Wedding dress reassurance needed (photos)

I went for my wedding dress fitting on Saturday...and had a bit of a meltdown because the dress has some odd looking lumps that I never noticed. I'm now thinking about buying another dress (though really can't afford it). What do you think? Does it look ok? As an FYI this isn't a picture of me!

Or should I just think that I only have one wedding and to get another dress?

The creases are how it fits model. It shouldn't crease if it fits you properly. It's pretty. You need to try it on.

Reginafalangie · 18/05/2015 08:11

The dress is very beautiful.

I am not sure what bumps you mean OP?

It is a fishtail and they are very close fitting on the body so you will always get the odd wrinkle to smooth out.

I think you will look stunning.

pictish · 18/05/2015 08:12

Oooh I dunno...that's an unforgiving choice of dress. That's my first thought. Without knowing what you look like I can't comment further.

Jewels234 · 18/05/2015 08:15

I'm a size 10, but the dress is currently too big and still doesn't look right. The lumps are at the tops of the thighs...I'm genuinely thinking of just getting another dress. I hate my wedding!

It's not my style but I don't see lumps, just various lacy bits? Can you please tell us where they are?

NomiMalone · 18/05/2015 08:18

Brutal honesty time: I think you can do better.

You have an amazing figure. The dress doesn't flatter it. Plus you have way to much boob on show for a bride.

Obviously as a stranger from the internet my opinion doesn't matter a jot though!!

AnonyMusty · 18/05/2015 08:19

Are you wearing High Power Spanx? That'll sort it!

SlippinJimmy · 18/05/2015 08:20

Do you have a photo of yourself in the dress? It's a lovely but very unforgiving dress.
Do you think you could be exaggerating the lumps in your head? I tried mine on for the 2nd time and decided it looked horrid, then tried it on again with proper shoes, hair done and some actual make up on and fell in love with it again.

pictish · 18/05/2015 08:24

I think it's too 'booby' as well...but that's me...your taste is your own.
Personally I think Kate Moss got it right. She's slim and the dress accentuated that in a beautiful, ethereal way.

It's hard to comment without seeing you in the dress.

Do you mean there are bunches of excess fabric or of your skin? It's a lovely style of dress one of many I tried but it has to be just right.

iwantgin · 18/05/2015 08:28

Nomi op sayds that is not a picture of her in the dress.

Jewels234 · 18/05/2015 08:31

Thanks, though those are 100% not my boobs! Mine are tiny and definitely don't look big or show at all with the dress. It's just the lumps!

Sophieelmer · 18/05/2015 08:31

I don't agree with the too booby comments. I think Kate Moss' dress is too much as its see through to her crotch! But others love it. It's your dress and you like it before. I think it'll be hard for you to by happy with it until it fits properly. As until then you'll feel like your wearing a sack, whatever dress you put on

notquitegrownup2 · 18/05/2015 08:33

Well I prefer your dress to Kate Moss's and if you are a size 10 you are probably a lot less booby than the model!

It must be really hard not having a dress that fits to try on, as you need this style to fit well, to guage the effect. Yy to High Power Spanx and then I think you will relax and it will look stunning. (Just beware if you lose any more weight in the last few stressful weeks before the wedding - chat to whoever is doing your alterations about whether she is available on the week of the wedding for any final tucks and trims . . . .)

Hope that you start to enjoy it all again soon

Jewels234 · 18/05/2015 08:35

This is me. Also, I only have 8 weeks.

You look lovely in the dress. So there you go! I think it fits well and not too booby after all.

Weebirdie · 18/05/2015 08:39

Mini, its not possible to tell you how your dress looks on you when you've showed us a picture of someone else in your dress. Is there anyway you could show us a pic of you in your dress with your face hidden if its privacy you're worried about.

That said however - your dress is lovely and you'll look amazing on the day.

Please try not to panic because I think it is very normal for this to happen close to the big day. It just your nerves.

xxx

Weebirdie · 18/05/2015 08:40

Ah ok Smile

HemanOrSheRa · 18/05/2015 08:43

I see no lumps! It looks lovely Smile.

Weebirdie · 18/05/2015 08:43

I can see the bumps you mention and if you were my daughter I would be saying its a bit big on you.

Have you lost weight?

Has it been altered at all?

pictish · 18/05/2015 08:44

There has to be a little room to manoeuvre in the dress. The movement of fabric at the front adds opulence.
Having it completely smooth and crease/lump free will make you look like a hand blender and you won't be able to breath.
You want to swish and sashay and the dress allows for that.

TheMD · 18/05/2015 08:45

I think the dress looks beautiful on you. Much MUCH better than the model in the 1st photo!

SqueezyCheeseWeasel · 18/05/2015 08:46

You look much nicer in the dress, even pre final fitting. It looked really tight and tacky on the first pic but looks like a different, prettier dress on you.

ChannelingFlop · 18/05/2015 08:46

Didn't like the first photo of the booby girl so much but you look beautiful! Really like it! def not too booby and you look slim and generally gorgeous! Honestly it's great.

Jewels234 · 18/05/2015 08:46

Ok. Thanks all for the reassurance. I know it doesn't really matter!
