Countdown to Christmas princessing

Helgathehairy · 31/08/2015 11:58

Just a short message. Every year (well for the last 3 anyway) I have started a thread for a princessing countdown to Christmas. It runs for 100 days to take us up to Christmas Eve. I'll do a proper message and links later as I need the laptop. This is the "anyone interested" thread

I'm in, I started this way back when (under different account) - I'm still moisturising daily, only drink herbal tea/water and alcohol regular steam/saunas and swim/gym regularly. My skin has changed beyond recognition. I used to have those pimply upper arms now I think they are my favourite part of my body.

I still need to lose about 4 pounds but I'm doing more weights at the gym which is not helping. I think I'm going to switch from weighing myself to measuring body parts Wink

I now just need to cut back on the alcohol, I seem to have turned into an all or nothing binge drinker which is not good. I don't drink for four or five days then the gin or red wine calls.

I also need to cut back on refined sugar and aim for more fruit/veg in my diet, this always goes tits up in the holidays. Once school's go back I will be on it.

So:-

  1. Cut back alcohol, no more than 3 glasses in one night - replace drinking with weekly manicure, pedicure, face mask
  2. Measure waist, hips, thighs, arms
  3. Cut back refined sugar & replace with veg or fruit

I feel this is achievable and fired up I am so not a princess but I love the concept of it all

InQuiteAPickle · 01/09/2015 08:25

I need to:

  1. Drink more water.
  2. Drink less beer.
  3. Eat more fruit and veg.
  4. Buy better clothes Grin. This one will be a hard one but I think I can manage it. Grin
  5. Use body lotion.
  6. Look after hands and feet.
glenthebattleostrich · 01/09/2015 08:33

Well getting up at 5.45 was fun (first day back at work)

I've had yogurt for breakfast with tea and a large glass of cordial (water in my house tasted vile so will need a filter jug).

Will either shred or run tonight. Leaning towards shred as its over quicker!

BiddyPop · 01/09/2015 08:39
  1. Drink more water - am rubbish at this, although lots of very milky and weak tea
  1. Drink less alcohol (except over family wedding overseas - survival mechanism!!)
  1. Remember to make lunch for work daily (big box of veggies) - working on losing 1 st to start, of at least 3
  1. Remember to make, and drink, breakfast smoothies (raspberries, blueberries, oats, mixed seeds, almond butter, natural yoghurt and apple juice)
  1. Continue wardrobe cull - started over summer but still some way to go
  1. Use body lotion - stretch marks
  1. Use hand cream - whitloes and dry skin
  1. Keep nails nicely shaped to prevent breakages
  1. Get eyebrows back under control
  1. Use facial scrub more regularly to stop breakouts (you'd think I was a teenager sometimes!)

  2. Remember facial moisturizer and serum - early 40s and wrinkles are appearing

  3. Deep condition hair - frizz head!

  4. Remember to buy fruit to eat at workdesk (and no chocolate!)

That'll do for starters....

PurpleSkyatthewateringhole · 01/09/2015 08:46

Angelica- I use to garnier summer body every other day or every third day. It really depends on how much I have exfoliated off.

worldgonecrazy · 01/09/2015 08:59

I'm in. When I princess I:

  1. At least 30 minutes exercise 5 times a week. Usually 30 day shred, but I'm hoping to up my game to Banish Fat Boost Metabolism which is a 45 minute work out.
  2. Reduced carbs for lunch (otherwise I would binge on pasta salad every day).
  3. No alcohol during the week.
  4. Exfoliate body every day (use a body loofah to save time)
  5. Facial exfoliation once a week.
  6. I can't afford manicures at the moment, but I promise to trim my nails neatly and use hand cream when I remember.
  7. Drink more green tea and water.
PrimalLass · 01/09/2015 09:20

Pre-Princessing short list:

Eyebrows - I look like a 70-year-old man
Nails
Hair dye
Water
Pick up new smoothie blender from Tesco, and some frozen fruit (etc.)

Helgathehairy · 01/09/2015 09:35

olddear the only money involved is what you want to spend yourself. Some people get lots of lotions and potions, some people go natural and make face masks from what is in their kitchen.

iamanintrovert · 01/09/2015 11:00

I'm doing pretty well. I need to start with some fake tanning lotion, keep up my exercise which is gradually increasing naturally as my youngest moves into toddlerhood, and keep the wine/desserts/portion sizes under control to lose a little bit of fat on my tummy/hips.

Karcheer · 01/09/2015 12:27

I'm going to try and wear things from my 37 item capsule wardrobe.
Keep on top of my maintenance beauty.
Follow kayla Itsines diet and exercise plan.
And sit on a ball at work.

I've had a good breakfast, healthy snack and drinking green tea.
Arranged to meet my friend at the gym later, we normally bail and of coffee instead!

Olddear · 01/09/2015 13:48

Helgathehairy, thanks! But I was making a wee joke! There's a lot needing done to princess me!

Karcheer · 01/09/2015 13:51

Just had a healthy lunch and finished the bottle of water on my desk that I've been nursing since last week!
I really need to get my eyebrows threaded but this will have to wait till at least Friday I think...

Helgathehairy · 01/09/2015 16:11

olddear whoops - I got worried you thought this was some kind of subscription service!

Well I've done nothing very princessy but I have sorted all of DDs clothes. She's just turned two and some of her clothes in her drawers was too small. So everything too small or too big vacuum bagged and put into plastic boxes for DH to put in the attic at the weekend.

OP posts:
Olddear · 01/09/2015 17:32

That's ok Helga! It was kind of you trying to help me!

Karcheer · 01/09/2015 20:54

I've had a good day. Happy with everything I've done! I've even been to the gym :)
The only thing I didn't do was the housework but I suspect princesses don't do that anyway!

AWONI · 01/09/2015 22:17

I'm in! When we starting?

Donge13 · 02/09/2015 00:34

I'm in! Will post my list tomorrow.

chipsandpeas · 02/09/2015 09:21

I'm in will post my list later

HeffalumpsnWoozles · 02/09/2015 09:32

My list would be,

  1. Drink more water
  2. Take make up off every night no matter how tired
  3. Moisturise twice daily
  4. Deep condition hair at least once a week
  5. Walk at least 30 minutes a day
  6. Use exercise bike for things other than clothes hanging
  7. Eat healthier, less sugar and carbs
  8. Self tan weekly
  9. Use Philips Lumea every 2 weeks
10. Make sure nails are polished not just old chipped varnish

Sure there's going to be a lot more added but it's a start.

Allgunsblazing · 02/09/2015 09:47

I'm in :)

Helgathehairy · 02/09/2015 14:26

I need to work on my own list. Definitely more water, keep taking my folic acid, floss every day, stick with my skincare routine now I've found something that suits my extremely reactive skin.

Less wine

Long walk every Sunday

Want to lose a stone in weight ( have a carribean holiday booked ) by Christmas

From a previous Princess thread I still make regular hair cut and beauty salon appointments , but the alcohol intake has gone up again

NickNackNooToYou · 02/09/2015 16:43

Day 2 of no obvious sugars (cake, sweets, biscuits etc), I feel shocking! Think it's a sugar withdrawal, I am still eating fruit so it's not too bad.

Instead of having a cheeky vino last night I sewed on some name tapes to school uniform. Hopefully this might stop them going walk about plus it took my mind off having a drink. So win win Grin

It's the Bake Off tonight so Lord knows how I'm going to watch it without something sweet, this will be a test of my resolve.

WaxyBean · 02/09/2015 18:12

  • keep toe nails painted with gel nail polish

  • get clothes ready for the next day before I go to bed
  • use Philips Lumea regularly
