Considering a year of no new clothes for 2016

Anyone else done it or considering it?

I buy a lot of clothes so it would be a huge challenge. But I own so many that I'm quite ashamed of it... Could easily not buy any for a year and still have something for every occasion.

Checking in for a quarter of the year done! Smile

Still not bought any clothes/shoes but it's been slightly more difficult this month. I've been thinking about shoes - how I'd love some Adidas Gazelles and maybe some new ankle boots... don't need either, though.

How are you all getting on?

There's another more active thread going on this:

And when was one month a quarter of the year? Think you're being slightly optimistic there ;)

GoneAndDone · 02/02/2016 09:18

I started at the end of October. I said earlier I was going to keep up with this thread as I wanted a record of mine and others who started earlier.

Won't bother posting any more.

GoneAndDone fair enough, you have done four months if you started in October, well done. Post title doesn't reflect that though for those of us jumping in and not reading the whole thread when its been languishing a few pages back is all. My apologies.

Up to you if you want to keep this thread going but it is going to appear a bit random when its left to die for a while. I don't post much on the other thread, but it is very useful for those who have all sorts of different approaches to the challenge.

Hope you keep it up, good luck

Going well here, have stayed on the wagon - can't believe we are already a quarter of the way through. Well done everyone...Smile

My challenge will be this Sunday - big day out shopping with DH and my mum who is a total shopaholic.

I need some face face cream and also have a £20 Waterstones voucher from Christmas so I'm hoping that will satisfy my urge to buy.

I've also done a quarter of a year.

As always -- it is staying out of shops that helps me.

My only challenge -- as I sew is figuring out styles and fabrics so I may go to the stores to see what I like and if I can make it myself or recreate a similar look with what I have.

Lol I thought I'd killed this thread a while back as it went so quiet Grin

Congratulations to those who have made it so far! I'm still going strong here although I have bought a jumper from a charity shop for £3!! I'm actually really enjoying it.As mentioned previously I got so fed up of having to take stuff back last year (either things were faulty or just changed my mind when I got home)

Found I have much more time on my hands rather than shopping and I've discovered some great new wardrobe combinations!

Just reporting back from Sunday's shopping trip - I bought some face cream and an eyeliner, both replacements.

That was it!!! I didn't even spend my Waterstones voucher.

So pleased with myself - although to be fair I didn't see anything I really loved, but in the past I'm sure I would have bought something.
