Meant to add, Blair I hope you feel better soon.

LinusLovesBretons · 23/11/2015 15:05

I love those culottes bernice! I am a sucker for anything grey flannel really. Let us know how they turn out.

queenc impressive shopping in one hour! I especially like the loafers. I don't do fringeing but I love a tassel.

karcheer I have been to NY in October so not as chilly as December but one day it was very chilly so I wore lots of layers.

I wore Uniqlo heattech leggings under my jeans and they were perfect. Thin enough not to be noticeable but nice and toasty. Thick sock and biker boots kept my feet toasty and I could walk for miles.

On top I wore a heattech ls tee and a cashmere jumper but maybe in December you can add a flannel or cotton shirt as an extra layer? And a nice warm scarf and woolly hat of course.

blingy it's perfectly normal to feel exhausted after a stressful day with the DC. I also have days where I do nothing but repeat myself (put your shoes on, wash your hands, flush the loo, say please, say thank you. 50.000 times a day) and where I'm more of a referee between the DC than a mum.

Sometimes I just take a step back for my own sanity especially when I feel like I've done nothing but yell and nag all day. Wink

shopafrolic · 23/11/2015 15:52

I have been channeling Dry this afternoon - went in to DS' school to read with the reception kids. DS was baffled as to why I was there. Grin
Bernice fingers crossed for the culottes - can totally see you rocking them. Would love to see a pic of you in Russian Red (I love it) - I bet you'd look amazing. Thinking of you lots at the moment.

QueenCardi · 23/11/2015 15:56

Hello all.
3 things from my day at work...
-Loved my outfit
-Most people are very casual but I prefer to differentiate between work and home a little bit. The person im taking over from had jeans on. Will be intetesting to see if she wears them when we see patients.
-A leather shoulder bag is no good for walking and carrying shoes/lunch etc so will have to sacrifice style for a rucksack

Karcheer · 23/11/2015 17:23

linus I have my heatech tops from last year I will definitely take them then.
I know I shouldn't get a while new wardrobe, but it seems I only shop when I'm about to go away. I literally haven't purchased one thing since September and I've been wearing a reduced wardrobe so things have got a bit shabby and I'm bored of them
Funnily enough I wore a black top and my fav black eve blazer a few weeks ago when dh and I went to the crazy bear with a few friends and I got more compliments from friends than I ever have wearing my autumny sludge colours, made me a bit :S about my colours...

Karcheer · 23/11/2015 17:25

While - whole

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 23/11/2015 17:56

hello all

glad you and sleep had a good time Shop i would love to see more live music but i'm stuck in a non descript town which doesn't get much and getting back from the two nearest cities can be problematic a lot of the time, maybe i can try to see more when i visit DP though

blingy don't worry about being 'shouty mum' some of the time, it happens to us all, Ds was an only but the amount of days i can think of where it was nothing but telling him off, putting him in time out etc are often too many to count!

queenC good shopping! glad you feel better about your work look now though, i find it can help to make you feel more confident if you have the clothes you feel 'right' in

to bernice thinking of you often lately lovey

FedupNagging · 23/11/2015 19:36

Blingy hope you are feeling better about things today. Might I refer you to my mn user name - there is a reason that name came about - 'nuff said!!

Shop hope you enjoyed enjoyed your afternoon reading - I used to love going in to school to help out (massive respect to teachers and TA'S) but crikey it was hard work. Ds1 used to call me Mrs Mummy which always made me Smile

Bernice love those grey culottes. Also loving the bright lipsticks - Ujj has been seen in a fabulous red too.

I picked up Sandwash pink today - it's my favourite everyday colour.

Welcome back Karcheer. If you don't want to get a whole new wardrobe, maybe get a couple of pairs of jeans/skinnies and then a few tops/jumpers that you can mix and match. How about this jumper or this. I love the style but sadly not my colours.

LinusLovesBretons · 23/11/2015 19:52

karcheer I don't know if you do grey but this kind of cashmere jumper is easily dresses down or up.

With jeans and a scarf during the day and maybe with a silk camisole and cigarette trousers and heels in the evening.

FedupNagging · 23/11/2015 20:10

This gorgeous colour jumper accidentally ended up in my basket today- as its cotton and not wool it will be much harder for me to shrink!

It looks so much better on with a shirt underneath than the picture.

Drywhitethanks · 23/11/2015 20:56

Viva Banana Repibluc Sloan fit are my perfect work trouser have 4 pairs nice thick fabric with a bit of stretch, cigarette leg. Suit my shape.

What are you wearing on your feet with loafers? Tried mine with black socks, looked terrible.

Have done rather well on an Ebay ale which means I get to save for something nice.....not a clue what yet though Shock

Drywhitethanks · 23/11/2015 21:08

I'm. A complete liar.....loads of ideas actually may have just made a purchase but not mentioning until it's received and tried on Wink

libertydoddle · 23/11/2015 21:27

Ha ha dry. Go on, tell usWink

I am in a strop with sodding Pinterest. It won't let me look my boards etc on my phone. Keeps diverting me to a page where I have to select my interests to keep going. I selected fashion but it seems that isn't enough and it wants more. It's honestly giving me the rage. I actually slapped the little pin robot on the phone may have had a bad day I just want to look at pretty pictures Angry Sad

Having Wine to console myself.

