shop is that book you recommended worth a tenner?

LinusDKD · 12/07/2015 15:50

Love those Phoebe jeans marsha even though I usually go for a very dark wash. What's the sizing like?

I am a 27 in the skinny Marrakesh but these don't seem to have any elasthane in them.

I can't believe I'm thinking of cheating on my Jimmies! Wink

Love the hig neckline of that Ganni dress shop

Wearing one of my old Eres bikinis I bought for our honeymoon 9 years ago. They are such good quality I am tempted to buy another but maybe not this summer as they are ££££.

MyVegasBaby · 12/07/2015 16:41

Please can anyone help me find size 5 black patent Gigis, preferably from a UK shop??
The Hush lookalikes arrived but the t bar strap is too wide and they aren't very comfy. Steve Madden ones went back as too small and having worn my cobalt ones all day yesterday with lots of walking I feel I need the real thing but can't find my size anywhere!
Help!

MarshaBrady · 12/07/2015 16:44

Linus yes not much elastane so go for the same size imo

Shop ha thanks! Love that dress. Think I'd prefer that shape.

Would love an eres bikini, one day! The Fendi navy one I got in the NaP sale is as close as I can go without getting one.

LinusDKD · 12/07/2015 16:58

Just ordered the Phoebes! I'm not sure they will suit my pear shape but it's worth a try at that price.

And the model wore them with the MiH shirt I bought so maybe it's a sign. Wink

Have you had a look on Amazon for those Gigis myvegas? They sometimes have good discounts.

Fedupnagging · 12/07/2015 17:12

Anyone still looking for a beach bag? This is really nice.

Love your bag Bernice and the Gucci Queen linked although I'd like it in navy please.

Welcome home Shop, your holiday looked fab.

Great shopping Marsha love the Ganni dress.

Am feeling particularly uninspired clothes shopping wise atm - a few items I've had my eye on are not in the sales unfortunately so may need to pay fp.

Myvegas am pretty sure I saw some Gigi-esque shiny black sandals in the JL sale today - they may have been Dune.

Fedupnagging · 12/07/2015 17:23

How about these Myvegas?

There are a few similar on the JL website but am struggling to link much on the iPad.

Fedupnagging · 12/07/2015 17:27

Hopefully this page will work Myvegas

shopafrolic · 12/07/2015 18:04

Yes QUeenC - have you ordered since I sent you pics?
MyVegas there were some in the Anna sale - not sure if they had black though

MyVegas what is a UK 5 is it a 37 - I might have found some.....

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 12/07/2015 18:12

They have 37 and 37.5

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 12/07/2015 18:13

Have sent you a link

OneLittleLady · 12/07/2015 18:17

uk 5 is usually a 38 but it depends, in converse for example, a 38 is a 5.5

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 12/07/2015 21:13

Hello all :)

myVegas if it helps, I'm a UK5 and wore a US8.5 in Gigis. "Wore" is because I don't actually own any, it's a sore point and a long story. Hope you find them, it sounds like it may be one of those things where only the real thing will do even if that means paying FP :/

mara and Bernice I can't see myself in Crocs either! They were so cheap, and my back does get sore. If they are too fugly I might try some Birkenstock Arizonas, but I'm worried about looking like a hippy once they go back out of style.

It's me with the Phoebe Slims Marsha and Linus! I do like them, but I should have sized down, so they sit a bit low. I think they look good unrolled too, mom-jean-ish. Just hope they aren't too short on you M as I am a shortie and find them ok.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 12/07/2015 21:17

Also (didn't want to write an essay!) I got my H&M order from my mum. Asymmetrical cotton dress was very weird :( Fitted on waist, boobs and hips but the side zip in a 10 was about 4 inches from being done up. Also the waist band was not attached all the way along!
Undecided on top, it came very crumpled which never helps.

Fedupnagging · 12/07/2015 21:46

Blair if you don't get on with the crocs I can highly recommend fitflops (originally bought a pair when I had a fallen arch and they really helped) but I also have back problems (thanks to dc's) and find I can walk for ages in them without being completely doubled over with back pain. Yes, I sound the picture of health!!

Am off to London this week with dh for a couple of days - we've decided to stay over rather than run for the last train home. Weather doesn't look good so undecided on what clothes to wear yet.

Also hoping to get to the Aquabar for cocktails either before or after the theatre - how dressy do I need to be?

MyVegasBaby · 12/07/2015 21:48

Thanks all for your suggestions and taking time to look for me, having tried and failed with a couple of alternatives I think I need the real thing. It's a size 38 or a 5 (US 8) that I need or a half size up at a push. I can find a 3,4 or 6 but no 5, so annoying.
Consoling myself with a Crunchie, not had one in ages, very nice!

Fedupnagging · 12/07/2015 21:49

Sorry, forgot to comment on your purchases Blair - dress does indeed look a bit strange and not good if it doesn't sit well. Can't open the top link for some reason.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 12/07/2015 22:09

Doh! Fedup I messed up the top link, should work now.

Which Aqua bar are you going to? I think whatever you're wearing to the theatre would be fine tbh, I do like an excuse to dress up though - I know some people go casual for shows surely not Voguettes though.

Drywhiteplease · 12/07/2015 22:15

Love the Ganni black dress Shop

Mooched with DD in city today. Tried the Top Shop Pom pom top on all blogs at the mo, very sweet, don't need it, bit boho for me. Looked at a maxi dress that was in Grazia

Drywhiteplease · 12/07/2015 22:19

Oops here nice in picture, flimsy and thin IRL .

Beginning to get pre MU fashion quandry.......

Fedupnagging · 12/07/2015 22:32

I like the top Blair - maybe give a quick press then see.

Hoping to get to Aquashard, not Aquabar - think spell check got involved there!

Dry Shame the TS dress is not great quality irl - nice style and colour would be great with a tan.

Can't wait to hear what you are all wearing to the MU - still gutted to be missing it but will be en route to somewhere hot so that will take edge off my disappointment!

shopafrolic · 12/07/2015 22:35

I've had that all holiday Dry no idea what to wear - will no doubt end up in skinnies and tee AGAIN. What's the weather going to do?
Have told DH I am staying out until Dry gets her train Grin
