Crepeys on the Verge of an Examination Meltdown

Not sure if I should be starting the new thread as I'm the last poster on the old one - is this how it works?

OP posts:

Stropps that's marvellous. Wine Star Wine Star Please do try to believe your tutors about having done well, high standard etc.

Apple juice out of a hip flask, CV? Grin Grin Hmm

Flowers Sad BD That's pants. Hope you feel better soon.

Interesting about unhappy French pet nationals. Our new neighbours…well, one of them, lived in France before coming here and brought her little dog over. They say she has never settled and is desperately nervous and clingy.

I wish I could come on Friday….could do with breaking out of this exam- ridden domestic shite rut. DD was awful, when she came in yesterday and so resistant to doing revision for Chemistry and French mocks today. Why is everything such a fight? And why does her period always come during exam week…?

In other news, HerrD has just emailed with a very short notice suggestion of doing a rehearsed reading of the play next bloody Thursday afternoon, Shock but he's still waiting on confirmation from some of the cast. I am trying to find out whether I can bring in a small audience…. So typical…nothing for ages and then it's, like, NEXT WEEK. Eeeek.

bigTillyMint · 24/06/2015 09:01

Molly, glad to hear your DD has been nicer. And lucky you, MrsS!

Not had a good start to the day as DM phoned at 7.15am, to panic about something unintelligible. Luckily DH answered the phone and when I called her back, she seemed to think it was less of an emergency. I am NOT looking forward to going up today and will definitely need a vat of wine on Friday night!

motherinferior · 24/06/2015 09:55

BTM, I'll be bracing myself for mine...

lalsy · 24/06/2015 10:04

Yes, waayhaay Stropps. And Rose is right - believe them - they know of what they speak and if they had criticised you, you would have believed that. I think, wild generalisation, women often hear criticism not praise and men the other way round.

MI, that's interesting. Are you finding historians are happy to discuss - that's great if they are. Good luck.

bigTillyMint · 24/06/2015 11:01

I seemed to miss Stropps' post earlier - WELL DONE!

Sending you strength, Rose!

MollyAir · 24/06/2015 11:18

Stropps, can you make a very large banner saying:

consistently worked to a very high standard

Hang it on your house. Grin Fantastic achievement, bloody well done.

Interestingly I have an email in my inbox from my tutor titled Assessment. I don't want to open it. I have genuine fear that it might say "Failed. Utter disgrace to the class". Last night I was debating with myself how likely that was.

herbaceous · 24/06/2015 12:46

Molly - I think you need one of Stropps's banners.

Now my teaching practice is over, I am having a day off. I met a friend for coffee (in a BTM-style hipster cafe), and am shortly to buy some hair dye, flea spray, insecticide and a bog brush. So as usual it's all glamour.

Blackduck · 24/06/2015 14:32

Stropps Grin Grin

NUFC69 · 24/06/2015 15:13

Stropps, very well done! BTM, I hope today is going ok? Molly, you know you have to do it, don't you? Good luck with it. Rose, I hope DD is a little more amenable today. Hatty, a dental appointment awaits me on Monday - a nice welcome home. MI, you have spurred me on to swim more when I am home. BD, hang on in there.

Another day of traveling- this time to Whistler, for an overnight stop before flying home on Thursday. Had a great time, seen lots and eaten far too much of the wrong stuff. Back to the diet on Monday.

bigTillyMint · 24/06/2015 15:53

Come on Molly, it's at least 50% likely to be good newsGrin

Thanks NU - the train journey was lovely and I finished one of the books Molly leant me! Now on the bus to DMs trying to keep that relaxed feeling. Sounds like you have had a fab holiday.

Only 4 weeks to ours...

Rosebag · 24/06/2015 16:37

Yes, good luck for today, Tilly…god, parents and how to survive them! I am having coffee with DM tomorrow for a catch up…

NU Gosh, that's gone quickly. So glad it's been a successful trip…I do love Canada.

Herbs is there any news from your poor MIL?

I am having a very mixed day.. blessed bloke laying the stone path in the back garden didn't show…I am getting very fed up with him…now he's
fecked off to Glastonbury and won't be back til Tuesday Angry
Had a lovely singing lesson with my lovely teacher which made me feel better and then Sushi for lunch with BFF and a right good natter moan

And things have now been clarified a bit at the theatre…we are rehearsing next Thursday with a view to the full reading before the end of term. And DD has just texted while on the bus home saying French was "easy" and Chemistry was "easyish" whatever that means.

I have ordered this dress today. My Onjenu order of Denim dress, and psychedelic jumpsuit has arrived too.

herbaceous · 24/06/2015 16:41

Ah yes, MiL. Well, after all that, there was seemingly nothing to report. It's rather frustrating, as MiL and caring SiLs are rather vague, and only pass on need-to-know stuff to DP, who is then a bit vague, so I never really know what's going on. And I am naturally nosy enquiring and caring, so this is most frustrating.

MrsSchadenfreude · 24/06/2015 17:20

We need a new thread title.

This week is going very slowly. But I am in the pub. Waiting for a f iend.

Rosebag · 24/06/2015 17:40

Crepeying to the end of term

MrsSchadenfreude · 24/06/2015 18:17

Crêpes out for the summer.

MrsSchadenfreude · 24/06/2015 18:18

Crepeys of a consistently high standard

bigTillyMint · 24/06/2015 18:46

Like the dress Rose.

Nothing to report must surely be good Herbs?

Well DM looks well and is trotting up the stairs faster than ever. Apparently a man called Charlie got in through the front door and put two dirty cups in the cupboard, left a new (from when I was a teen) coaster on the side and put a new keyhole in the front doorGrin

MrsSchadenfreude · 24/06/2015 18:56

I wonder if that is the same man who has stolen our neighbour's identity, his shoe, his post and medical notes, and who stands guard over him every night, BTM?

herbaceous · 24/06/2015 19:21

'Jeepers crepeys'?

'Crepeys - more chin, less arse'

'Kindly but brisk'

Have we had 'planet of the crepes'?

motherinferior · 24/06/2015 20:16

We've had the planet...

beachyhead · 24/06/2015 20:26

Are you really waiting for a fiend, Mrs S? Grin

Well done, Stropps and Herbs - what a year and how quickly it's gone.....

I'm still in recovery mode (like a laptop)....

Stropperella · 24/06/2015 20:35

thank you, crepeys, thank you. I am liking MrsS's suggestion, after all we are all crepeys of a consistently high standard. Grin

beachyhead · 24/06/2015 20:38

I'll third that, Stropps......

Stropperella · 24/06/2015 20:38
