Still forgot to tell you all! More than a week later...my feet are finally properly peeling around my toes and heels have started! So are the backs of my heels where I have old healed blisters from rubby shoes back in the day Grin

Fascinating but gross.

Also gross, the amount of crap coming out of my face using the oil cleanser! We're talking huge plugs of crap that I am assuming the sweaty weather has dislodged...Gross but also fascinating Grin

lucysmam · 02/07/2015 18:37

Bet y'all reeeeally wanted to know about my peely feet and manky face Grin Hmm sorry! Had to tell someone and dp wouldn't "get" it.

bigbuttons · 02/07/2015 18:42

told you they would peelWink

lucysmam · 02/07/2015 18:45

Grin it's made me weirdly happy!

Wondering what other cheap but effective things are out there now though...could be dangerous for my purse!

NewsreaderChic · 02/07/2015 18:58

I must be a bit sick because I quite enjoy hearing about Lucysmam's peeling feet and Scrambled's Algernon.

ScrambledSmegs · 02/07/2015 19:10

Remind me, what is this magic soap that Frugal uses? I've googled african soap and there are loads, some looking more posh than others.

lucysmam I find peely feet oddly fascinating. I've got a pack of Footner that I haven't had the guts to use yet, but hearing about yours I'm getting closer to having a go.

Newsreader, I shall take note and issue regular updates on Algernon's progress. Wouldn't want to disappoint his fans Grin

lucysmam · 02/07/2015 19:30

Magic soap? I'm not sure - someone will know.

lucysmam · 02/07/2015 19:31

Get the footner on your feet Scrambled! Bet you have quicker peeling than me Grin

TheWombat · 02/07/2015 20:44

Lucysmam 50 shades of snail lady has a post on facial mists and spritzes today! Might be worth a look!

Does anyone know if 'purging' from retinol / other actives is really a thing? I'm not sure what to think...

LaBette001 · 02/07/2015 20:57

Ah lost this thread so started my own but found you now!

On your recommendation a little while ago I bought the Mison Discovery Kit from Cult Beauty which contains samples of:

Sheet mask
Snail repair eye cream
Goodnight white sleeping mask (a cream)
All in one snail repair cream

I'm ready to be transformed but I'm not sure which to use when.

The directions on the all in one snail cream say "at your first skincare step apply a proper amount"....

So I'm thinking I do this:

All in one snail repair cream
Clinique redness solutions cleanser
Clinique Toner
Clinique redness slns moisturiser
Goodnight white sleeping mask

Is this correct?!?!?!?!

Excited!!!

wickedfairy · 02/07/2015 21:06

LaBette - I would use your cleanser and toner before the serum. Then the cream, then sleeping mask. Otherwise you will cleanse off the snail serum.

I am fairly new to this too, but am sure someone else will be along shortly to give a definitive answer!Smile

wickedfairy · 02/07/2015 21:08

Sorry, just seen its snail cream. Still use after the cleanser and toner. Check it against your other cream and use the thinner/lighter cream first, then the other cream, then the sleeping pack. You go up in product thickness, with the sleeping pack always last, to seal it all in

LaBette001 · 02/07/2015 21:08

Thankyou!! I did think that was rather odd !!

LaBette001 · 02/07/2015 21:09

So should I use goodnight white sleeping mask (a cream you don't wash off) AND the sheet mask on the same night?

LaBette001 · 02/07/2015 21:17

Fuck it.
I'm putting the whole lot on and going to bed Grin

leeloo1 · 02/07/2015 21:28

Thanks Bigbuttons, for the amount I've spent, I really hope I do like them - and that they work wonders! ;)

I found it a bit odd that on the Sulwhasoo website, the Ginseng stuff has far more positive descriptions than the Timetreasure stuff

e.g. Ginseng Renewing Cream for $220
A nutrient-rich cream to penetrate the deepest layers of the skin to revive damaged, youth-depleted skin from within.

