Oh thank goodness, Hatty it's been hugely on my mind. It's horrifying that people are essentially under a curfew in Paris. This is exactly what the terrorists want...What a heinous atrocity.

Lalsy · 14/11/2015 14:03

Hello, Hatty Flowers. Thanks for letting us know.

Stropps, you have given me my first laugh today Grin. Superannuated sex worker indeed.

Rosebag · 14/11/2015 14:28

Grin Grin Grin. stropps you have just helped me to realise the perfect transition from my superannuated health service worker ( which I can't do any more...been out of the loop too long)..... Do you think the local pimps would continue my pension scheme?

I am so fed up and Angry with DM who is only one day into her antibiotics and has taken herself to the home and made sure to let me know. I am resisting the urge to go there. I will not. We are about to take DD for the first of her dress runs (DS has been there since 9.30) and we are going to do what we normally do when they are both there.....sit in the snugly lounge of a lovely local country hotel up the road from the theatre, with open fires and comfy seats and sit there til the end of the call, eeking out a huge cream tea. AIBU?

NUFC69 · 14/11/2015 14:42

Of course not, Rose - DM is just trying to guilt you. Have a lovely afternoon and enjoy yourself.

Commiserations to BTM and Stropps re recalcitrant daughters - been there, got the thirst.

Have just had a great Italian lunch with DH - AIBU to comment about the lovely, well behaved children in the restaurant? There seemed to be lots of them and they were perfect! On the way home we saw our first Christmas tree in the window of someone's house. Hmm We're having DD's two DC for a sleepover on 5th December and had decided we would do our decorating then, plenty early enough to my mind.

NUFC69 · 14/11/2015 14:44

Thirst - wretched iPad ... Tshirt.

Stropperella · 14/11/2015 15:12

Ha, NU, I thought you meant you were driven to drink. Grin

Ach, Rose, now you've given me the idea that I should work at getting value for money out of my five pound trousers. Grin
Surely your Dm would be better off keeping her germs away from your poor df?

wordassociationfootball · 14/11/2015 17:38

NU am making sweet pot parmesan mash...Smile

motherinferior · 14/11/2015 18:29

I have no outfit for Herbs' party!!!!

bigTillyMint · 14/11/2015 18:52

Just back from lovely long afternoon tea with my friend (for her birthday treat) in quirky café in Dalston, no less!

Now feeling rather fullSmile

herbaceous · 14/11/2015 19:25

Don't worry MI - I'm not sure I do. Still quandarying between wig, turban and au natural.

Took DS out swimming in the cold and wet (well, the outside was - the swimming pool was warm and wet) and returned to a lovely chicken and leek pie with cheesy pastry cooked by DP. Mmmmm..... Now compiling a playlist to kick off the party. There'll be a proper DJ for the last couple of hours.

herbaceous · 14/11/2015 19:26

In other news, we're having lunch with the Couple Who Didn't Invite Us To Their Wedding. I was going to confront them about it, in a no doubt humorous fashion, but they've brought human shields with them, in the form of daughter and daughter's friend.

bigTillyMint · 14/11/2015 19:47

Lunch? It's 7.45pm Grin

herbaceous · 14/11/2015 20:09

I mean tomorrow, naughty.

bigTillyMint · 14/11/2015 20:33
Grin

Here DH is in a vile mood because DSs has just come down to announce that his ankle is swollen again so he can't play tomorrow (which coincides with various other players having injuries and leaving so the manager was counting on him) Oh joy Sad

bigTillyMint · 14/11/2015 20:51

Why do Durex ads keep popping up on my page?!

CointreauVersial · 14/11/2015 20:55

Evening crepeys. Am propping up the sofa munching on a bar of Galaxy Salted Caramel after a day of doing not much at all.

We had our "chat" with DS. Good Cop and Bad Cop. Good Cop (me) started off, having picked a moment when he was in a reasonable mood, but then he started smirking and looking at his phone, so Bad Cop (DH) had to step in for a while. He didn't say much, but I think he took it on board, because a couple of times since I've noticed him check himself before saying what he would usually have said. Time will tell..... He now has his mocks timetable; they all kick off in just under three weeks, but I can't quite persuade him that he really should be revising by now.

One small parenting fail this week - I actually managed to leave a child behind yesterday. We were half way home, sitting at the level crossing, when I looked around the car in a panic, and said "where's DD2?" Shock The other two thought it was hilarious, and made sure to film DD2's furious face when I came back to collect her. Poor thing - I just drove off without her.

bigTillyMint · 14/11/2015 21:11

CV, what is Galaxy Salted Caramel?Envy - what a pig I am after all that afternoon tea. No wonder all my clothes are tightSad
Fingers crossed for your DS, CV. But Shock at you leaving your wee DD behind - Senior moment?

motherinferior · 14/11/2015 21:25

I am crawling to bed early to read. DP is coughing repulsively which is, I have to admit, a little off-putting.

NUFC69 · 14/11/2015 21:58

Never left a child behind, CV, but have to admit that when we were driving to see my DDad after the birth of my PFB, I suddenly panicked and thought "where's the baby?" He was, of course, fast asleep in the carrycot on the back seat (strapped in, I hasten to add).

I don't know about Durex ads, BTM, when I was googling choirs in my small town, a website came up for "older women for easy sex in ...(town)". Am now agog. Shock

Salted caramel Galaxy sounds wonderful, btw.

CointreauVersial · 14/11/2015 23:02

The latest in a long line of senior moments, BTM. Blush

Salted Caramel Galaxy is lush - comes in a turquoise wrapper.

MrsSchadenfreude · 15/11/2015 10:50

We came home late one night and dumped DD1 in her car seat in the hall, went to bed and forgot about her. Woke up around 4, and thought, shit, where's the baby? Thankfully still asleep in her car seat.

One of my earlier "Unfit Parent" moments. This week was worse - Dd2 was supposed to discuss her school report with us and then fill in a form. She reported back that she hadn't seen it, as we had lost it. Blush

motherinferior · 15/11/2015 11:17

I have many and frequent Unfit Parent moments.

DP is still fine-tuning his performance of 'The Last Days of Haworth Parsonage'. It's coming along splendidly. Our house reverberates to the sound of tubercular coughs.

Cremo · 15/11/2015 11:28

Morning Crepeys, glad to hear about the outfits coming together nicely.
Have been glues to the dreadful news for the last couple of days. Feel very sad indeed. Sad
Back to work tomorrow , and will be trying to keep head down and ears closed against gossip and unverified predictions. So far no jobs have appeared , that fit in with hours I am able to work X type of work I am willing to do. Have applied for a few unsuitable ones( cemetery admin) to practice interview confidence. Sigh.

NUFC69 · 15/11/2015 15:30

Good luck tomorrow, Crem. Don't get too downhearted, something that you want to do will turn up - just keep on plugging away at it,

MI, sorry that DP is driving you mad with his hacking - inconsiderate devil.

WAF, did you enjoy the Parmesan sweet potato mash? Here I have baked MrsS s almond and poppy seed cake and made a coconut macaroon slice thingy, and a shepherd's pie is bubbling away ready to be finished for tomorrow night's dinner. Feeling quite virtuous.

How are you feeling now, Hatty? When do you go back home?

bigTillyMint · 15/11/2015 15:34

Well, I can confirm that the Country Living Christmas Fair was great! Bought a few bits including a candle lantern, Christmas dec's, Heck sausages and a gorgeous capey poncho thing with fur round the neck/ bottom for one of my Christmas presents and a necklace for anotherSmile We also tasted lots of free goodies/alcoholic beverages including rather a lot of chocolate tooSmile

Cremo, sending you strength.
