Not sure if I should be starting the new thread as I'm the last poster on the old one - is this how it works?

Go you!

whattodoforthebest2 · 02/06/2015 11:07

Phew - I was just getting my coat!

Marking my place!

Blackduck · 02/06/2015 11:24

Marking place....

motherinferior · 02/06/2015 12:03

You can get those T-shirts for adults, you know!

whattodoforthebest2 · 02/06/2015 12:09

Ah, I'll have a look. I have a number of nieces' and nephews' birthdays coming up, but whether they'd wear them is another matter.

Has anyone seen the Jim Dale show at the Vaudeville? Would you recommend it? I'm in two minds about whether DD would enjoy it or whether it's a bit too retro for her taste.

beachyhead · 02/06/2015 12:15

I'm here. I was just in the process of commiserating on the loss of Charles Kennedy. I am deeply saddened also.

BD, I have some stuff for you. Could you pm your email?

motherinferior · 02/06/2015 12:20

Talking of retro, I'm writing about teasmades Grin. Though am about to head out to sing (solos practice this afternoon).

CK - it's vv sad, yes.

whattodoforthebest2 · 02/06/2015 12:28

MI I have fond memories of sitting on my Mum and Dad's bed on a Saturday morning, eating their ginger nuts out of the tin, while they drank their tea (in proper cups and saucers, of course). Smile

Afternoon all.

Just had a Waitrose Black Pudding Scotch Egg for lunch. Thought you should know...

magimedi · 02/06/2015 13:25

I'm going to get one of those T shirts for PFGC!! She is tiny, like her Mum, but am sure she'll be fierce.

Off for a swim (my halo glows) & then back to watch the tennis. Come on Federer!

lalsy · 02/06/2015 13:29

CV, I love those....

I know about CK.

whattodoforthebest2 · 02/06/2015 13:37

V sad about CK - same age as me! Makes me think...

Well I've just been for a C25K run, not very successfully, walked half of it, it varies so much from one day to another, one day I'm full of beans, another everything's aching before I've got very far.

OP posts:
bigTillyMint · 02/06/2015 13:38

CVShock Sounds, erm, interesting!

Very sad about CK. Only 55.

whattodo, I am afraid I had not even heard of that show!

Had a bad start to the morning having to take DS to get the heart monitor -had to leave for an early appointment, argument about school shoes before we even got out of the door, then we couldn't get on a bus because of the tree-on-the-line so we had to walk and only just made it. And I have to return it tomorrowAngry

whattodoforthebest2 · 02/06/2015 13:42

BTM - I suspect the reduced-price tickets are a red flag!

Very sorry to hear about your DS being monitored - what a worry, and the journey muck-up doesn't help at all.

OP posts:
wherewouldibe · 02/06/2015 13:44

25k run whats that's a long way! Or do you mean 2.5k? Either way both are an achievement Smile

wherewouldibe · 02/06/2015 13:49

Just realised its couch to 5k. I really need to get down with the lingo Blush

motherinferior · 02/06/2015 14:02

Ah, what my kids call a Ladyjog (when I do it). I must see if my knee's up to one tomorrow. Am off to do solo rehearsal.

CV, was the egg nice?

whattodoforthebest2 · 02/06/2015 14:12

Yes, where, Couch to 5K. Sadly I've started more times than I care to remember and this week is an achievement only in that I've been out twice, whereas I usually tick it off as having been my January/February/March run!
Added flesh being on display as the weather warms up is a motivating factor.

OP posts:
wherewouldibe · 02/06/2015 14:20

Well the fact that you know what c25k means you're well ahead of me whats. Are you doing it to loose weight or to generally 'get fit'? Luckily the weather so far means not much flesh has to be on display!

Who's got any nice holiday plans?? I don't know about you lot but I'm itching to get away. Anyone dragging their teens with them?

whattodoforthebest2 · 02/06/2015 14:46

Just to get fit really - I find they go hand in hand, so if I'm fitter I'll be more concerned about what I eat, rather than picking at whatever I've bought for the DC to devour.

I've booked a week in Swanage for the end of next week to celebrate end of exams. DS2 and his gf and DD will be coming too. As to going further afield, I'm trying to decide what to do and where to go - something adventurous this time I think.

OP posts:
wherewouldibe · 02/06/2015 14:56

That's a nice idea re. Exam celebration - what accomodation are you staying in?

I fancy something adventurous however my DH wants a 'safe' holiday! To be honest my DS would also prefer that too so I'm out voted. What are you thinking? Let me dream with you!

bigTillyMint · 02/06/2015 15:17

DD and I are going on a belated 50th birthday/exam celebration in October to NY. I am beyond excited about itBlush

Our summer holiday is a biggie this year - to NZ and DH is finally stepping up and planning the itinerary!

wherewouldibe · 02/06/2015 15:36

Oh big how lovely!!!! You must tell us the full itinerary when he's done it...

herbaceous · 02/06/2015 16:32

I'm wondering about going to NYC for my 50th later this year. I haven't been since DS was born, and used to go at least once a year. I've got a couple of good friends over there.

Christ, I'm knackered. Load of planning to do tonight for a formative teaching session tomorrow, then days and days of assignment work, then planning for another formative next Wednesday. I need an early night, but then can't sleep for fretting, and having dreams that I have to teach people French. And I don't speak French. Much.
