EVER?
Christ it is relentlessly irritating. I popped back to look at a few after some time and enough already guys - you can only style a pair of skinny jeans so many ways.

I am a mum in boots too, tbh, but it doesn't mean I necessarily want to look at pictures of another mum in boots unless she's doing something that's somehow inspiring like helping me to see different ways of wearing my boots!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/12/2015 18:00

I do like her animal print mini skirt though.

lurkingabit · 30/12/2015 18:05

Yy I've also stopped looking at them. Too acquisitive. Most of them. they must return oodles of stuff. Couldn't possibly have enough wardrobe space.

I like glancing at the frugality, she does it well. But her blog is a bit more than clothes. Brenda's is great but she hasn't blogged so much lately.
I like buynowbloglater. She writes well. Yes it's mostly make up, I don't even have a lot of interest in barr the basics, but she's good at it, aware of its vacuous-ness, readable, and (a rarity) honest. But she must have stacks of the stuff!

Have you seen any on Snapchat. Oh my. All the looking at feet walking snaps! Wtf. Hilarious. And opening of bags and gifts. Oh the thrill.

I may have had a bit of time to browse this xmas hols.

BrendaandEddie · 30/12/2015 18:05

many lolz at mums in boots

Ah they're harmless really. Lots of money and time and often quite samey styles but reading the well written ones (bum40) gives me a bit of frivolous escapism and occasional inspiration.

MrsCampbellBlack · 30/12/2015 18:16

I love buynowbloglater - she is very honest.

TaliZorah · 30/12/2015 18:19

I have 45+ dresses and keep buying more.

There are worse addictions!

swooosh · 30/12/2015 18:22

Do you really think they buy them? The majority get sent a lot of free things. It's brands advertising via bloggers.

MrsCampbellBlack · 30/12/2015 18:39

For the bigger ones that is true Swoosh but not for all the bloggers eg Poppystyle.

WipsGlitter · 30/12/2015 18:53

Is Poppy still blogging?

I don't think DMBL40 is well written but I'll skim it and School Gate Style. WIT still needs a proofreader!

tethersend · 30/12/2015 18:57

The husbands

Bananajam · 30/12/2015 19:00

I do like reading and getting inspiration from the clothes they buy but it all does seem to be getting a bit repetitive recently. I don't have the budget to spend the way they do even if I sent a lot back and even the "cheap" ones aren't so much - The Frugality is hardly minimum wage spending! But it saves on fashion magazines...

BrendaandEddie · 30/12/2015 19:07

god DMBL needs a huge edit button

dont get me started on poppy

I've never read a well-written one, as far as I can remember. They all need to learn the art of saying less, and they all need lessons in accurate punctuation and proof-reading.

And as for the people whose posts contain thousands of links to places like M&S and River Island, but then buy £300 boots etc and think that they've got a bargain...It's so bloody hypocritical, and it's like they think the poor stupid readers won't notice.

WoodleyPixie · 30/12/2015 19:51

I'm
Envious of Poppy's budget. I like that she's not scared to be a little bit out there and wear Stuff that no one else would and can laugh when it doesn't work out.

Bum40 is a bit hit and miss. I dislike the way she will endlessly link to M&s mango, Zara etc and then buy a really expensive designer item. Just actually blog about what you do actually look at to buy.

They both must be very wealthy. Poppy style works though she does mention work often in her blog. I don't think bum40 does though.

Annarose2014 · 30/12/2015 20:39

Bum40 def doesn't work outside the home but you could argue that she's making enough money working from home after the kids have gone to bed so why not?

She has an Aspie child who's seriously hard work too, so sounds like she needs to be pretty flexible. (Also it often sounds to me like she's practically a single parent tbh)

The biggest thing that annoys me about her is that she's constantly saying how utterly shit her body is when she's a tall size 10 and can pour herself into the skinniest leather trousers imaginable. Ummm.....okay.....Hmm

Buynowbloglater is the only one I've really admired over the years. No bollocks. She has her own business and blogs only as a hobby so you don't get that telltale whiff of desperation, where they're desperate for sponsors/subscribers.

ButImNotTheOnlyOne · 30/12/2015 21:04

Well I like bum40 for the slice of frivolous fashion and entertainment .
I don't care whether she works, how much her dh earns and whether she buys things I can't afford .. She's just seems like a laugh who looks great.

Anyway I'm sounding stalkerish now so I'll be off.

Karcheer · 30/12/2015 21:11

I used to love dmbl40 but she now seems to link loads of the same thing which I could do on google search and then in her round up picture not even wear one of said item, she practically wears the same thing every day.
I love her home style which she'd drop the clothes and blog that!

nipersvest · 31/12/2015 11:16

poppy is ace, i applaud the fact she doesn't give a stuff what others think, imo she does wear the odd questionable outfit, but she obviously loves fashion, and wears what she loves.

CoconutAmericano · 31/12/2015 11:29

I like what bum40 wears, she always looks great. Of course being really tall and skinny helps. It's her self deprecation that annoys me. To me it doesnt ring true?

Annarose2014 · 31/12/2015 11:30

What's the story with that "dry" blog she was doing? Didn't she delete it rather abruptly? Did she ever talk about it again?

BrendaandEddie · 31/12/2015 11:32

i thought that was very revealing. Maybe TOO.

I know for a fact that fashion bloggers are given stuff by PR companies - as are magazines and celebs, just another way of advertising. Fashion is a fake old world

MrsCampbellBlack · 31/12/2015 11:42

I think most people realise that a lot of bloggers get given freebies but not all of them do.

It is pretty obvious when some do though - eg kat and her hush/sevenbootlane obsession.

I think Poppy has compulsive/addictive tendencies. Blogging is probably therefore not very good for her at all as it really feeds it.
