock
Sweet mother of Jayzus, they are fecking desperate yolks altogether!!!!

Not even ABBA in their heyday would have been seen wearing such attire.

glenthebattleostrich · 08/01/2016 12:40

I think someone stitched together a load off offcuts and sold them to the buyers for a laugh

Owllady · 08/01/2016 12:40

I think lotta is right. I'd like what they are smoking too

toomanyeasterbunnies · 08/01/2016 12:41

Shock Haven't bought any clothes in M & S for a long time. They need to remove all their ranges and stick to the classics.

Gatekeeper · 08/01/2016 12:41

Horrors!!! I see they are reduced to £11 and someone has reviewed them "Jkie-from-Falkirk" saying how nice they are. If anyone on here is from Falkirk & spots them/her, please give her a card with the Mumsnet link on it. She needs saving from herself Grin

MrsMarigold · 08/01/2016 12:42

Hilarious!

FeckTheMagicDragon · 08/01/2016 12:45

What the actual fuck?!
I used to use M&S as they were the only shop I could get good jeans and smart work clothes in my size. But the jeans quality went to pot overnight. (I still wear some of my old ones) and the work blouses now make no real adjustments for larger busts or arms, are too short and are just kind of wider. Their classics are frumpy, per una range all needs burning and the 'sophisticated' range (can't remember it's name) is just bland.
Every time I wander in there I leave empty handed.

MitzyLeFrouf · 08/01/2016 12:45

I've been to Falkirk. It's a dark, dark place so I'm not surprised one of its residents loves these Brady Bunch horrors.

Boogers · 08/01/2016 12:50

To be fair, in the early 90s I used to wear similar trousers to this, but then again I was in my early teens, stick thin and it wad the time of Nirvana grunge!

These trousers might look good teamed with a plain black jumper or polo neck?

MrsCrabb · 08/01/2016 13:03

Yes, I think they're getting it all wrong. Even when they do manage to produce a high fashion piece well, no-one who's interested in these things is shopping in M&S

I hanker for the days when they were what they were but you could rely on them for decent quality basics at a reasonable (but not cheap) price. e.g. knickers, long sleeved T-shirt, fine knit roll neck jumper etc.

MitzyLeFrouf · 08/01/2016 13:06

'Their classics are frumpy, per una range all needs burning'

I'm not usually one for victim blaming but if I heard of an act of arson being carried out in the Per Una section of a large M&S I'd just sniff and say 'they had it coming'.

Lemonski · 08/01/2016 13:11

You found my trousers!!! Grin

HeadDreamer · 08/01/2016 13:15

That's a classic!

But their quality has gone really bad. I bought a wool cardigan for work last year. It washed really badly, and frankly worse than stuff I bought from new look and h&m.

HookedOnHooking · 08/01/2016 13:17

Good Lord!

I think there should be a TRIGGER In the title.

IJustLostTheGame · 08/01/2016 13:18

Hello M&S? I have a French hypermarche here from 1994 and they want their trousers back.

Ninkynonkrinkydonk · 08/01/2016 13:19

Maybe they're nice when they're on...

AgentProvocateur · 08/01/2016 13:23

What the fuck?! Nooooooo.....

vindscreenviper · 08/01/2016 13:26

I agree with Boogers that there may be a tiny clique of youngsters who could get away with those trews. But there sure as shit not shopping at marks.

LineyReborn · 08/01/2016 13:28

As a stick thin teenager in the 1970s I might have worn them.

But I'm fairly sure that stick thin teenagers from the 1970s aren't shopping in Marks and Spencer.

LittleFishBigOcean · 08/01/2016 13:29

That's like a migraine in trouser form.

y0rkier0se · 08/01/2016 13:30

Very funny Grin

MadHattersWineParty · 08/01/2016 13:34

Jesus wept.

I wanted some nice pjs to wear over Christmas so I stopped by recently.... Everything was made of fleece and had a sort of white foxy stencil on.... I thought they were not too far removed from those zip up fleece jackets with huskies or wolves on under a white moon that you might find round the back of Great Yarmouth market. (2 for £20 on a fluorescent cardboard price tag Grin )

MorrisZapp · 08/01/2016 13:35

It's a camel toe waiting to happen. Mr Tumnus has no hooves to compete with the average UK fantoosh in those thrush bombers.
