"One is never over-dressed or underdressed with a Little Black Dress."
— Karl Lagerfeld

Its that time of year again when our thoughts turn to winter woollies, Christmas jumpers and party dresses. Come and join our musings and purchasing, high end and high street, we love them all.

I rarely go in to M&S for similar reasons Amber, hardly ever find clothes that fit me.

Those bad boys rock Shop, definitely channelling the dramatic.

Paris sounds fab Marsha despite no shopping. Chilling in a cafe on a rainy afternoon is bliss. Good luck with bathroom shopping.

I'm in the country this weekend. Autumnal walks, apple picking, log fires and cake. Not much fashion, I'll be wearing Gap skinny jeans, checked shirt, black oversize jumper & trusty high-tops.

Have lovely days MNVers

libertydoddle · 17/10/2015 09:23

shop those boots are fabulous! Cant wait to see them at a MU sometime.

Doing a bit of work ATM, reviewing documents sitting on my bed, radio 4 on in the background. Wearing PJ's. Later taking DD to feed ducks and a long walk by the Thames and then a wander around the shops. For that will wear Paige skinnies, Nike olive trainers, dark green and beige stripe C&P top and new Theory long cardigan.

Drywhitethanks · 17/10/2015 09:30

Currently in Cath K dressing gown twee drinking coffee at kitchen table, looking at all the fallen leaves on my lawn poetic and hoping that we have a leaf Hoover because I think that could be a fun activity later Grin ....... Or maybe I'll just hope someone else does it.

Rugby widow again for the weekend will take DD to Top Shop later Winkso my plans are:

  1. Gym
  2. Shopping
3.Go to M and S and buy a ready made Chinese banquet. 4.Slob around and relax.

Planned ootd :

Black slouchy sweater
Animal print pointy flats I won't be outside for long
Camel MD coat
New BR olive green and mustard that looks camel wool checked scarf
Oh, and sod it, I might just throw on the Disco too to go to M and S Grin

I am feeling the need for a burgundy/merlot/ blackberry slouchy, longer sweater to wear with my leather skinnies.......has anyone seen any around? Have searched but not successful so far. Pref no mmf.

BerniceBobsHerHairAgain · 17/10/2015 09:51

Dry I think Me and Em had quite a few tops in that colour - ££ though. Love your outfit today.

Love the shoes Shop - you sound a lot brighter too, hope you are feeling on the mend.

blingy it is funny you said you weren't sure about the pink boots as I could actually see you in them too!

Justa have you thought about Gazelles? They are slimmer cut I think.

I like those culottes QueenC but think culottes in general are a bit hard for me to wear day to day. They seem a bit too smart.

Love hearing the OOTDs! So far am wearing a breton and black trousers, will also wear pink converse and charcoal blazer when I go out. Cold here.

Drywhitethanks · 17/10/2015 10:10

Bernice meant to say "not Me and Em prices" but.........the quality is goid so you can guess what might list certainly will happen, unless someone else pops in to rescue me Grin

QueenCardi · 17/10/2015 11:02

Morning. Boring outfit for me of grey sweatshirt and jeans but I'm just ferrying from netball/swimming/play dates all day so no need to anything else!

BerniceBobsHerHairAgain · 17/10/2015 14:46

Some lovely stuff in the and other stories sale:

Love this water lily print

And the print on this dress

statement boots

statement flats - am tempted by these.

Larastheme · 17/10/2015 15:35

I'm terribly excited , took delivery of this, I bought four ,for me,dh, and 2 dcs, the dcs were so excited when i told them that amazon delivered packages for them, they thought it was Lego Grin, I feel very bad, they were very disappointed,

And oh I got, my outnet delivery yesterday too, good stuff, I'm wearing the flats right now, with chloe oversized grey cashmere sweater, and frame denim straight legs, a bit overdressed,as I'm about to go grocery shopping right now, and taking the dcs with me,might stop buy for a treat before that, but they would rather skip and go straight to the supermarket, do all kids find supermarket trips exciting or is it just mine?

libertydoddle · 17/10/2015 18:01

Ha Lara! I can see why the DC were not as excited as you. DD loves the supermarket too.

dry I am a rugby widow today too. DH at the SA / Wales game. Did you buy anything in Topshop? He has invited people around to watch tomorrow's games here. Which means I should do some tidying....

shopafrolic · 17/10/2015 19:08

Yay Lara a successful Outnet order.
Watching Strictly and enjoying the semi naked men.....
Want to wear the pink boots but am waiting for a Collonil delivery. Definitely happy feet.

