Yay, MrsS! Fingers crossed for the novel and more foxy tales

Here DS has mates over - they have been to Nandos and are now back here. Not sure what else is planned, but he keeps checking what time we're going out/back.
DD has her bf round and I think mates are coming for pre-party then they're off to another mates. I think!

Wow Mrs S amazing news on the novel. Love bling rinng Herbs. Here, DD1 has apologised to BF and they have gone out. DD2 on her way back so can hopefully start eating (and drinking soon).

Very sad here - my lovely neighbour's son-in-law died yesterday. Only 60 but has had heart problems for some time. Neighbour is in her 80's & is a magnificent woman but suddenly looks so tired & old. Her daughter (wife of SIL) is autistic as is the one child they have. Poor W (neighbour) looks her age for the first time ever. Am making soup to take round & DH is baking some bread for them.

Life isn't fair - is it?

DH gave me a late Christmas present of his cold - so I won't be staying up to see the New Year in but HAPPY NEW YEAR to all Crepeys. May 2016 be a great year for all of you.

Despite my sad news at the start of this post, I can truly say that 2015 was the best year of my life, crowned by the arrival of PFGD.

Oh that is sad, MM: one of my neighbours was also killed in a road accident a few weeks ago, I heard yesterday: awful to think of such grief just a few houses away.

Oh Magi, that is sad.

Good idea MI. Work has not gone downhill and I have learned a lot; much better relationship with dd; got fitter and enjoyed it; sorted some of house. Mundane achievements compared with many on here but I am happy.

And to those of you that have KBO with difficult dc and impossible work situations, changed career, got new jobs, lived with and supported family members with mental health problems, written novels, been great grandmothers, coped with bereavement, well I salute you .

Ddads back from hospital and tucked up in bed with Classic FM.

Dh has taken dd2 up the road to a party and ds is being supremely anti social in his room. Just me, two lovely dogs, a bottle of wine, a roaring fire and a documentary about pandas

Had a lovely time round at friends, back to find DS and mates watching TV

And DD has just rocked back up

Just arrived back from seeing in the NY with friends. There were 11 children charging around all evening - ds and one of his besties were the oldest ones there. They have now decided to watch a dvd and eat sweets.
Dh has said he should be back before 3am from his gig in darkest Somerset and dd is sending FB messages moaning that the party she went to was crap and she wishes she had stayed in our town and gone to another party.

Here we had 4 good friends round - we did nibbles, the starter, drinks and coffee while one couple brought and cooked the main course and the other couple the pudding - maximum enjoyment for minimal effort - result!

Ds2 was beyond irritating - having mates round then going out with them with rather vague plans - and getting home c 2.00am . Not impressed.

Great ring Herbs - think of us us fondly when you wear it!

Happy New Year Crepeys - have slept rather late this morning. Quiet new year en famille here except DD1 who went out and hasn't been heard of since .

Happy New Year from me, too. We're still in bed, which is almost unheard of at this time of day. Think we're going to go for a walk along the side of the Tyne, ending up with a pub visit this morning.

MM, sorry to hear about the neighbour. So sad. Here my friend is still missing - I see it has now reached the national press.

Very quiet NYE here. Feeling reflective this morning after a very bad nights sleep....and not in a good way. Trying to focus on achievements but not succeeding. Nevertheless we are going to have brunch on the seafront before setting off home. I guess that's eating again, isn't it....
