I'm sorry that I won't be able to join Secret Santa. We go away round the deadline time (DH has a BIG birthday) & don't get home until just before Christmas. Sounds fun & a real challenge to get something apt/funny for £5. Will look forward to hearing what you all get.

hattymattie · 23/11/2015 16:56

Rudy I'm in - address the same as last year.

Herbs - such a relief re DNeice. Very worrying about DM. My DM is the same. She doesnt have alzheimers apparently just bog standard dementia.Hmm

motherinferior · 23/11/2015 16:59

And newbies - gonegrey, Cresset et al - please do join in the secret Santa!

wordassociationfootball · 23/11/2015 17:26

I would like to Santa it up. Thanks Rudy.

Rose are you coming to see us soon in this gentle corner with a nice chair and as much attention as you would or wouldn't like?

MontserratCaballe · 23/11/2015 17:33

Rose update - the week of formal mourning is now over and rose hopes to be back with is very shortly. Sorry she let me know earlier and I forgot to pass on.

Collymollypuff · 23/11/2015 17:34

I'm going to be bonkersly busy between now and Xmas, so I think I have to opt out of the SS this year - but I'll cheer you all on from the sidelines!

Thank you for all the kind welcoming messages, and I am in for the Secret Santa, will pm my address.
Sending this from Berlin. I was last here in 1988, a year before the Wall came down, when I was followed everywhere. So strange to see all the changes . Fantastic museums, a great place for a short break.
I am still so anxious about my student dd in Paris doing her internship on her University "year abroad". She is determined to stay until her contract ends at Chrustmas . Proud of her sangfroid but wish she was elsewhere .
In S&B vein, there is a uniform here - puffa coat, beanie hat (fur Pom Pom), and biker boots - every single woman ! I went into Max Mara earlier to drool - good thing travelling with hand luggage only .
Confession time - opened my M&S advent calendar and raided it for small travel products ....a timely purchase . Very good value at £1 per product .
Now snowing hard, off to visit the Parliament by night . Really moving for me to see democracy established here after the communist days I remember so vividly .

motherinferior · 23/11/2015 18:25

God I love Beelin Envy

Cremo · 23/11/2015 18:37

As do I MI. VeryEnvy of you Gonegrey. Hmm maybe should book to go back again with Dh. ...

Rudy, I have signed up to the Elfin Thingamabob.[santa]
Have commenced Xmas shopping, with leaden feet. Called with dsis to pass over nieces birthday gift and she has been given a kitten for her 16th. It is beyond gorgeous and really cheered me up. Just thinking there are eight (8, VIII) family birthdays between now and Xmas. Maybe that explains my meh attitude towards it.

Hope Auriga feeling better and BD feeling ok too.
Magi have a fantastic trip!

BeachysFlipFlops · 23/11/2015 19:15

I too am searching for the benefit primer. Doesn't seem to be on the Boots or JL websites. I neeeeddddd oneeeee Wink

addle · 23/11/2015 20:19

Cremo, eight (8,viii)? that's just not right. I have two and it's two too many. Love Berlin. Crepey destination?

Sorry not to post much, life a bit on top of me, but thinking of you all, reading and lurking and wishing I could make it on Friday. You will have photos won't you?

I have signed up, Rudy.

Herbs, sorry I meant to say I am keeping my fingers crossed that it stays positive for DN.

Crem talking about kittens has reminded me of Mog on the Tyne (we're taking DGD2 to the Centre for Life in Newcastle I was thinking we would eat somewhere near). It's a cafe full of cats - people actually queue up to go in, cuddle cats, and have food! I am not sure what the health and safety rules are about it, but obviously they have sorted something out.

I hope you're ok, Rose and that Crepeys with ailments and foggy heads are feeling better now?

MontserratCaballe · 23/11/2015 22:12

The Benefit primer is attached to Elle mag. I haven't found it on the website but they still have it in the Sainsbury's in E Dul. Not much use to anyone apart from BTM - Beachy, can I get you one and pop it in the post? I really like it.

MontserratCaballe · 23/11/2015 22:14

Love the idea of the kitten cafe! Crem, 8 birthdays is outrageous. DS is on the 1st Dec and that is one too many and too close to Christmas.

Lalsy · 23/11/2015 22:19

I'm in (tho am a useless shopper) - have PM'd you Rudy.

CV, I second Stabilo handwriting pens.

Gone, I love Berlin too - was there in '89, must have been just before the wall came down. It was a bizarre trip. Full of history (I was with a colleague who had lost much of his family in the camps and they would have passed through Berlin) and I met lots of academics from behind the iron curtain - thought nothing of it at the time...I've been back twice since.

BeachysFlipFlops · 23/11/2015 22:37

That's kind, Monty but I'm up in London at the moment so I'll search one down tomorrow.

Staying at my dsis tonight. Forgot my pj's so now I'm ensconced in pink gingham. Not sure I've ever worn pink gingham!

Lalsy · 23/11/2015 22:52

It is a rather fetching image, Beachy....Grin

Collymollypuff · 23/11/2015 23:28

There's a kitten café in Bethnal Green, I believe, or somewhere not far from Spitalfields. I suggest a Crepey mini-MU there after Xmas.

Berlin - a more exotic Crepey weekender, mebbe. Smile

Hello Crepeys. Sorry for the radio silence. I have very much appreciated the warmth of your kind posts and messages. I am trying to get back in the loop, feeling a bit odd and disorientated but I will keep on trucking.

Hard to catch up....glad Auriga is on the mend...sorry that I didn't chase you as agency sister. You must take care of yourself.

Some amazing travelling going on, MrsSto the Far East and how lovely to have a new crepey, welcome Gonegrey

Glad to hear herbs DNeice is making progress.

Rudy I'm in for the SS...what info do you need in the PM?

Crem and BD sorry the work sitch continued to be shite for you both. I hope there will soon be an end in sight.

Mi as per our texts.

Sorry if I haven't caught up properly. Best to look forward , eh?

Thanks once again for your support and kindness which I will no doubt again fall back upon in the coming weeks and months and particularly to Monty who is a brick xxx

NUFC69 · 24/11/2015 09:20

Lovely to.see you again, Rose, we have all been thinking about you and your family. Be kind to yourself over the coming months. Thanks

Rudy, I am fine with bringing the date forward.

Right, off to face Pre School Day at the Centre for Life.

herbaceous · 24/11/2015 09:31

Lovely to see you Rose. That must have been one hell of a week. I loved the pictures of your dad on Facebook - he looked a lovely man.

Here I've sacked off volunteering for the day to get ahead with planning for work, so I can relax at the end of the week and a) enjoy my birthday and b) organise the party!

I wish I was better at just 'getting on with things'. Faced with lots to do, of an uncertain nature, I'm like a rabbit in the headlights, and dick about on t'Internet rather than just taking the first baby step into the unknown. All I have to do is decide how I'm going to test my learners' speaking and listening, and plan the lessons accordingly, but three different people have told me three different ways I MUST do it, so I'm flapping.
