Fur or feathers, leather or lace, suede or velvet, come & tell us what you're wearing as the festive season comes our way. What's on your Christmas wishlist and what are you saving for the sales?

From designer to downtown, all are very welcome for chats about fashion, frolics and whatever else tickles your fancy.

I'm stuck on what to get dh although just found the london sock company subscription...
He's so hard to get for.

MarshaBrady · 30/11/2015 18:43

Me too Dry - for different reasons. Decided to meet Dh for a drink to get over it!

LinusLovesBretons · 30/11/2015 19:06

I wish I could have a drink but it's a fast day.

Both children sent to bed without a bedtime story... Angry

MarshaBrady · 30/11/2015 19:25

Completely agree is soft warm non-led lights. Dh bought some multi-coloured flashing LED monstrosities. Took me a couple of years to edge them out of the equation. They were harsh.

Linus [tea]

MarshaBrady · 30/11/2015 19:27

How is [tea] not tea!

Waiting for Dh does he not know every minute counts

Drywhitethanks · 30/11/2015 19:47

Think it's "brew" M Brew

Drywhitethanks · 30/11/2015 19:48

And...tomorrow is Day 1 of Christmas jumper wearing Grin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 30/11/2015 20:06

Not christmas lights, but our neighbour has just got a very harsh LED outdoor security light, at the front! It's awful! Everyone else has those nice little lamppost ones that attach to the wall, and hers is just stuck on.

I want the netting type of lights, to go in our front bay window, but they don't seem to exist anymore. It's too much hassle for us to get power outside. We do have a flat roof at the front, which would be perfect for a fleet of reindeer and sleigh!

Bah humbug Dry I don't own a Christmas jumper Grin

DH has been good this year with ideas, esp as it was just his birthday. I haven't given him any ideas at all!

Like the backpack QueenC, a good buy no doubt.

I bought a navy wool pencil skirt with a code from J Crew last night. Boring but necessary as I'll wear it loads.

MarshaBrady · 30/11/2015 20:29

Having a brilliant night out. Music is so good and we've spent so much already Dh is really good for times when work is a bit gnn

LinusLovesBretons · 30/11/2015 20:31

Thanks marsha, I hope you're enjoying your drink by now.

No Christmas jumper here either blair and no Christmas lights yet either.

We will hang up a few outside but NO coloured ones. If DH would ever take leave of his senses and buy coloured ones I will channel my DM and dispose of them immediately. Grin

But the DC if they behave during the night will start opening their advent calendars tomorrow and we'll buy our Christmas tree this weekend.

Lovely backpack queenc, I would like a silver bag at one point as well.

shop well done on the Paw Patrol purchase. I ordered all the DC's presents on Amazon, they didn't have a wishlist so I'll hope they like it.

Watching a documentary on the Orient Express on Channel 4. I would love to do that one day but they have no showers, just washbasins. That has put me off a bit.

Karcheer · 30/11/2015 20:43

I don't have any christmas jumpers either.

KittyHello · 30/11/2015 21:06

Marsha sounds like you're having a fun night out, sorry to hear you and Dry are having work issues, not nice, hope they both get resolved over this festive period Flowers

Karcheer that green Zarita you linked is lovely, I ordered a 4 in nude/dusty pink, is yours short or the longer length? I tried one on ages ago in Selfridges and 4 was a good fit for me. Did someone post recently saying they had them in a few colours?

Linus Flowers for you, sounds like you need them or booze, shame about the fast day. No Christmas jumper here either.

justasecond · 30/11/2015 21:16

Well done shop I looked everywhere for that look out tower. Your lucky ds will love it!

The AH bag arrived but is going back. I wanted to love it but the strap just didn't look right on me. The bag is gorgeous and a lovely colour though. Am now wondering whether it would be crazy to get another marcie? I have a black one but one in light grey or beige would be nice.
Your bathroom sounds lovely Marsha hope you are having a good night.

Drywhitethanks · 30/11/2015 21:18

Marsha your DH sounds great, lovely that you're having a nice evening distressing.

