How about a Crepey spa mini-retreat in Bethnal Green, then? I love spas, and know Bethnal Green reasonably well. The V&A Museum of Childhood must be virtually next door to the spa, so we could all go there to get nostalgic before being pummelled.

Good luck today, Auriga!

Ooh Herbs, that's good to remember (the spa, I mean!)

bigTillyMint · 08/11/2015 14:22

Ah, I see it's in York Hall - vv close to where DH works!

bigTillyMint · 08/11/2015 14:29

Molly, xpost! I'm up for that - there is a nice vegan/veggie, etc café right by there tooWink

herbaceous · 08/11/2015 14:33

Not sure it's York Hall, but that would do too! Great idea Molly! I happen to know a dear little place for post-spa drinks!

bigTillyMint · 08/11/2015 14:35

That's what it says on the website!

So café first, then a nostalgic whizz through the MoC, then spa and then cocktails? Sounds parfait!

herbaceous · 08/11/2015 14:54

So it is, BTM! I was misled by my friend arriving and saying 'I went to York Hall first, but they pointed me in the right direction'.

herbaceous · 08/11/2015 14:54

Maybe this could be a January treat, when post-xmas gloom is beginning to set in...

Lalsy · 08/11/2015 16:01

Hell yes!

Top idea Molly

Greetings from Faro airport. Despite the onset of a stinking cold I have managed to have a damn good time, not least because I have escaped DP's concurrent manflu.

MrsSchadenfreude · 08/11/2015 16:36

Not to mention escaping Wet Fish With Tomatoes, MI. Grin

Cooked roast pork with a garlic, fennel and pepper crust, with boulangere potatoes and tenderstem broccoli for lunch, followed by toffee apple pudding. I have eaten too much...

hattymattie · 08/11/2015 17:09

MI Grin at escaping manflu.

Auriga Shock at precious friend and good luck for tonight.

Herbs - I have exactly the same thing in my right shoulder. I thought it was my handbag and bought a cross body bag but no change. I have to try to think to lower it from time to time as I feel one day I'll end up stuck like Quasi Modo. Let me know if you find any solutions.

Had reasonably nice dinner with bonkers friend and nice husband last night, I think she is a total fantasist but just go with the flow now. At least it's done and dusted for a while.

Lazy day today basking in unseasonally hot weather.

bigTillyMint · 08/11/2015 17:14

MI, result!

MrsS you lunch sounds delish. As alwaysEnvy

Rudy, it must be your exuding of style. And your swishy hairSmile

Hatty, hot weather? It's full - on autumn here!

Did some cooking whilst DH and DS were at footy in Chiswick - they won 11-0! And just been to see Brooklyn with DD - totally recommend it, but take your tissues!

hattymattie · 08/11/2015 18:16

21°C and T shirts here - unbelievable.

Have just shown DH the opening titles of The Flashing Blade which was a French children's TV series to see if he knew it. It involved hunky young men with long hair and cloaks riding about on horses very fast. This reminded me I also liked Arthur of the Britons - same thing in opening titles with the lovely Oliver Tobias. Fast forward 35 years to Poldark - nothing has changed Smile.

Spectre review by WAF: opening sequence Fantastico stylish then jaw dropping. Lea seydoux both those too. Glad Ben Wishaw has put on weight. Other than that.... Long.

wordassociationfootball · 08/11/2015 20:00

Just come back now and catching up with the publishing ep of Apprentice. Worked a lot this weekend apart from fab punky gig on Friday. I am in support bands T-shirt now. Rock and roll. Hope tonight goes well Auriga.

BeachysFlipFlops · 08/11/2015 20:28

Oh I would love a crepey spa day, on a Saturday please! Or you could all head south and invade Rose's favourite spa near here?

Bit same old, same old weekend here. I'm formulating a plan for Christmas shopping. I'd love to be one of those people who have it all done smugly by the end of November, but that is never going to happen (mainly because dd2 is sooooo nosy and snoops into everything so it's hard to find a hiding place).

Back to work tomorrow. Quite pleased to be avoiding the window fitters here, as Dylan has quite taken against one of them biggest understatement of the year.

Blackduck · 08/11/2015 20:31

BDs review of SPectre - great opening sequence, rubbish opening credits, Ben W prob best thing in it.... Bit weak overall.......

bigTillyMint · 08/11/2015 20:46

WAF I am just catching up with the children's book ep of The Apprentice. I am quiteShockAngryConfused that they think they could produce a decent book (they didnt) just like that - no comparison to top - quality books by a good children's author. Grrrrr!

motherinferior · 09/11/2015 07:57

And I'm home...with stinking cold bursting into full stream, washing to take out, CDiff being bonkers (being cut to three issues last year and frankly my sanity and novel-writing time can take the hit to my bank balance), students claiming the dog ate their homework and an extra half stone acquired over one weekend of inactivity and face-stuffing (successive enormous meals). Otoh DP is away tonight so I am spared his snuffling, which necessitates regular turning in manner of rotisserie chickenConfused.

wordassociationfootball · 09/11/2015 08:37

BTM, re the children's book ep, it was great to see Sam (and some of his team) chasing the story round and round, Mobius strip style. I don't think people realise that even a simple story requires a lot of work and thought to break it.

sometimes they drop into your head quite well formed though

wordassociationfootball · 09/11/2015 08:39

Beachy, I was a terrible snooper at my presents. Couldn't stop myself. Always regretted it.

Yes BD, the song/credits bit made DD2 squirm.

Rosebag · 09/11/2015 09:58

Welcome back MI even if it is to the lurgy and other irritants.
I will catch up with everyone's stories later....am on train to the city for appointment with theatre producer. I am all of a wibble and worrying I don't look the part. More like what I really am... A bosomy middle aged housewife with Not Enough To Do. I have had the entire contents of my wardrobe strewn over the bedroom floor several times....I am wearing black Calvin Klein jeans, a maroon scoop neck long sleeved t shirt and a long black boyfriend cardI, black suede wedge desert boots,
and a lot of No. 19.

herbaceous · 09/11/2015 10:11

In major tizz, again, about lesson this afternoon. Seem to have included enough work to last about five weeks.

Young man just came to the door offering memory foam mattresses for 'silly money', as his boss's business is closing down. WIBU to say 'no thanks'?
