That will flatter a 5'3 on-the-way-to-past-it mum? I can't find the threads. Love musto, Henri l, etc.

Super, thanks. I guess I have my Musto full length (completely unflattering) amazingly dry and everything-resistant in extremes. ! Thanks for all the comments x

What's the sizing like on the Didrikson like? I'm a size 12 with big boobs!

Darkchocsprinkles · 23/07/2015 20:11

I tried a few Didriksons earlier in the year - I would say they are true to size, and a very flattering fit.

I want a red Whitney too. Have done for ages Grin

margaritasbythesea · 23/07/2015 20:36

If only it was half a thigh longer or £50 cheaper!

I am a bit worried about the pockets making tge silhouette chunky too.

NinkyNonkers · 23/07/2015 22:03

My seasalt coat comes to just below my knee, and I'm 5'8".

Darkchocsprinkles · 23/07/2015 22:22

I resisted last year. I can be strong again.

I can.

PrimalLass · 23/07/2015 22:35

Yay daimbardiva - we can wear our lovely Mary coats and be toasty this July in Scotland, I had the heating on today winter.

Chicinwellies · 24/07/2015 07:21

Oh. So the Wolfskin is perfect to size, flattering, and a bargain at £50 with cashback too. However, it isn't going to keep me dry in torrential rainy dog walkies where I would love to maintain a teeny bit of style. May have to send it back, unless anyone else would like me to post them the ice on a 10? I like the Mary, I really do, not sure it is The One. Don't worry, I'm like this with long brown boots too.......:0)

PS on the seafront yesterday a lady was wearing this and it looks Amazzzzing on her. She did look like Natalie imbroglia though.

Also, does anyone have any nice Barbours, hooded, longer, flattering they can recommend

My Mary from Didrikson is on its way! I didn't even know I needed a new coat until I saw this thread. Confused

Chicinwellies · 24/07/2015 12:14

Oh.
My Iceguard and I have just been out for a walkies with the dogs.

It is not waterproof!

Lovely coat though...... The quest continues...x

That's disappointing, Chic, I've never got wet in mine.

PrimalLass · 24/07/2015 15:01

Other people spending money makes me feel so much less guilty Grin

Lndnmummy · 24/07/2015 19:27

Never been wet in didiksson, I am from the small coastal village in Sweden where they make them and have grown up in them. Have never failed me. Have seen me through some dodgy sailing trips and swedish skiing winters over the years. Oh and a reflux baby too ;)

I got a 12 in my latest one which was a model called Thelma. It was a snug fit (have large bust) but some other models have more room and I can manage a 10. They are true to size. They have an outlet in Sweden called Hannas in Grundsund. They might deliver to uk? Their webplatform will probably break under MN traffic....

Silverturnip · 24/07/2015 19:42

I've bought the Didrikson Karen this morning from Viking and it's been dispatched already!

lovingmatleave · 26/07/2015 20:16

Chicinwllies - thank you so much! I ordered the Jack Wolfskin Iceguard following this thread earlier. Got it today and thought oh dear doesn't look like it will keep me very dry. Only way would have been to test it, but thankfully you have and confirmed it. I will need to send mine back and start my search again. Nice as it is, I need waterproof.

lovingmatleave · 26/07/2015 20:19

ooh the Didrikson Karen looks nice. Silverturnip where did you order yours from . Cheapest I can see is £84, which I would pay but just wondering if it is cheaper elsewhere.

squiz81 · 26/07/2015 22:30

I've just ordered the jack wolf skin ice guard from Amazon. It was £54, plus if you go through quidco you get 5% cash back.

It looks too thin to be warm, but I'm trusting the reviews!

AllPizzasGreatAndSmall · 26/07/2015 22:54

What is the sizing like on the Jack Wolfskin Iceguard? I want to be able to wear a thin jumper and t-shirt under without it being too snug, I have a Merrell Ellenwood in XS and that fits nicely but wondering whether to go for XS or S.

Chillywhippet · 26/07/2015 23:17

I got this last winter:

www.gooutdoors.co.uk/berghaus-cinderdale-mac-womens-p305124

I'm just over 5 ft and it's a great length. There's a bit pulled in on the back waist so it has a bit of shape. The lining isn't bulky so it's not too puffed up. I'm sure there are warmer coats with thicker linings but I'm too short to do that look.

It's really waterproof and the fur bit zips off the hood for spring but I like it in winter.

I paid less than that for it in Go outdoors sale I think.

Oldraver · 27/07/2015 00:21

I have a Jack Wolfskin 3 in 1 parka and I am nearer 18 than 16 and the xl fits nicely

squiz81 · 27/07/2015 07:35

I want a Didrikson after this thread now! I'm having to remind myself I live in Essex with a 2 minute school run....I don't necessarily need a coat that can cope with sub zero temperatures Grin

Chicinwellies · 28/07/2015 08:03

The Wolfskin for me was completely true to size, not small, a 10 was definately a 10, for me, at 5'5 perfect length too.
lovingmatleave no problem, let me know what you go for !
