Just got an email from MisshaEe with details of a sale this weekend, up to 50% off, time to stock up on cushions?

ilovetosleep · 03/07/2015 10:33

I'm really tempted by bravura actually, the 5% glycolic toner is only £8 and the delivery time is much more bearable! They also do a lactic acid treatment that sounds nice for my sensitive skin.

ilovetosleep · 03/07/2015 10:34

Also you've all got my lusting after the sulwhasoo fgs

mowglik · 03/07/2015 12:00

re pH adjusting toners I looked into this and found a few options: witch hazel if your skin doesn't mind it is a good stop gap til you find something a bit nicer. AB choices: etude house pore freshner, mizon AHA/BHA daily clean toner, Cosrx AHA/BHA toner. The etude and Cosrx are not too expensive under a tenner i think and worth a look

Used an innisfree aloe mask on wednesday night, it was baking in my house so looked for something cooling. Sat the pouch on an ice pack first and my word that felt good! Quality wise, it was ok but didn't attach well esp around the jaw and chin. Not enough serum to use the next day or rub all over my body which I like to do lol. Felt very soothing though and my skin the next day was lovely and glowy

Trying out my first mbd mask today hopefully it will be up there with my scheming masks

ScrambledSmegs · 03/07/2015 12:35

I had 3 parcels delivered this morning. The postman gave me such a look Blush.

4 sample pots of Banila Clean It Zero, the Petit Jelly BB cream and the lovely Beauty of Joseon cream. It's such a pretty jar, I almost don't want to open it.

Luckily I've taken DD2 swimming and got splashed full in the face with salt water, so I'm going to go and have a midday wash and reapply makeup. Yay, I get to try my new stuff! Cleanser and BB for now, I think. Cream maybe later.

Oh, and I may have discovered the reason behind my bad skin. I'll tell you in another post, because this one's getting a bit long and dull and I also need to work up to telling you something that makes me look like a total idiot...

bigbuttons · 03/07/2015 12:38

The bravura one is the ginseng tonerSmile

Gertrudetrudy · 03/07/2015 13:35

Hi everyone, been taking a break from the thread as I was obsessing on eBay!

Turns out the Skin returning Asol isn't for me - let it do the purging period and didn't mix it with other actives but my acne wouldn't heal!

Normally my spots heal as fast as they appear i.e. I always have spots but they're always new ones. Anyway the asol didn't seem to be allowing them to heal iyswim. The other areas of my face looked absolutely fab though! So I reckon it's great for people with very minor problems.

If anybody would like the bottle to try I am happy to post for the cost of post.

Still haven't received my bottle of vit c that I ordered over a month ago from Wishtrend so I'm writing that one off!

Excited to start trying the Benton Aloe - that's next on my list.

Hope everyone is well and Frugal I hope the move went well for you :)

ilovetosleep · 03/07/2015 13:51

scrambled I'm intrigued! Spill te beans!

Also could you report back on banila clean it zero? I really tempted by the sensitive version of it as I'm trying to cut out mineral oil. I used eve lom cleanser for years and thought it was fab, but when I stopped using it my congested areas cleared up so I suspected mineral oil. I can't find samples of the sensitive banila though.

My wish list is getting a bit out of hand. Having always been the most low maintenance of all my friends skincare wise, I'm now starting to outdo them all!

lucysmam · 03/07/2015 14:13

Gertrude, I'd be interested in the a-sol if no-one else is Smile Will pm you later on, just about to get off the bus.

I should have checked back in in town, I gave up on buying a toner today - faced with racks and racks of Garnier etc. my head went Confused & I gave up. Much easier to look things up and find out about them first I'm learning.

Gertrudetrudy · 03/07/2015 14:19

No prob lucysmam I'll reserve it for you! May aswell, the bottle is almost full. Such a shame I really wanted to like it and for it to work wonders but alas not ment to be!

ScrambledSmegs · 03/07/2015 14:25

Banila Co. Clean it Zero - It's nice. Not amazing, it's like a lot of other balm cleansers I've used, I think it's quite like Lush Ultrabland although the texture is lighter. Pleasant to use, and works very well. I will keep using it and see if it develops HG status but I've used lots of balms/oils and I've yet to have a 'Hallelujah' moment.

I do like the Petit Jelly BB very much. It's very light in texture and will hopefully allow my skin to heal after this latest outbreak. Perfect shade for my skin atm as well - I've developed a light colour (not tan) and it means I don't get the slight ghostliness that the Laneige cushion gives me after about 6l hours. Which, btw, you can prevent by lightly spritzing the pad with a gentle facial mist before squishing into the fusion, thereby giving you lighter coverage. Result!

Oh, tangent. Whoops. Skincare fail in the next post now Wink

ScrambledSmegs · 03/07/2015 14:40

So. The embarrassing story.

