Countdown to Christmas princessing

Helgathehairy · 31/08/2015 11:58

Just a short message. Every year (well for the last 3 anyway) I have started a thread for a princessing countdown to Christmas. It runs for 100 days to take us up to Christmas Eve. I'll do a proper message and links later as I need the laptop. This is the "anyone interested" thread

Oo I'm in I love these kind of threads :D

I'm pretty good about general maintenance stuff anyway, when lo turned toddler I realised it was time to revamp the wreck I had become in a few short years

My list some of which were stolen from pps:

  1. Floss daily
  2. Green tea every day
  3. Start using Philips lumea once waxed hair grows in (have already bought the White eyeliner to draw in a lumea-ing grid)
  4. Vit C serum every day
  5. No carbs until I've lost the last stone then work out a long term carb menu
  6. Yoga studio 15-30 min a day
6a. Yoga and Pilates classes at gym 3x week
  1. Moisturise body once a day
  2. Wear jewellery
  3. Cull wardrobe often
10. One early night a week 11. Facial exercises 12. Try 5:2 diet

Let's see how many of these I can make a habit!

mowglik · 08/09/2015 13:23

Oh also:

  1. Wear nice and sometimes sexy lingerie to bed instead of current fading and tatty pyjamas
Helgathehairy · 08/09/2015 15:53

A preliminary list. It's not ALL related to Princessing, some of it is home related but i just ended up putting everything in one list.

  1. Drink a mug of detox tea first thing
  2. Follow Organized Christmas cleaning/organising planning for Christmas
  3. Meal plan weekly/monthly
  4. 5:2 diet.
  5. 1.5l of water a day
  6. Shred at least 4 times a week
  7. Body brush and moisturise at least 4 times per week
  8. Micro-pedi
10. Cut down on sugar 11. Try to introduce Sunday night as a pamper night. Bath, face mask, hair mask, nails etc 13. Stop drinking Coke. 14. Get and use eye cream. 15. Try and go for an early night once a week. 16. Regular hair removal 17. Floss!!! 18. Budget, budget, budget.

Just realised my numbers are off because I was adding things and taking things out. Will fix for my ultimate list.

One filling today, I expected it. Basically i was never told/taught to brush my teeth as a child. As a result ALL of my back teeth are more filling than tooth. Apart from that they're relatively ok. Back next week for a cleaning and the dentist is going to take xrays. Bit scared to see what they might show up.

Oh also, I'm going to New York at the end of October so any advice on what to pick up. I already have a shopping list for Sephora and I'm debating Crest White Strips. Just worried as my teeth are already sensitive.

Love this thread, I'm jumping aboard!

TheWoodenSpoonOfMischief · 09/09/2015 07:30

Mowglik what kind of facial exercises are you doing and do they work?

ScarlettInSpace · 09/09/2015 10:00

I've had a nail epiphany.

I used a cuticle treatment, base coat, 2x polish & top coat this time & so far my polish is still fully intact, it has lasted 3 days without a chip or a peel! 20 years it's taken to listen to sense Grin

I'm going to do a maintenance coat with another top coat today to see if I can get it to the weekend, which will be easy as I'm not trying to fill in chips Grin

glenthebattleostrich · 09/09/2015 11:01

This fell off my list so I forgot to update.

I'm on day 3 of no d. pepsi. It has been replaced with water, although not drinking it on weekdays and having the odd glass at weekends seems to be the way forward..

I've bought a filter jug which makes it easier and means I'm doing the 3 litres of water. I'm digging out my teapot today so I can have some gingerbread tea this afternoon instead of my usual Chai tea with cream.

And i had a proper manicure at the weekend with a sheelac polish. And I've booked another for in 3 weeks. Also bought some acetone to remove them when they start to look tatty.

Now these are underway I'm going to start shredding tonight whilst DD is at rainbows. I did my measurements today and it was not good, need to loose quite a bit to fit into my nice winter / christmas clothes (w 38 inch, hips 44).

I've joined the loose weight for Christmas thread too, I'm 4lb down in 1.5 weeks, so pretty pleased with that. Back to proper low carbing, which works best for me (no way I can give up cheese!)

How is everyone else doing? Has anyone else started yet?

