libertydoddle · 10/01/2016 10:25

Well done QueenC.

Glad you are feeling a bit better today blingy.

I adore that Jason Wu dress. Just need it reduced by about 85%!!

Stokey · 10/01/2016 11:07

No I'm like you Blingy, I really feel the cold. I think the last spring one I went to, I wore DvF wrap dress and a jacket. But it was the same family, DH's cousins, so can't wear the same thing again. I also felt a little underdressed with everyone in strappy Coast numbers Hmm

shopafrolic · 10/01/2016 15:46

Bloody Harvey Nics have cancelled my order for Marsha's IM sweater due to 'incorrect stock levels showing on their website!!! How crap is that!? Gutted.

libertydoddle · 10/01/2016 15:52

Oh shop how completely annoying Angry for you.

shopafrolic · 10/01/2016 16:12

I thought it all seemed too good to be true when Marsha linked it and it was still there the next morning....

Longislandicetee · 10/01/2016 16:26

Oh no Shop!

Stokey, last time I was going to be at a wedding in a chilly place I wore DvF Bentley dress. Will have a look out on my roaming of websites!

So the expensive thread now has a part 2. Both on the first and this thread, lots of posters repeatedly saying that you shouldn't do bling as it's not "expensive". So wrong. Just so wrong. I am in sick bed today and still wearing my bling basics of ring, studs and cross plus a sapphire and tanzanite ring. I want to go on there and make a passionate case for the defence. gives up and gets coatGrin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 10/01/2016 16:55

Love bling basics! No, stay over here Blingy, where it's safe Grin

I think expensive means different things for different people, but there are a few people on the thread who shout louder about their version of expensive than others. The only thing everyone agrees on is grooming!

Karcheer · 10/01/2016 17:29

I think if it's expensive bling it's clearly expensive, if it's Claire's accessories bling it's not expensive ;)

I've been shopping...

Finally replaced my acne pistols with acne pistols ;)
A pair of long flat tan boots from Valentino.
Orange cashmere vest from bottega veneta which will be so useful.
also got a blue track suit from juicy couture for slobbing about in

Karcheer · 10/01/2016 17:31

Ootd tan ankle block heel boots new look, dark blue frame skinnies, winter white n peal cashmere jumper, tan Stella mcartney blazer, Louis Vuitton animal print scarf.

Drywhitethanks · 10/01/2016 18:58

"Blingy basics" Grin brilliant! I agree, if it's real it's fine. K Middy's engagement ring is hardly discrete but you could hardly accuse her of not looking expensive a bit dull though .

ABs= antibiotics Blingy

Wow Karcheer great haul indeed.

Another item for my cruise wardrobe .....those ruffle trousers QueenC Grin.......and I could totally see you in the Aquazurra silver pumps, lovely.

I have a wedding in March too Stokey......now wouldn't that be funny

Drywhitethanks · 10/01/2016 18:59

Shop boo to H Nics, that's rubbish

Dreamqueen · 10/01/2016 19:01

i too love the thought of wearing Blingy basics.

FedupNagging · 10/01/2016 19:52

Not had much time to keep up this weekend so apologies if I miss anything.

Blingy glad you're feeling better; what thoughtful dc's you have.

Marsha if you're not sure about the Lanvins, then better to exchange for another colour you really like.

Great shopping Karcheer - links would be lovely.

The Smythson rucksack looks very smart but no point if you can't get your laptop in Mara which is a shame.

Love your 'basic' jewellery Blingy!

I seem to remember reading on that thread that nail varnish should be understated - I love a nude nail but not as much as a gorgeous dark/dramatic shade. We must not let looking expensive override looking stylish ladies Grin

Karcheer · 10/01/2016 19:59

pistols

Rest to follow...

The other day I was wearing a Prada coat, expensive track suit bottoms, diamond earring etc. I was dressed expensively but looked scruffy and not stylish Grin

Karcheer · 10/01/2016 20:02

I can't find the exact valentino boots but they are like these

Karcheer · 10/01/2016 20:03

Or these

Longislandicetee · 10/01/2016 20:44

Some lovely things Karcheer.