Drywhitethanks · 17/10/2015 20:15

Liberty our DHs were at the same match. Can't remember which he's at tomorrow. Dressing gown fo DD in TS. And.....I wouldn't bother tidying up, they will be watching the rugby and won't notice your house just get loads of crisps and beer in

Feeling a bit nervous watching NZ v France.

AND.....v pissed off with Hollister. Bought DDs a dress which I need to return. You can either use enclosed label, Hermes to a UK address and pay £9 or post it yourself. When you read the small print (not on website) if you post it you have to send to the Netherlands Hmm.......

justasecond · 17/10/2015 20:22

Stressful day today. DH was working and I made the mistake of taking the 3 dc shopping on my own . I need to lie down now they were so badly behaved squabbling with each other. I spent an hour in smiggle/disney shop hell. The trip was cut short with nothing purchased. I didn't even get to RB to try on lib and dry's bootsin black Unsure of sizing also wanted to see how they sit with skinny jeans. How do you find them lib or dry? Think I will try to go on my own soon.

shopafrolic · 17/10/2015 20:25

Crap from Hollister Dry do you not have a store nearby?
Lib no rugby watchers will care how tidy the house is.
DH is driving me mad tonight for no reason other than he is a bloke. I must be due on. Grin

Drywhitethanks · 17/10/2015 21:01

Grin Shop.
ReHollister, I do have one near but don't think I can return online in store, tbh my travel would be the same as the return, just annoying really.

MarshaBrady · 17/10/2015 21:05

Oh no Justa. Our bathroom shop was difficult with all the delicate stuff to look at. Told them to keep their arms by the sides didn't work

lol Shop

Great stuff Lara

If I said I saw an advert once for a store with someone holding a huge pile of presents. So all you saw was the legs slightly knocked kneed, maybe in black tights. Would you know which store it was for?

I can picture it, but not where it's from.

MarshaBrady · 17/10/2015 21:37

Found it! Harrods

libertydoddle · 17/10/2015 21:56

I haven't tried them with skinnies yet justa. Flowers for a difficult day.

I have just cleared toys from the front room and will do a beer, crisps and pizza run in the morning. You are all right. None of the people coming will give a toss about the house.

Flowers for dry too. Not France's night Sad

Drywhitethanks · 17/10/2015 22:06

Justa I've been wearing mine with skinnies, not tucked in. Love them and have had loads of positive comments. True to size and so comfy. May try tucked in with cane socks Hmm like DMBL 40

shopafrolic · 17/10/2015 22:19

I was going to say Harrods or Selfridges Marsha
We're doing kitchen stuff at the moment. I don't take ds anymore after he practiced racing cars on the granite work tops in a v posh showroom.

shopafrolic · 17/10/2015 22:21

Meant to say I finally braved taking my Joseph leather skinnies to be shortened today. Am terrified in case they mess them up but I didn't wear them much last year as they were so long. I tend to wear them with trainers so am getting them shortened to just above the ankle bone. That way they work with caged heels too. Panicking......

justasecond · 17/10/2015 22:24

thanks Lib and dry good to hear they are comfy.
forgot to day I love your Theory cardi Lib a good find there is rarely anything decent in my tkmaxx.

Longislandicetee · 18/10/2015 07:58

I might get Lara's sweater dryer as one of dmil's xmas presents. She loves that kind of stuff!

Love those dresses Bernice! Your comment about the pink shoes is interesting. I have decided this AW season to shift out of my comfort zone a little. So I am not buying any more work wear this season. I have more than enough and love my work style. I think I now love my casual style but it's safe so if there is something I see that I like that's a little out of comfort zone I will try it. If there is a gap in my wardrobe, then it's my "going out with friends" or "going out for something casual with dh" as despite my vast wardrobe it always feels like I struggle!

AmberNectarine · 18/10/2015 08:11

My kids love the supermarket. I can't cope with the squabbling so an online delivery brings it every Friday morning .

Have tried on every pair of OTK boots in the UK and none of them fit right. As such, have decided I must take the plunge and splurge on Stuart Weitzmans. Only question is whether to go flat or heeled...

QueenCardi · 18/10/2015 08:18

I'm so glad it's not just me that has squabbling kids. Hate taking mine to the supermarket as I ended up buying loads of crap like coco pops etc.
I'm cross with myself as I didn't want a hangover today but Dh and I ended up polishing off a bottle of wine each so I'm feeling a bit ropey. Lovely evening watching strictly though. I'm a little bit in love with Claudia.

QueenCardi · 18/10/2015 08:22

very posh bumbag