Kitty it's not a big I sue really, just a little bit annoying Smile

LinusLovesBretons · 30/11/2015 21:40

Maybe you should try the opposite tactic and treat that colleague with a cool attitude whilst staying polite? Reverse psychology Wink

Karcheer · 30/11/2015 21:53

It's knee length/just a bit above. A really nice length on me and the arms aren't too long on me either. But remember I'm small.

Karcheer · 30/11/2015 22:25

It's actually about an inch above my knee, just tried it on again.

KittyHello · 30/11/2015 22:35

I think that's where it comes on me too Karcheer another shorty here

Justa shame about the bag, would you use another Marcie as much as your black one?

HappyGirlNow · 01/12/2015 13:44

Hi all!

Just managed to get Adele tickets this morning!! Grin

Will be a joint pressie for husband (and me I suppose!) as well as a couple of tops.. Already told him I'm only getting him a small pressie for Xmas in anticipation of the bigger pressie in Feb for his big birthday...

Still waiting on French Connection and Zara stuff coming - seems to be taking ages...

So excited it's 1st December!

Dry if your charm is not working I suggest replicating the frostiness and directing it right back! Some people eh!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 01/12/2015 17:14

Dry she's probably jealous!

So, saw doc today. No news Confused except that liver function was a bit high. But she looked at my glands and I'm going back next week for MORE tests that will check if I've been exposed to certain viruses. So I think all I can do is try to rest for now. Only 3 weeks of work left this year!

Marsha glad your DH cheered you up, hope today is better, and for you Dry :)

Well done on the tickets Happy, exciting!

maradesbois · 01/12/2015 17:21

Hello,

Love the coloured Christmas lights debate! Was actually thinking of getting some this year as don't have my decs in our temporary home. Thought we'd go crazy and have a '70s style sensory overload instead of my usual red berry lights and and Victorian/Scandi mishmash (trust me it works!). Bought a whole heap of coloured card, glitter etc and will give ds free reign to be 'in charge' Grin. Also just discovered Tiger store, saw there's a whole thread on here about it. It's fab.

justa am not a fan of Anya H bags, can't put my finger on why they just don't suit me. What size Marcie do you have? I regret not buying a mini one years ago, really like it and still tempted.

Happy well done getting Adele tickets.

Trying to write my essay, have 2 weeks but so much Christmas stuff going on that I want to enjoy too. We've booked Kew Gardens night time Christmas trail for this weekend, it looks great.

Only fashion news is that I bought APC shirt same as Linus and Lara, the MNV garment of the season! A friend on my course went to Charlotte Olympia sample sale yesterday, shoes for £50 and bags at 10% of retail price. Not really my style or would've been there in a shot.

Stokey · 01/12/2015 17:25

Great backpack QueenC, lovely.

Totp Amber? [emvy] can you wear IM skirt, top & jacket and for clients and ditch the jacket for TOTP?

Agree with Dry about the wrap coat Karcheer, am 5ft3 with boobage & struggle with anything that ties round the middle.

I had a mad night on Saturday being a volunteer at am immersive theatre thing - it was really fun and unlike anything I've done before. Would thoroughly recommend it to anyone in the area, think they have 3 more before the run finishes.

We're having outside lights for the first time this year but just out the back as we're having a Christmas party this year & planning on chucking the kids outside. DH wanted blue, I was all for cold white, not sure what we compromised on.

I have nothing yet for DH either.

Evening!

Well done on the tickets happy, very Envy

mara one day we should have a MU with all of us wearing that shirt and see how different it looks on all of us. Talking about MU's, thank you for your lovely comment the other day about our little MU. Smile

I second or thirs the wrap coat advice karcheer. I am 5'4 small boobs though and wrap coats look very bulky on me. The only exception are classic trenchcoats as they are usually in a thinner fabric.

blair have they tested you for mononucleosis? That can really wipe you out for months and months.

LinusLovesBretons · 01/12/2015 18:19

Third not thirs. Sigh.

maradesbois · 01/12/2015 18:57

Blair all sounds a bit vague from the doc but good that they are continuing to investigate. Hope you get an explanation soon.

Dry meant to say earlier cuff is beautiful & very ornate so would suggest let it speak for itself and forget about necklace.

Linus you're on, we can meet in Paris Wink.
