The manifesto was disappointingly reasonable and well written.

Awks · 03/01/2016 00:13

And tan. Grey and tan. Love a bit of grey and tan meself.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/01/2016 00:15

I like tan boots and bags - can't wear it as I look like a decaying corpse in it.

MuchasSmoochas · 03/01/2016 00:16

Ou est le manifesto? Link me up can't see it.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 03/01/2016 00:16

I have some real not fake leather culottes actually. They are great and I look a tad better in them than 'Poppy' ta very much Brenda. Grin]

Awks · 03/01/2016 00:20

manifesto

MuchasSmoochas · 03/01/2016 00:22

Thanks Awks. Just realised I am getting my Kats mixed up.

Oxfordblue · 03/01/2016 00:28

Eurgh just looked up mum of 40 & the first post is her just to substantiate a £525 parka...with real fur trim...why oh why ?! AngrySad Oh because it's good for football/ rugby. Phoeey.

BrendaandEddie · 03/01/2016 00:29

But she uses an ß as utter wankery

Is she German ? No

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/01/2016 00:29

Yikes. I didn't look at the cost or what kind of fur it was - I just like parkas!

I love blogs - I read loads.

Some are well-written, some aren't. Some feature clothes I wouldn't be seen dead in, some bloggers seem more/less appealing as people, but hey ho, I just flick to the next one. I can't bring myself to get worked up about them.

Like reading a magazine, I'll suddenly see something I fancy, might click through - so the blogger gets a small sum - so what?

DMBL40's reaction to her mum passing away is very interesting, but I'm not going to judge her at all. Unless you walk in her shoes how can you know how she can best deal with her grief?

BringMeTea · 03/01/2016 01:15

Kat who got the Hump (very droll btw) wrote a quite sniffy comment on Susie So So's blog quite recently. She does come across quite badly. I think she could definitely benefit from a blog namechange, though perhaps that's her 'brand' now. Grin

MrsCampbellBlack · 03/01/2016 07:09

I like fashionmumof40 too and Susie.

Actually the most irritating one for me is WIT who is so sneaky about never saying stuff she gets is free/heavily discounted. I tweeted her once suggesting they got a proof reader for wardrobe icons - she never replied Wink

Expellibramus · 03/01/2016 07:26

Hmm spelling issues as an affectation.

Expellibramus · 03/01/2016 07:30

Keyboard or language pack issues?

As an aside I cba to read that manifesto but I do like the format of her blog. Some of those mentioned above could do with considering a refresh, much easier on the eye.

The trouble with fashion blogs is that in order to make money they have to keep buying stuff and sucking up to brands for freebies. I'd love to see more posts about reusing what you've got in different ways, dressing for different occasions etc but I suspect it wouldn't be as lucrative. Sad thing is I stopped reading fashion magazines because the content was overpriced, irrelevant to me and biased by having to kiss the arses of the big advertisers. Blogging seems to be going the same way.

WoodleyPixie · 03/01/2016 08:51

I don't think they have a problem with shopping. I think they live in a different world to me and that having the right labels and look is part of their circle.

The only issue I have with paid for blogs is disclosure. Please have it will marked that clicking on a link is an affiliate and will generate income (I know it's only pennies per link) if you've been paid to write content or have added a post written by someone else (plus size blogger Laura at whatlauraloves is terrible for not disclosing paid for content even when it's obvious)

I don't have an issue with the mass consumerism and consumption. As long as people aren't buying Gucci bags instead of paying the gas bill it's their own issue.

I love poppy she's a breath of fresh air. She's honest and open and funny and I love that she has the guts to not conform. I think it's cruel to talk about her weight she's hardly grossly overweight she just carried her weight around her middle but she exercises and takes care of herself.

Dmbl40 seems to blog like a diary and an internal dialogue. So I can see why she included her mothers death and funeral. It wouldn't be something I would do but her blog. I do have issue with the Aspie statements though as I said I have a sister who has aspergers and several other conditions and I know that most would be horrified to be labelled as such.

nipersvest · 03/01/2016 09:45

some bloggers are awfully quick to defend when they feel they are being questioned, eg, the comment kat got the cream made on susie so so's blog. one thing bloggers need is a thick skin, particularly when their topic of choice is so subjective.

Oxfordblue · 03/01/2016 09:48

But Joanna (aka Poppy's style) is nearly always sporting a camel toe ConfusedGrin Its so not a good look. Come on Joanna, get it sorted.

I think she's fun, I read her blog, but if she was a friend in rl I'd be pointing it out to her. (Oh gawd, perhaps she knows but doesn't care ?!)

(A friend refers to her...oh I'm almost too embarrassed to write it...gunt) .

I'm off to check the other blogs.

Awks · 03/01/2016 09:56

Maybe it's a territory thing with Kat/Cream and Susie. They live about 20 miles from each other so maybe both want to be Queen Blogger of Yorkshire Grin and there's only room for one of em.

You're right though, I'd imagine a thick hide is necessary to put yourself out there, even for a few freebies.

I know that Allwornout Eve gets no money or freebies at all from blogging - it is just a fun hobby.

What did Katcream say to Susie?