I can't believe I said bling basics.Blush If you ever met dm (told me off for not making an effort because I took my studs out!) or dmil (wears between 5 and 10 carats of diamonds on a casual day) you would understand!!! please still be my friends.Grin

Dry, no not on ABs. My normal GP won't prescribe them for sinusitis and my private GP would involve me going into London and haven't had the energy to do that!

Karcheer · 10/01/2016 20:49

But brown.

The top is like this this but a vest rather than long sleeve.

Karcheer · 10/01/2016 20:55

This would be the track suit it would've bought had I bought a track suit Grin

safetyzone · 10/01/2016 21:01

Evening ladies.

shop that's shocking but I feel that HN has really gone downhill. It used to be such a mecca for fashion.

Blingy have you got a dressy long jacket? I've been to a few spring weddings and a knee length Chanel jacket served me very well. (helped that it's different groups of people...)

Mum suggested today that maybe I can get some tailoring done when I go to Hong Kong in Easter, after talking to her about our local tailor who also does made to measure. Which one do you think would be the best option to do?

  1. Black cashmere winter coat
  2. Tuxedo jacket like Le Smoking
  3. Everyday blazer in practical colours like navy
QueenC · 10/01/2016 21:41

Evening all. We've had a lovely day catching up with friends and a walk and pub lunch. Ootd was my favourite skinny jeans (gap as usual) and jigsaw velvet front jumper. Although I still have 3lbs to lose I'm starting to feel lighter and my clothes feel better Smile. And ive survived a weekend without wine Grin.
shop it's rubbish when that happens but you never know, there may be some returns. Believe in those fashion gods and if it's meant to be you'll get it.
karcheet great purchases and exciting about your course. When do you start?
safety please stop linking that playsiut. It's so lovely and I want it Grin. Wrt to tailoring, I'd go for whichever you find hardest to fit normally.
blingy are you feeling better? Ive only ever once had to have abs for sinusitis but I literally had foul green snot pouring out of my nose!
dry yes, those trousers are perfect cruise wear!

Longislandicetee · 10/01/2016 21:52

Evening QueenC, sounds like a lovely day! Feeling mildly better. Have been in bed since Thursday night (dh been a star). Can't see me going in to work tomorrow though.

Safety, personally if I was thinking with my head I would go for the blazer. I wouldn't wear the tuxedo enough, would wear the blazer all the time and the cashmere coat could be v expensive if it isn't perfect. If I was thinking with my heart then the coat!

I don't have a long coat dress, being a shorty not very helpful!!

KittyHello · 10/01/2016 23:01

Karcheer great purchases, love the Rocketed boots Envy I'm thinking about some tan Pistols probably now for next AW. I too wore my animal print Lv scarf today, in fact for the first time in ages.

Marsha sounds as if you've found the right shoes in the wrong colour, have you made up your mind yet.

Safety I love the sound of a Le Smoking but as already said is it better to go for something that you'll wear a lot.

Queen well done on a weekend without wine, I'm not doing dry January although I should, those Christmas pounds aren't shifting.

Blingy I've just looked at the expensive 2 thread and got a bit bored with the no bling comments.

OOtd day for me was black Pixie pants, tan trainers, Gap camel merino crewneck sweater, black coat and LV animal print scarf and black cross body bag, ish I had a tan one though and the outfit would have looked nice with tan Pistols too, am putting them on my list.

Cranagh · 10/01/2016 23:13

I would love Blingy basics! Glad you are feeling better.

Didn't read the second thread but some of the first. I assume she meant chic.

Gorgeous buys, Karcheer.

I bought a navy MBMJ Natasha, grey Nike top and Nike trainers last night. Sent back the Sam Edelman Karen boots (ok for daytime but wrong colour for me really).

I want a nice, small navy bag, I've tried several brands, including navy Celine Trio and nothing is grabbing me, except my old fave <a class="break-all" href="//99www.anyahindmarch.com/Day-Bags/Maxi-Zip-Cross-Body/Navy-5050925906654.html?cgid=Day%20Bag&start=69" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Anya Hindmarch or Burberry. I have the larger size Ah in red. I've bought and returned Celine, Chloe, Gucci Disco. Fussy, fussy, fussy. I like that mini Marcie you linked, Justa, but have another bag that colour. Love this Burberry but have it in pale lilac. Any other suggestions?