AWONI · 09/09/2015 11:12

I haven't started yet. Keep thinking I will and then thinking "fuck it!" and eating two Belgian buns like I did yesterday. When is 100 days before Christmas too lazy to look at calendar ? helga are you going to be our sergeant major?

mowglik · 09/09/2015 11:51

woodenspoon I bought the Ageless if you dare program years ago (it was $10 for a pdf with pics of the exercises). I've tried looking for it recently and not found any resources I'm wondering if the creator of the program has stopped selling it?

Anyway it's really good and you will see some change depending on how committed you are. The core exercises are only 10 or so I think so would take 10-15 min to do.

I need to restart them but The one I still do is the lip plumping one. It's really easy to do and visibly makes my lips look plumper so I have continued to do that one over the years

Sorry no help re actual resources, I would suggest finding a program that is not too complicated or long though to encourage you to stick with it

TheWoodenSpoonOfMischief · 09/09/2015 13:35

Thanks mowglik. I'll have a look around.
I'm trying to fit my stuff in but potty training is getting the better of me. I hate it.
Helga please be sergeant major. I need shouty get off your arse and get on with it motivation.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/09/2015 16:48

I did some wardrobe culling today (and filling a bag to recycle)

I need a couple of long , lightweight cardigans (Primark buttonless ones if I can get the colours I want) to go over some vest tops (hot flushes to layers are good).

DD and I are going up Larndan on Saturday.
Huge Primark on Tottenham Ct Road, the big H&M near (IIRC Oxford Circus) and I'll buy some nice jumpers from Uniqlo (Regent St)

I have grown to accept my browner hair now , DD calls it my Autumn colour (just because she CBA doing the fiddly highlights again Grin ), but I think it needs an overwash with a copper red to lift it,

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/09/2015 16:52

AWONI - we're at 106 days now.
So you;ve got a few days grace if you want to wait till 100.

ScarlettInSpace · 09/09/2015 19:30

I found this today on a running site I look at, looks quite achievable as a 30 day kickstart?

Countdown to Christmas princessing
Helgathehairy · 09/09/2015 21:39

It's 106 days to Christmas Day but traditionally we count down to Xmas eve. Not even certain why. So in 5 days I'll start a new thread where we will countdown and I will shout at people!! But only if people promise to shout at me.

Long pixie cut done yesterday. Now just need to remember how to style it.

Helgathehairy · 10/09/2015 10:12

Sigh. DD is teething and isn't sleeping well and when awake is cranky and whinging a LOT. As a result I had 2 cups of coffee and 3 of tea yesterday and a lot of bread.

When I last did this and switched my morning mug of tea for detox tea I actually didn't notice

OP posts:
AWONI · 10/09/2015 10:25

Brew (herbal) and Cake (entirely made of vegetables) for you helga

I am definitely not sitting here eating a fried egg/white bread sarnie with my second cup of coffee. Hell no....

Helgathehairy · 10/09/2015 19:34

awoni I'm not so sure herbal tea and veggie cake is going to cut it. Managed to stick to one cup of coffee and 2 teas today but also had a chocolate eclair and some kind of apple bun and chocolate! Did have lots of stir fried cabbage with diner.

Morning weigh (I'm not regular with the weigh in , too disenchanted to do it regularly, but I'm now at 11st dead on . I was 11.6 at my heaviest , so it's progress but slow)

Off for a long shower now to use up some more bathroom hang-around toilettries.

See, I'm Princessing/Low Spend/Ashamed of Beauty Haul in one fell swoop Grin

hookedonamoonagedaydreem · 12/09/2015 18:08

Right, I need to make my list. I read this thread back at the end of August and meant to do it then. Marking place...

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 12/09/2015 19:19

Diet has been shocking most of last week, a curry, pizza and McDonald's breakfast. Birthday next week but I've refused to buy a cake, OH doesn't so in the past I've bought my own Grin

Kept up with skincare and electrocuting myself nightly so hoping for some results by the end of the month. Just shelled out the princely sum of 2 pounds for some witch hazel, hoping it will help with crater like pores. A constant reminder of the spotty shy teen I was many moons ago.

And exciting and quite sad but I saw Christmas puds on sale!

Helenagrace · 13/09/2015 09:17

I lost 4lb last week and played hockey and did a zumba class. Epic fail on the "drink less coffee" front though. Perils of working from home! Might buy a new water bottle to keep by my desk because new purchases always solve problems right?Grin
