Too Old For Nike Air Max?

INeedEarplugs · 08/08/2015 23:50

Is there such a thing? If there is, what age would be too old for Nike Air Max?

How did a thread about trainers decend into bitching? Confused

AmberNectarine · 11/08/2015 20:31

Don't flatter yourself love, I couldn't give a shiny one.

INeedEarplugs · 11/08/2015 20:34

Thoughts on these?

hotCoco because this is MN and some people just have to be right.

AmberNectarine · 11/08/2015 20:35

INeed I really like those - think they'd go with a lot.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 11/08/2015 20:36

Sorry, Earplugs, but I don't like those at all. However, as we keep saying on the thread (well, most of us!) - if YOU like them, then wear them!

INeedEarplugs · 11/08/2015 20:38

Remus and Amber - thank you! So hard to find my size - almost all colorways are OOS!

OP posts:
Floisme · 11/08/2015 21:23

Although Amber is perfectly capable of standing up for herself, I think the difference, Deez, is that she doesn't sneer at people because they have different tastes or are the 'wrong' demographic.

Lottapianos · 12/08/2015 12:14

I think you and I have very similar tastes INeed, coz I love those too! Jeez they're pricey though.

paxtecum · 12/08/2015 12:26

I defended the S&B board on a feminism thread saying how supportive and kind the posters are - not so sure now!

CrystalMcPistol · 12/08/2015 12:36

Because of one poster?

Yes that makes sense. Report back to FWR with your findings.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/08/2015 12:51

Why would it need defending?

CrystalMcPistol · 12/08/2015 13:11

Because we're flighty flibbertigibbets who urge all women to have a facelift for their 30th birthday.

Or something.

BritabroadinAsia · 12/08/2015 13:35

Mid forties and (along with my similarly aged mates) wear Adidas Superstars, Nike Roshe, Converse (but do find them a little too flat for my ageing bones) New Balance and Saucony for when I want to pretend to be a Serious Runner.

Do not go gentle into that good night, OP. Ignore the naysayer and get yourself some trainers, your feet will thank you and you will undoubtedly look stylish too.

INeedEarplugs · 12/08/2015 13:44

BritabroadinAsia - hi! :) I actually have several pairs of trainers (3 Converse, 1 Adidas, 1 Vans Beatles, and 1 Nike Lunarlon which turned out to be Air Max when I checked the box). I realised something - I like the Nike Air Max 90 silhouette the best among the Air Max's. And it's the one that looks most retro. I bought the white ones. Now I want a colourful pair.

There's a new one in the shops that reminds me of Roshe Run, but sleeker.

INeed, I have the Vans Beatles hi tops too! Right, you are my new style icon and fashion consultant Wink

INeedEarplugs · 12/08/2015 14:04

Lottapianos - if you like Dr Martens, ripped jeans, flares (they're back!

paxtecum · 12/08/2015 14:05

Some feminist on FWR said how annoying they find S & B is because they just witter on about expensive handbags.

I replied and the posters on S & B are always so lovely and helpful when someone is trying to find an outfit for an occasion and to me, that is a great example of women helping each other.

It is rare to read sarky, objectional comments on S & B.

hotCocolepew · 12/08/2015 14:09

I have Blondie hi top Converse Grin

Lottapianos · 12/08/2015 14:11

Big yes to DMs and statement shoes, not so sure about ripped jeans and flares. A bit of a guilty 'yes' to the shoe addiction, but no heels - trainers, boots, loafers, brogues and sandals, that's my lot

Lottapianos · 12/08/2015 14:12

Statement shirts, d'oh!

I'm a feminist too btw!

Floisme · 12/08/2015 15:06

Its a bit disappointing to hear there are still people who believe you can't be a feminist and like clothes.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 12/08/2015 17:17

Oh I like wittering on about clothes, although I'm v much not in the expensive handbag brigade. I like wittering on about cooking too, so I suppose the feminists would hate me. Hey ho.

I like those, INeed. They look as if they'd go with lots of things and be really easy to wear.

BritabroadinAsia · 12/08/2015 17:26

ineed, I really like those Nike Elite Shinsen... Not sure I can justify another pair this month but will keep them on the radar, thanks for the link!

And yy to those expressing dismay at the 'wittering on about expensive handbags' jibe. I lurk very comfortably on the feminist boards, but really thought we'd moved on from that.

Lottapianos · 12/08/2015 18:26

Remus, I AM a feminist and I'm on here all the time! Feminists would be the first to defend your interest in clothes and beauty!
