Oh your poor dd Scrambled Sad I typed without reading first. Hope she's not too sore or itchy.

I took dd1 to a&e last summer after she came off the swing & split straight between her brows. 4 hours bloomin' wait was not fun.

I mean where they glued being sore or itchy btw - dd1's forehead was itchy when it was glued.

lucysmam · 13/07/2015 21:12

Well, the egg masks are not the least bit eggy Grin But it does feel nice and refreshing, and has a quite subtle but pleasant smell. Loads of essence on it too.

Wonder how well I can eat the ice cream I fancy while wearing it Hmm

goodasitgets · 14/07/2015 02:27

My BB cream came Grin and had two samples with it, both tony moly. One is the dual sleeping pack, the other avocado cream
Any recommendations for a sleeping mask/pack for combination skin? I'm trying to find one without loads of silicones

ScrambledSmegs · 14/07/2015 07:53

Thanks lucysmam and Gerti, she's absolutely fine. It was a bit of an adventure for her I think. She's not itchy or sore at the moment lucysmam, but I suppose as it heals it might be.

How's your DD's brow now, did it leave a scar?

Goodal Waterest Oil used last night. It goes on like a facial oil but it's not oily if that makes any sense! It does seem to be very deeply moisturising. I also seem to have slightly less of a greasy sheen on my face this morning.

lucysmam · 14/07/2015 09:18

Unfortunately, yes, it left a scar right between her brows. I have one from a similar incident too.

My face feels lovely this morning, all soft Grin The Max Factor foundation I thought was too dark actually looks better on my nice fresh face & I have no random flakiness from where I had used the fucidin on the big cysts last week!

Very happy bunny Grin

ilovetosleep · 14/07/2015 09:42

Just wanted to say to frugal I hope the move is going well!

ScrambledSmegs · 14/07/2015 09:50

Oh, that's a shame Lucysmam. Hopefully it will fade over time.

lucysmam · 14/07/2015 10:17

Hopefully. I actually don't mind most scars - they're part of who you are and what you've done iyswim? Sort of tell a story.

mowglik · 14/07/2015 10:40

Hope your dd is ok scrambled knowing kids you were probably more traumatised than she was!

I've ordered the waterest water oil too on the basis of fanserviced-b's post. I have oily skin but love using oils and hydrating products so really looking forward to receiving this one.

So yesterday I got grits!! Finally! Been reading on reddit and blogs about how oil cleansing can cause sebum plugs or 'grits' to come out of your pores and how satisfying it is. I could never get any out but tried fiftyshadessnail's method and yesterday I got 4 or 5 out. They look like little black hairs, quite gross but soo satisfying, will do that once a week I think

mowglik · 14/07/2015 10:44

lucysmam I agree with what you say about scars, they add character to a face i think, my dh has one on his eyebrow and I find it quite attractive

Btw what did yoi (lucysmam) think of the hada labo face wash? I have oily skin like you and wondering if it's a good idea to get a hydrating face wash or go for a more astringent or clarifying one as finally running out of my dermalogica resurfacing wash does little dance

GrinAndTonic · 14/07/2015 11:58

The apple peeling gel finally arrived and it did make my skin feel smoother but I don't think I'll buy it again. It's not that fabulous.
However.....
My hollika hollika Aqua petit jelly turned up and I luffs it. The colour is perfect for my skin tone and lasted all day. I did half my face initially to compare and even DH was amazed.
On a different note, snail cream gel is great for putting on the dry chapped noses of geriatric pug dogs.

GrinAndTonic · 14/07/2015 12:00

Mowglik we must have redditing together. I used a clay mask and oil massage and nothing happened. I feel so let down.

lucysmam · 14/07/2015 12:19

It's not me with the HL face wash mowglik, although it is on my to try list -it gets mixed reviews on reddit from what I've read; some people seem to find it quite stripping, others love it.

Has anyone else noticed we're slowing down filling the threads up now we're all settling into routines? Although I have a novelty item and 'to try' list as long as my arm these days Grin

GrinAndTonic · 14/07/2015 12:28

I'm still confused as to what goes on when but I will admit to spending an awful lot of time reading Asian beauty blogs.
I think we will always pop on here to find out new things as others buy them.
So thank you for this thread. My skin is better then it has been in a while.

mowglik · 14/07/2015 14:14

grin I expected grit city after doing that whole routine but only got 4/5 bits out.. Maybe we need to be massaging longer, I did have to massage about 3 minutes before anything came out, I might try timing the 5 full minutes and see how that goes. Am wary of broken capillaries though so don't want to massage too long

ScrambledSmegs · 14/07/2015 14:58

I think the first time you massage you get the most gunk coming out of your pores, then every time after it can be a tad disappointing. You can actually keep going as long as you have enough slip (add oil if you feel friction) and make tiny, gentle motions. emulsifying ensures that the oil is removed and doesn't plug up your pores.

Ive still got a couple of cystic spots. I don't think they're 'normal' so I'm going to put some fucidin on them later - thanks for the idea, Lucysmam! I do agree with you about scars, however right now I'm still thinking she's my PFB and I want her to be perfect and whole again. Typical crazy mum, I know Grin

lucysmam · 14/07/2015 15:04

I know what you mean about her being your pfb, I was as distraught as dd1 when she cut her head Grin

Be careful with the fucidin - only put it where you do need it. I tend to have a peely layer of skin once the spots are pretty much gone.

NewsreaderChic · 14/07/2015 15:08

I've noticed how we've slowed down, but I guess it's inevitable now we've spent a fortune and established a routine. Sorry to hear about all the poorly children, hope they all get better soon.

I met my DSis today feeling that I looked all glowy, but in a good way thanks to zero sebum powder. We had a good catch up over lunch, the. When I got in the car I saw my reflection which was awful. Flaky skin all around my nose and on my cheeks, super highlighted by cc cream that had settled into every wrinkle. I Was hoping she'd notice how great I was looking, but now I know why she didn't comment!
