Cool. Picturing you guys Blair and Lib will help me massively. Smile

MarshaBrady · 19/11/2015 21:52

Evening has been hectic at work, so nice to see loads of posts. Have missed vogue lately.

Shop that's exciting, do you think it's the start of something new? - would you like to keep doing it

Dry snow this weekend? Love snow. What a switch from the mild weather.

QueenC oh no what timing. Hope your first day is really good.

Justa I'm sure we can find something. Will have a think.

Ok posting and will read more

MarshaBrady · 19/11/2015 21:59

I love the sound of those Lib we need pics!

Blair I hope you're ok

Happy love the Zara buys, and the Gucci, think Dry has one? (Or is it different)

Had a really nice morning watching a school assembly with Dh. Ds was hilarious putting in extra moves. But also just really nice for us both to be there (made him very happy) and to do something different to the usual.

Drywhitethanks · 19/11/2015 22:32

Yes, Happy that's the one I have it. Amber has one too. Great, versatile little bag. Use it for day and night. LOVE it, one of my best buys.

libertydoddle · 19/11/2015 23:10

Justa what a shame about the boots Sad

Had a quick look...

Whistles Elgin boots

Whistles Cordia lloks good for slim ankles but OOS in a lot of sizes

LKB but maybe too dressy

AmberNectarine · 19/11/2015 23:11

Yep, used mine today for work - is a really handy size, I'd like a red one as well (mine is navy).

VivaVegas · 20/11/2015 07:23

Justa I have skinny ankles and bought these last month boots and love them with skinnies or dresses.

FedupNagging · 20/11/2015 07:33

good luck QueenC i'm sure everything will be fine Thanks

HappyGirlNow · 20/11/2015 13:01

Aw brill re Gucci amber and dry - it does look a reasonable size for daytime but still dressy enough for most evening socialising.. I like the rounder version too but that looks just too small and restrictive for daytime use...

VivaVegas · 20/11/2015 15:23

Love this Tart Dress shame I have my Christmas party outfits sorted.

HappyGirlNow · 20/11/2015 16:24

Hey is anyone familiar with Geneva?

I've booked the Four Seasons for my husband's birthday in February.. We'll be staying for 2 nights. I had booked the main restaurant Il Lago for his 'birthday dinner' on the 2nd night but the hotel has emailed me to say the restaurant is being renovated during Feb, do we want to eat in the bar.. Normally that would be ok but it's a big birthday so I've said no though we'll probably do afternoon tea there the first day..

I've now tried to book Rasoi by Vineet at the Royal Mandarin (Michelin start Indian) but it looks like it's fully booked though ive emailed them to ask if this is correct (it's a Monday night in Feb! But may well be correct I suppose...)

Anyhow, if they don't come through does anyone else have any recommendations for a fantastic restaurant there..? I've been researching but nothing is standing out Confused

Thanks Grin

VivaVegas · 20/11/2015 16:45

Sorry Happy can't help I'm afraid, we fly to/from there once a year to go skiing and that's it! Hope you get it sorted.

LinusLovesBretons · 20/11/2015 16:46

Such a shame as Il Lago is wonderful. The bar is nice (they do great cocktails) but it's a bar so not really special enough for a birthday IMHO. If it was summer and their terrace was open that would be different.

The Indian restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental is yummy so I hope their online booking system is wrong and they can give you a table.

If you want another option for afternoon tea, I can really recommend the Hotel d'Angleterre (Windows restaurant)Great view of the lake (on a sunny day) and delicious high tea.

L'Arabesque in the Hotel Wilson has nice Lebanese food and if you fancy Thai there's the Patara (forgot the name of the hotel it's in).

I think there's a great Michelin starred restaurant in the Genevan countryside (if you don't mind taking a taxi) but I'll have to ask DH when he's home as I've never been.

To be fair, there's not a lot of nice restaurants in Geneva [bitter] especially compared to the UK/London.

HappyGirlNow · 20/11/2015 16:57

Aw thank you Linus

I did really like the idea of eating in the hotel we were staying (not having to wear weather appropriate clothes etc) but it's not to be... I did consider changing the hotel but I've my heart set on the Four Seasons now.

Yes I had a look at the bar online and it just didn't look right for a big birthday dinner... I think we'll do afternoon tea there though as I would like to eat one meal there apart from breakfast..

I really hope the booking system is wrong for the Indian as the tasting menu looks fantastic! Fingers crossed! Grin

I did see the Windows restaurant online.. Would that be good for dinner too?

If you could please ask your DH about the country restaurant that would be great too thank you!

HappyGirlNow · 20/11/2015 17:04

Rah it was all perfect and now it's..... not! How dare they close for refurb??!! Angry

libertydoddle · 20/11/2015 17:20

Oh that is annoying happy.

How did it go today QueenC?

My night out tomorrow is off as my friend is unwell Sad. Have just told DH we are having a date night in instead so I can still wear my new heels Wink

shopafrolic · 20/11/2015 17:30

How did today go QueenC?

libertydoddle · 20/11/2015 18:44

And how did the wardrobe edit go shop?

shopafrolic · 20/11/2015 21:02

Wardrobe edit was a lot of fun. We binned 4 bags full and identified lots of gaps. She said it was very therapeutic. Am going to take her shopping soon. Enjoyed it. Smile

shopafrolic · 20/11/2015 21:03