  • Formulated with the roots, berries, and water of rare five-year-old Korean Ginseng, this treatment stimulates cell regeneration to revitalize and ultimately restore youthful looking skin
  • Milkvetch and White Mulberry promote an ageless complexion
  • Jojoba, Avocado, Mango Seed, and Sunflower Oils moisturize and condition for soft, smooth skin

Timetreasure Renovating Cream for $420
A time-reversing cream to promote youthful and healthy-looking skin.

  • Red Pine promotes firm, healthy, youthful-looking skin
  • Envelops the skin in nourishing botanicals to promote softness and vitality
  • Preserves the natural health and beauty of skin

Don't you think that they've made the Ginseng sound better?! Very Hmm Confused and surely for pretty much double the price tag they could make a bit more of an effort with the descriptions.

Though I'm hoping that the TT will do all that the Ginseng stuff does and more, but by buying a few of the ginseng products just in case then I'm hoping to cover all bases! Grin I'd best look youthful and dewy by the end of all this!

I think I need to do some research on all the different acids and stuff. I'm liking the sound of the (mild) Retin A, but how do you deal with peeling? I have a bit of that anyway and find it a nightmare, as any powder etc just highlights the peeling-ness, but without then I feel a shiny mess! Any advice would be great. :)

Phantomquartz · 02/07/2015 21:45

I have a missha mist - the rose scented one - the mist is incredibly light and smells lovely. It is definitely something that won't damage your make up. I've been carrying it around along with a Magicool spray which is much more powerful and I have been spraying that on my wrists and inside my elbows to cool myself down on the tube. It has some sort of gel in that really cools you down.

lucysmam · 02/07/2015 22:37

LaBette, the snail gel cream should be your last layer before the sleeping mask - over any other moisturiser you use.

Cleanse - acid tone/actives - hydrating toner if using - serums/essences/ampoules - gels/creams from lightest texture to heaviest and then sleeping pack.

handy pinterest diagram here.

I slot in the sheet mask after the snail gel but before any sleeping pack product.

Clay/mud masks after bha but before anything else.

(I'm not sure what any of the Clinique stuff is or does to say yes but hopefully that'll help Smile )

lucysmam · 02/07/2015 22:40

Wombat, thanks for the snail lady link - I spied it earlier somewhere but got caught up reading the poverty thread in chat so haven't read it yet.

I forgot about neck masks Coconut, will find them for you in the morning Smile

bigbuttons · 03/07/2015 06:16

leelooyes, that's odd, no idea why the eye cream is less 'sexed up' than they ginseng one. They are both excellent.
If you don't like them I'll have them off youWink.

Who'd have guessed it, turns out the bravura toner I already have but was going to give away because it didn't seem to do much is actually supposed to be a ph adjuster before the use of acids! Results, no more waiting around!

lucysmam · 03/07/2015 07:44

I need me a ph adjusting toner! The number of mornings I think "just 15 mins more" and then rush everything is unreal!

Are there any I could pick up in town today that anyone knows of Smile

I have put a thread up on reddit, GERTI, will let you know if there are any suggestions Smile

NewsreaderChic · 03/07/2015 10:16

I agree about the time factor, I've ordered the Cosrx aha/BHa toner which is supposedly ph adjusting and not effective enough as an acid. Which Bravura toner have you got BigButtons? I have one, they're not too pricey and UK based so could be a good alternative.

Leeloo the peeling is an issue and your right sometimes I think I haven't peeled and then put on a BB cream and there it is for all to see. I've found that both using a balm cleanser and gentle rubbing or a peeling cream work well at getting rid of peeling. You just have to go easy or you'll be sore so there is a certain amount you just have to put up with. However it is only when you start off, mine has stopped now and the difference is really worth it.

lucysmam · 03/07/2015 10:27

The COSRX is on next week's to buy list but I want something for in the meantime. I'll have a look up of Bravura - could I get that in Boots/Superdrug?