As some of you may remember, I have very delicate skin. Easily congested, easily irritated. Quite dyhydrated, rather visible pores due to years of acne and teenage picking Blush.

It was all going so well. My skin was finally healing, the scars were fading, even one stubborn cystic spot on my cheek had finally given in and fled. And then in the last couple of weeks the left hand side of my face was overrun by spots. First Algernon on my chin, then it spread to my cheek, my upper lip, my nose Sad The right hand side is still clear and most of the PIH is almost fading almost to nothing. I had no idea why, I sleep practically on my back and I don't touch my face unless cleansing/doing makeup. I wash all my towels and makeup brushes very regularly. I sanitise my makeup. I am a clean-freak.

Today, while sadly cleaning the wreckage of my face, I realised that my wedding ring (which is pavé set with tiny diamonds) was scratching my face. Specifically, the left-hand side of my face. I am very Blush. I removed my ring while cleansing and moisturising and my face instantly felt less irritated.

I'm such an idiot. I've probably been doing more harm than good by massaging so thoroughly with my oil cleanser and abrasive wedding ring.

ilovetosleep · 03/07/2015 14:42

Which colour petit jelly did you get? I find the moisture petit bb in a tube gives me that white ghostliness and I was wondering how it compares to the jelly. I'm nc20-25 if that helps.

ScrambledSmegs · 03/07/2015 14:54

ilovetosleep - I got the darker one. From what I've hear the lighter one is very light. I'm currently about a 52 in Bourgeois Healthy Mix Serum (I normally have to mix 51 & 52). It looks quite similar to the NC20 in some of the swatches I've seen, but can't be sure.

ScrambledSmegs · 03/07/2015 14:59

Really useful blogpost on figuring out your skincare triggers.

bigbuttons · 03/07/2015 16:39

Damn, missed out on the A-sol. Was just about to get in there. You're too fast for me lucy. Mine has been commandeered by my spotty 15 year old son. Perhaps he has greater need than meWink have to re order then.
I'm still trying to work out the difference between the a-sol and the emulsion, Can't find any info anywhere.

XiCi · 03/07/2015 17:21

I've been using the Cosrx Asol as a ph adjusting toner. Does anyone know if that's right or do I need something else?

lucysmam · 03/07/2015 18:28

50 shades of snail review here XiCi, she says yes you could BUT it may reduce the effectiveness of your acids slightly I imagine the propolis etc. would form a sort of barrier.

Gertrude, I'll pm you shortly, thanks. Just need to get the girls sorted (and a heap of other stuff that will be ignored until the morning)

XiCi · 03/07/2015 18:36

thanks lucysmam

bigbuttons · 03/07/2015 19:06

Perhaps I don't actually need the a-sol as I have the bravura and I haven't got doors anymore. Need to search for something else then....... sulwhasoo
beckons.......

bigbuttons · 03/07/2015 19:09

Doors? Spots. Hmm

NoMoreMrRight · 03/07/2015 19:13

Hello all,

Little parcels from Korea have finally started trickling in! So far loving MBD sheet masks (Hyaluronic, Black Pearl favourites so far; trying Imperial Birds Nest tonight) and Hada Labo (so refreshing in this heat and leaves my complexion looking great). Really like the fact that MBD masks have enough serum left in the sachet to be able to use them twice; it means I can afford to do sheet masks four days in the week (using just two of them). I have also unopened MBD Mexican Cactus, and Rice besides Imperial Birds Nest. Will try those and then order a full box of my favourite.

Still waiting for Benton Bee Snail Serum and Innisfree Wine Sleeping pack, will report once I've received and tried them.

Returning Starfish also arrived and have been using it for the last three days. Had big hopes for it but I'm utterly disappointed; not that moisturising (my skin 'pulls' with dryness already minutes after applying it) and I've been waking up with a multitude of spots and small white heads. So, so disappointed, really wanted to love it as its texture is so lovely, like a kind of creamy jelly and the pot is so pretty. Just checked its ingredient list and apart of a myriad of different oils, butylene glycol might be the issue (or not, slightly confused by CosDNA Confused).

I do need a moisturiser so, any ideas on what could work for me please? Very dry/dehydrated skin, lots of redness and very reactive. I'm waiting for sleep packs so something I can use after the Hada Labo and essence under my makeup in the mornings...thank you. Off to catch up with the last twenty or so pages now Smile

lucysmam · 03/07/2015 19:34

Grin @ your typo there bigbuttons.

Coconut, neck sheet masks I've spied on my ebay travels...

weird looking reuseable thing. Have seen those for less than a couple of pounds though so that's quite pricey.

99p collagen one here. Presume it'll be like the under eye patches.

for the face and neck looks more sheet mask like than the above.

I have spied other ones too - will post them as I see them again Smile

lucysmam · 03/07/2015 20:37

Grin There are some scary looking full face ones in there too Confused
