On a broken-down train to Norfolk. Sure has let me down but Innisfree no-sebum is holding up. K-beauty WIN.

lucysmam · 04/07/2015 17:17

I need some of the no sebum powder! Being stuck on a broken down train must be horrible in the heat Scrambled Sad

XiCi, I presume it would take the place of the snail gel? Rather than using both at the same time? Smile

lucysmam · 04/07/2015 17:20

Did you get to grips with Instagram Scrambled? I'm following some of the bloggers on there but cba with filling it up like fb with 'friends' iyswim so haven't posted anything on there.

ScrambledSmegs · 04/07/2015 19:50

Kind of - I've just followed the bloggers I like then occasionally search for stuff like k-beauty etc. I don't post though because I've reached saturation point on social media!!

GrimDamnFanjo · 04/07/2015 21:18

Anyone ordered recently from missha.de ?
I ordered on 21 June - no parcel yet - should I send out a search party?

lucysmam · 04/07/2015 21:30

ah, same as me then. It serves to keep the blogs I like and some of the companies in one place I suppose.

I've never ordered from them Grim, sorry.

Silverstreaks · 04/07/2015 21:35

I've had a delivery from Misshapen.de Grim and it seemed to take ages considering we're all Europe. It was over a week, I had a delivery from Korea in the same amount of time!

GrinAndTonic · 04/07/2015 23:09

I managed to track down some fruity clearasil pads that contain salicyllic acid. It's the best I could find. When, in your routine, do you use them? After cleansing and before toning?

mowglik · 04/07/2015 23:19

grin I use BHA toner after cleansing and vitamin C serum.

I've been wearing a full face of makeup all day since 11am and it's now 11pm and my makeup has held up well and my skin has produced a fraction of the oil it usually does. Amazing in this heat. Credit to innisfree no sebum powder, am officially replacing mac blot powder which I have used for about 12 years.

Also used an MBD hyaluronic acid mask which was lovely, lovely scent, enough serum to get 2 uses out of the mask and no dry patches on my face - really like it. Will do a scheming mask again next to compare

Did anyone buy the LJH tea tree essence? I have bought a tosoowong alternative on eBay for £6.50 will see how that goes. Also looking for a sleep mask for oily/spotty skin but don't think there is one having searched high and low!

ScrambledSmegs · 04/07/2015 23:20

I used them post-cleansing. They're a bit rough so it works best if you pat the smoother side over your clean face, otherwise you risk irritating your face too much.

Does anyone know of a good stockist for History of Whoo products? I really love the look of their lipsticks, would love to get some but can't find where to buy from.

AmazingDisgrace · 04/07/2015 23:20

NomoreMrRight try the Mizon placenta cream if the name doesn't put you off..very rich and moisturising

lucysmam · 05/07/2015 19:15

Gosh it's quiet in here today.

We've been at a birthday party this afternoon, weather was lovely and warm so decided to walk home...BAD idea! We got caught in a thunderstorm & did our very bestest drowned rat impersonations

It brightened up as we got home Hmm

I will be sheetmasking and relaxing while toenail painting tonight.

On the subject of feet - they are very peely now but by gosh it's taking a loooong time! Hopefully they'll fully peel before dp's mum gets married in AUGUST! Confused The Tony Moly foot peels get good reviews - might try one of those next and hope for faster peeley-ness.

bigbuttons · 05/07/2015 20:13

lucy it took my feet about 2 weeks to fully peel

lucysmam · 05/07/2015 20:28

Oh, I'll try being more patient for 'final' results then...

AmazingDisgrace · 05/07/2015 22:03

Just out the shower, as I looked in the mirror it occurred to me that bloody hell my skin looks amazing! Thank you Korea Grin

mowglik · 05/07/2015 23:06

Having a bad skin day today, nothing in particular skin just looks muddy and not fresh like it has lately. I started retinol last night and wondering if it makes ur skin look bad before it looks better??

Too tired for a sheet mask but will have a sort through my skin care stuff which always makes me happy and try my tony moly magic brightening massage pack tonight

XiCi · 06/07/2015 09:25

mowglik I went through the same with retinol. I read that it purges the skin from a deep level so to expect breakouts and blocked pores for 2-3 weeks. Think it affects oily skin more. It's definitely worth sticking with though, I had some lines on my upper lip that have all but disappeared, was quite amazed really. I'd been considering getting some filler before the retinol but don't need it now

ScrambledSmegs · 06/07/2015 10:39

I did my second retinol application last night mowglick and I have to admit, I'm not wowed by the results yet either. No more spots for me at the moment, but that's probably because my skin's been purging itself prior to the retinol and they're taking a while to go Hmm.

