EVER?
Christ it is relentlessly irritating. I popped back to look at a few after some time and enough already guys - you can only style a pair of skinny jeans so many ways.
STOP BUYING STUFF*

  • am aware its none of my business/first world problem/dont have to read them etc etc So dont bother saying all that

Yes Brennie, I have thought the same!

BrennieGirl · 31/12/2015 23:24

Check out her latest post on Instagram 😯.

I do have serious house envy though. And I'd love to have half her social life!

There's a lot of really odd 'justification' for buying yet more stuff. And so little of it seems to be worn more than once or twice. It's disgustingly wasteful and mindless.

BrennieGirl · 01/01/2016 00:20

I know Brenda. She certainly hasn't curtailed her partying since her bereavement. It all seems a bit distasteful to me. It's a shame it comes across like that really because I'd say she's a nice person IRL.

AlwaysBeYourself · 01/01/2016 00:23

Totally agree. My favourite blogs are the smaller ones where they just style the clothes they already have without showing new ones every day.

Dorothy Camper is lovely.

I have only seen the Dorothy Camper blog via this thread, are there any more like her? Just normal people with normal budgets and a normal amount of clothes who manage to look nice most days?

AlwaysBeYourself · 01/01/2016 00:54

Anthony Dorothy Camper and a whole host of other ladies started out as a group called Avenue 57 where normal women joined and just posted their outfits they were wearing that day or if they went shopping they posted pictures of different things they were trying on to get opinions. Was brilliant.

Chocolou · 01/01/2016 00:56

mrs campbell do you not blog anymore? Used to enjoy seeing you. Your blog only seems to be about one person now.

Where have all you lovely and different ladies gone?

AlwaysBeYourself · 01/01/2016 03:27

Which is MrdCampbells blog? Would love to have a nosy.

heartyrebel · 01/01/2016 04:17

these threads usually result in the mentioned bloggers popping in to defend themselves Wink

hiccupgirl · 01/01/2016 07:50

I like DMBL40 despite the fact I could never afford most of what she posts and she's 3 sizes smaller and about a foot taller than me!

I think she uses her blog as an outlet for her life and while I wouldn't want to share what she does, it clearly fills a hole in her life to do it. She's one who makes me feel bloggers are normal people, however much some of them pretend otherwise. Poppy on the other hand is totally barmy and I only look at her blog for the entertainment value of the latest outfit.

At least Dorothy Camper hasn't jumped on the over priced, hideous Golden Goose wagon yet.

shins · 01/01/2016 08:43

I love Thatsnotnyage, though she's not really the same "clothes horse" kind of bloggers, more a professional fashion journalist with a sideline. She discusses/models outfits but there is lots of really interesting content, interviews, reviews etc

And unlike most of the bloggers mentioned, she can write!

TwentyOneGuns · 01/01/2016 08:53

Alyson's (That's Not My Age) book is really good as well but as you say she is actually a proper writer, not just a bored housewife with a rich husband :).

shins · 01/01/2016 09:04

I just checked out one of the popular bloggers mentioned- she just seems really frantic and bored and unhappy and yeah, half drunk most of the time!

knitknack · 01/01/2016 09:18

It's a bit low to be judging how a woman lives her life (and continues her blog) after the death of her mother!! Come on - I'd imagine remaining 'in her space' allows her to feel safe and in control...

Regardless, she could be dressing as a clown and learning to tango - it would still be HER bereavement to be dealt with HER way. I can't bear people being judged about how they grieve - been there too many times myself.

whirlybird42 · 01/01/2016 09:19

I've got tears in my eyes reading Poppy's. Why does she not possess a single pair of trousers which fit?

Agree, it is revolting excess really. But entertaining Grin

Higge · 01/01/2016 09:30

I can't bear people being judged about how they grieve Agree

Bakeoffcake · 01/01/2016 09:39

I agree with you too knitknack
She's just buried her mum, don't judge her. (I was drinking vodka on the morning of my dads funeral and I don't usually drink!)
If you're blogging about fashion and are successful, you're bound to carry on buying clothes. Makes sense to me.

VeniVidiVici786 · 01/01/2016 11:19

I used to obsessed with buying the latest fashion item, I'd buy magazines, shop crawl- just to make sure I'm not 'left- behind' where matters of fashion were concerned and then it just him. I believed all the 'hype' drummed into my skull by these so called fashion experts/bloggers.

I found myself with over 100 pairs of 'very beautiful' shoes, my wardrobe collapsed at the weight of all the clothes- and yet I had no place to wear these items, (and even if I had, what's the point of the stress of trying to make sure this is the right item to wear)?!. Half the time, no-one takes notice of you- no-one really gives a damn- if you have a partner who truly loves you- he won't mind if you repeat what you wore last Wednesday- so I'm liberating myself of all the accumulated wasteful gear and if anyone wants some freebies- let me know.

BrendaandEddie · 01/01/2016 11:57

im returning yet ANOTHER PAIR of heels i bought

Ah leave Dmbl40 alone. This is horribly personal and unkind now
