I read about the Lumea on here and ended up ordering the plus one.

Bit of background:

I am white with dark hair that is really quite coarse. I've struggled with body hair all my life and quite frankly just gave up the last few years because my regrowth is awful.

Even shaving my armpits I would have itchy stubble within 12-14 hours.

My bikini area I just left as a bush because the itching with shaving would be immediate and the regrowth came through within hours.

So I bought the Lumea a few weeks ago. Used it on my pits, facet, bikini area, legs.

I wasn't sure anything was happening first because I shaved, zapped and straight away the normal regrowth came through but I did my 2nd round 2 weeks later Sunday and my god. I would say 60-70% of my bikini line hair is gone. I vet had no itching.

Same with my underarms!
I didn't end up doing my legs Sunday (need to)

And I would say 90% of my lip hair is gone!!

It's absolutely amazing. I'm writing this because the hefty price really put me off but I'm so glad I got it and I'm only 2 weeks in with 2 treatments done!!

I am thinking of the 2006 or the 2008 which seems to be the same but with an additional bikini attachment. Does anyone have a 2008? Is the bikini attachment worth an extra £50?

I love my lumea it has worked like a dream since I bought one for myself last Christmas.

Has anyone else found that it has a positive effect on underarm smells as well? Since my 4th or so treatment I have found that I no longer get smelly pits and don't need deodorant?!?

I have dark hair and pale skin
No idea what I am doing wrong

Have looked at Argos website and Lumea's range in price from £209 to
£499 Shock

Is there any reason not to get the cheaper one??

A friend of mine got the compact lumea last week off the Philips website for around £120 using codes.

Ooh which codes Olive?

OliveCane · 21/06/2015 16:54

Peppa, try these two codes, stack them together on the Philips website

RFF35PHILIPS (35% off) and 10Philips (10% off)

Does it work on fair skin and fair hair?

Also, there were other brands of IPL device that were cheaper again. Has anyone tried any of those ones?

I've had the boots one for about 6 months now, I use it for facial hair and I've found it very effective.

I have a question for existing users - I have the £400 model (got for £299 on offer), it has the interchangeable light-covers. I find that I struggle to make contact on all skin surfaces (the faces I pull to get contact on my upper-lip are a sight to see!). I assumed that the smaller aperture light cover would make it easier to get contact but I am finding some areas, my bikini area in particular, impossible to zap. Is there a skill?

I gave up yesterday as my arm was aching so much from placing, rolling and subtly moving the device around without much success.

My armpits are fab - practically hairless. I have done my upper lip 3 times and the hair is virtually gone. My legs are less hairy but I have lost patience with the lack of contact in certain areas (ankle, knee) and have hairy patches!