Drywhitethanks · 23/11/2015 21:32

I hate how you can't link a garment you've pinned that isn't current stock. I've tried to link outfits from Pinterest on here with older stuff and it just won't work for me Angry

libertydoddle · 23/11/2015 21:36

Humpf to pin! In fact humpf the whole sodding internet. I am trying to download whatsap again and all I keep getting is a sodding Turkish language version

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 23/11/2015 21:39

Oh Lib that sounds very annoying! I wish they'd just leave Pinterest alone. Haven't had that yet.

Dry you tease!

Trying to write this a bit quicker than yesterday's post because I totally missed all QueenC's great links. Love the workwear chat. Lately I have been wearing long sleeved tops/turtleneck knits under my me+em dresses which I like because it's cosier than a jacket. I too am above averagely smart at my work. It just matters! Always wear earrings and at least one other bit of jewellery on top of watch and rings too. I hate not feeling "put together".

Waves and hugs to Bernice.

Hello Karcheer, so jealous of your NYC plans! My suggestion is going to be a cashmere beanie if you don't have one, you'll need toasty ears (and feet too).

I had a letter from my doctors today asking me to make a "routine" appt to discuss my test results, so that's that. As I'm working somewhere else this week though, it's going to be hard to get in before next Tues (but might not be able to get one anyway of course). Not sure whether it would be better to just go in case I can do something that will make me feel better a week earlier.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 23/11/2015 21:50

Oh and I keep meaning you ask you style geniuses... what top would go with this skirt?
All I can think of is a plain (prob black) scuba top, probably a crop top. But I can't find one, and I really want to wear it as it looks so good!

KittyHello · 23/11/2015 22:21

Blair I could see 2 skirts 1 red and one black were these the ones you are commenting on? How are you feeling today Flowers

Been a bit AWOL recently due to work and rubbish time management on my behalf.

Received a £10 voucher from Boden and ordered snow leopard pouch it hasn't arrived yet but looks as if it could be useful.

Great purchases QueenC's my work wear wardrobe needs a bit of an overhaul, I'm only part-time but I don't want to spend a fortune, I too dress more smartly that I need to at work. Although I am stuck in a work rut of black cigarette pants, LKB Florissa's, and a rotation of Me * Em tops and Tippis. I need to venture out onto blouses and I like the Toast ones you purchased. Glad you had a great 1st day

C'mon Dry 'fess us what have you bought?

Karcheer was only think about you the other day and wondering where you got to. I went to NYC in December many moons ago and I froze, took totally inadequate clothing - personally I 'd take my arctic parka!

Lib when are you off on your hols?

There are 2 bags I am coveting at the moment, will link later, may need the MNV jury on this. Wink

Will try and keep up a bit more regularly, have missed the chatter.

Drywhitethanks · 23/11/2015 22:29

Nothing amazing, a jumper I've coveted for a while from Me and Em. I want to put my Ebay money towards something special, not fritter it away on little bits.

QueenCardi · 23/11/2015 22:30

I've attempted to catch up and read properly instead of skim reading...
blingy don't beat yourself up. We all have nagging/shouty days like me today. According to big dd though daddy still loves me as he's had sex with me 3 times Shock Grin.
bernice can totally see you in those culottes although what shoes will you wrar with them? Hope the Russian red works. One of my style resolutions this year was not to buy any further lipsticks or nail polishes which I think ive stuck to.
lib I haven't had thatbwith pin yet but I know what you mean about pretty pictures. I use Instagram for the same thing although that gets a bit too annoying as I follow all the usual bloggers who always seem to be buying something new
dry I'm thinking it must be a big purchase if you're hiding it from us....?
shop love going in to help at school especially reception as they're just so cute.
karcheer haven't had a chance to shop for you but do you have the boring stuff sorted-coat/hat/boots/thermals?

I've just been researching backpacks (kick me off now). There's some surprisingly nice ones. I know dh will make the Hmm face when I ask for a new one as I have a perfectly good black North face one.

QueenCardi · 23/11/2015 22:32

Oh blair I missed you out....sounds good if you only need to see gp as routine. If you can't get to them soon do they offer telephone consultations just to put your mind at rest? The skirt didn't link as it just took me to the whole pin page

QueenCardi · 23/11/2015 22:35

dry I also meant to ask about the sizing on BR trousers? Are they like gap? I might try the sloane as I too could do with longer length trousers but can't be faffed with ordering 2-3 sizes to try. I need to come to London for a shop.

Drywhitethanks · 23/11/2015 22:52

QueenC BR very much like Gap sizing I'd say. Only con is the are Dry clean only.

Not a big purchase, just don't want anyone to nab the alternative size if the one I've ordered is not right.

VivaVegas · 23/11/2015 23:00

Thanks Dry, will have a look at those. I've been wearing my loafers with opaques and a long jersy skirt or I have a shorter length wool like M &S skirt in cobalt blue which I wear them with, again with opaques and a black Gap merino crew neck. I don't have any winter trousers for work, I too hate the whole shoe/foot/sick issue! I did buy some black opaque pop socks last year but never found any trousers that I liked, I'm wondering if wide legged would be better but I'm a bit of a short arse to carry them off!

MarshaBrady · 24/11/2015 08:05

Morning, some lovely style going on in Copenhagen. People look good. It is a chic hotel, probably helps.

Big wave and hugs to Bernice, thinking of you. Love the culottes, looking forward to IM link.