Funnily enough though, from being my least successful K-beauty purchase, the Snail Recovery Gel has shot to the top of the list. It's brilliant for using to heal skin irritated by retinol, I haven't peeled at all yet and my skin feels calm.

lucysmam · 06/07/2015 11:26

It would seem the Benton Aloe Propolis gel is not for me. I used it on Saturday and last night in place of the snail gel and woke up both yesterday and today with a collection of tiny white heads on my face Sad

All is not lost though - I read a suggestion on reddit to use it on excema so will keep hold of it for now and try it on dd1 should she have another flare up.

I'm still waiting on my Hada Labo ...both posties have been already & nothing for me today Sad

ScrambledSmegs · 06/07/2015 12:26

Oh, that's a shame Lucysmam Sad Have you left the seller some feedback, or contacted them in any way? I'd let them know that you've received the wrong order (check your emails from them at point of purchase first).

BTW I've finally got the hang of emulsifying my cleansing oil properly (as per PbunnieP). It's a real faff to do, but it means that my face feels much cleaner just before cleansing round 2. I think it must be doing my skin some good because it feels less clogged now.

lucysmam · 06/07/2015 13:44

Yes, I emailed via the ebay contact thingy to let them know I had the wrong products but since I was interested in Benton anyway I'd keep them and try them . Half wishing I'd asked for what I did actually order now though.

They were apologetic about it. These things happen I guess & I might have wanted to try them at some point anyway.

Still the Aloe Propolis bha to try but will leave that until these little whiteheads do one over the next couple of days, hopefully!

mowglik · 06/07/2015 14:16

Im going to do my second retinol application today and I used mizon snail recovery gel too last night as my skin felt a little stingy and it feels lovely today. Will stick it out with the retinol as I really want to go forward with solid actives in my routine as well as all the nice layering essences etc. I used to use micro retin A years ago and hated the peeling but I probably didn't do as much post retin care so hoping for a better experience this time!

Ive just used my second my scheming mask (birds nest) and it really is lovely. My favourite brand of sheet masks so far, I will be purchasing a box or three of these once I have worked my way through my current stash. Loads of serum left as well enough for a second application which makes these more cost effective than the other sheet masks I've tried. Skin feels really soft and smooth and a little better than yesterday clarity wise. I think I need a spreadsheet to keep track of my thoughts on the different sheet masks

I was looking at the reddit discussions and pics of over 40 ladies that use AB products and realised that while they all had gorgeous skin the most noticeable thing that was ageing was thinner and droopier upper eyelid skin.
I just realised that I have stopped using my eye cream so need to get back on that horse - will look for AB eye cream options once mine runs out, the sulwhasoo stuff sounds great!

lucysmam · 06/07/2015 14:34

I almost daren't ask - are real birds nests involved in the production of birds nest products? I'm going to have a google later on and see what I can find.

I've spent the day altering and repairing bits and bobs of clothing and curtains (am going to get dp's mum to do the second curtain - my eyes are a bit like the Confused face's eyes atm). Sheet mask tonight and possibly some cucumber to sooothe my eyes too. On the subject of cucumber - I saw fake cucumber eye patches in town the other day, they were more expensive than a whole cuc Hmm

FrugalFashionista · 06/07/2015 15:48

Hi everyone! Glad to see that the thread is still going strong! I've just read about seven pages... I'm feeling super refreshed after many days spent on the beach. The trip was lovely, now we'll pack for a week and on Sunday we will leave Italy. It's 35C in Rome so getting out of here will be a relief.

But I think you might be more interested in skincare news Wink I did sheet masks most evenings, super hydrating and relaxing BB creams and my Missha cushion were great, they saved my trip. I needed coverup because my skin was not in great shape, I found quickly that I don't get on with CosRx. After using it four or five times, I had five acne cysts, all in areas where I never get breakouts: the worst of them, let's call it Algernon II Wink was like a throbbing boil. My skin started healing immediately after I stopped CosRx and all is well now except that I have some PIH on my cheek Sad Lesson learned - I suspect the carrier medium in CosRx products is pore-blocking for me, my Nip+Fab BHA pads have arrived while I was gone, looking forward to trying them next. Also looking forward to chemical exfoliation tonight, my skin feels gross because I have avoided AHAs for two weeks!

If anyone fancies trying CosRx AHA/BHA or Blackhead Power, tempt me with a swap...

I also found the Innisfree green tea capsule recipe pod a bit meh. It has a very strong fougere type smell that I did not enjoy - nothing green tea like about it at all, just loud and obnoxious like a guy who has doused himself in aftershave. Very happy that I am not stuck with a huge jar.

Oh, and one more thing: while we were gone, I've got a note from Poste Italiane. A customs fee to pay, and they say that they will return the parcel after five days
