I want to spend with you but your offerings are so sore. You can still do your trendy flash in the pan shit, but you would make lots of money if you did:
Cotton round neck cardies in all the colours.
Cotton thick leggings in all the colours
Cotton jersey dresses in different styles in all the colours
Comfortable leather ballet pumps in all the colours
Matching vest and knicker sets in funky patterns
Big boob support nighties and pyjama vest tops.
Go back to having good quality opaque, cotton mix and wool mix tights, I have tights from you that are 5 years old, but this years only lasted 3 washes
I'm your core market, I have money and could be shopping with you for fifty more years.

OP posts:
FatAli · 15/05/2015 22:30

But they show!

Flesh colour, I am telling you. Wink

goingmadinthecountry · 15/05/2015 23:10

I'm 51 and there's rarely anything I'd choose to wear.
Colours are vile - really, no-one likes that icky pink. Even if they do like it, it's horrible.

You do nice quality cashmere. Why why why bugger it up entirely with utterly shite over-embellishment/vile designs? I'd buy an oversized PLAIN cashmere V neck every day of the week. WITHOUT A FUCKING POODLE ON IT. My friends agree. I'm happy to spend £130 on a jumper. Just not an over-designed shit one.

We want simple, uncluttered designs. Good quality fabrics and none of that shitty embellishment you think we like. We don't. That's why your results are slipping. LISTEN TO YOUR TARGET MARKET AND PROVIDE SIMPLE, STYLISH PRODUCTS.

goodasitgets · 15/05/2015 23:48

Have just bought these tops - I went in m&s and they had nothing similar, so I went elsewhere. This type of thing is what I want them to stock! Plain, stripe and long length

Flesh colour, I am telling you.

Not everyone's flesh colour is flesh colour you know.
I wear white bras.

LittleBearPad · 16/05/2015 00:21

I have just had an email titled "M&S needs your help". i may just add a link to this thread.

LittleBearPad · 16/05/2015 00:23

But for what it's worth - stop making everything fecking coral. Don't add shite to the front of your cashmere sweaters. Just stop adding shite generally. Make nicer bras above a D cup, some ranges stop at DD, some at E and others go to H. Why?

goingtotown · 16/05/2015 00:24

M&S you really don't care, you have been rolling this crap out for far too long. I've got money to spend but can't find decent quality clothing. Your online videos are a complete joke, young models wearing your Classic range looks pathetic. I'm sure Twiggy wouldn't wear her range. You have sales every few weeks to clear stock that you can't move at the original price, this should be telling you that your stores are filled with garish rubbish quality badly designed merchandise.

LittleBearPad · 16/05/2015 00:32

The survey was about knickers, various horrific colours. This thread may have inspired me give ruder than I might otherwise have been Grin

Lucked · 16/05/2015 00:39

I am with previous posters on the standard length of the tops and jumpers form M&S. I mention it in all feedback I leave. Too short to begin with and then you loose a little when you wash them. I don't necessarily want longline just confidence not to flash my middle as I run round after the kids.

cerealqueen · 16/05/2015 00:42

Cotton nighties - NO POLYESTER!

More wool in your woolies -sick of the acrylic .

Well made clothes that will last.

Bring back St Michael.

indieblack · 16/05/2015 01:07

Trousers without stupidly placed pockets

^^
Absolutely bryte when they finally get the cut right on a pair of black trousers they ruin it with a thick pocket which ruins the line or is nowhere nr your handsHmm.

And breathe...

Akire · 16/05/2015 02:28

Pyjamas that don't have ridiculous yards of ribbon/tie waist that don't actual tie. Just either have to tie in big bow so it bulges under top or lumpy to sleep on!

More plain pyjamas I don't wear teddy bears or cute characters or slogans in the day- so why would I want to at bed time?

Why are they little icky bows on nearly every bra??? Will I feel less womanly without a stick on bow? No! I'm not 9!
Please can we have a nightie that's in between granny neck to floor passion killer and silky bearly covering your bum nightie.

Bunbaker · 16/05/2015 07:56

"Oh and I own loads of vest that need replacing but they've stopped doing them. Plain vest with spaghetti straps and a band of lace across the top."

They had plenty in the Meadowhall store this week.

"Also, stop doing 2 packs of bras involving a white one"

Yes, yes, yes to this

Pyjamas with a choice of leg lengths. I don't want to wear pyjamas with the legs flapping halfway up my shins. And I'm not that tall (5'7")

I've had the email survey about the hideous knickers. Wondered if they'd read this thread, but probably too much to hope for, plus they'd probably translate it as 'they all want loads of brightly coloured embellished shit'.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/05/2015 08:32

They'd interpret it exactly like that Madison

Which is why sales are down.

I'd like coasters that don't discolour after six months use because I used them to put cups and glasses on. Which means I will never buy homeware from them again.

LoloKazolo · 16/05/2015 08:34

Yes so much to the black/nude multipack. That's all I want. I don't want white bras, especially as nobody will sell me a top thick enough to stop the white bra showing through.

I would like

Plain, normal looking multipack balcony bras in a 30FF with no bows or scratchy "lace".
A multipack of cotton vests, long in the body, with wide straps, no bows!
Multipacks of knickers to match, in cotton (not "cotton rich") but in modern styles - brazillian or bikini or boyshort cuts.
Cotton slips - what happened to them?
Plain well made lined knee length skirts with pockets
Plain long sleeved scoop or square or boat neck tops, long in the body - breton stripes or plain white/navy. LONG in the body!
Cotton, wool, silk

Just plain, good clothes that don't show my bum/underwear/midriff, without fucking bows or in sweaty horrible polyester or with rubbish stuck all over it. I only want navy, burgundy, jade, grey and white. I've given up on trying to buy anything in any shop that fits me on the waist and hips (size 10-12 hourglass) so I won't bother to ask for that! Or in fact for actual inch sizing on the clothes which would be amazing but who are we kidding.

I buy from Uniqlo and Me and Em now, but they don't cover everything. Still searching for those skirts with pockets! And underwear.

But we have these threads every year and nothing ever changes.

Justusemyname · 16/05/2015 09:01

When I complained they didn't have a single bra in my size in store I was told "We can't stock every size, madam"HmmAngry. I will never buy bras there again after a fitter was rude to me. I used to spend a lot of money I the lingerie department...

hollyisalovelyname · 16/05/2015 09:05

As I recall there was a thread like this last year.
Did they listen ?
HAH !

wizzler · 16/05/2015 09:10

Lolo.. agree with you.. particularly on Bras... ( I go to debenhams now)

Also
Please make things in normal colours... it takes a special person to carry off Lime green and coral..

Please make Per Una blazers with full length sleeves.

Please make work skirts without that naff leather trim

Finbar · 16/05/2015 10:11

A poster mentioned the stripper shoes - I agree... STOP THEM NOW!
Stop the stiletto and flimsy kitten heels. I want heels, but not spindley tottery ones, if I was 20 yes, but not at my age (not disclosing!)

More of the Limited Collection t shirts with a bit of elastane in them - they are great, but you only do white and black.

I want to buy from you. Please have a look at Jigsaw/Hobbs/Uniqlo/Mint Velvet/ even Laura Ashley. I really do want to buy, but your colours and the frills- oh my eyes!

DustBunnyFarmer · 16/05/2015 10:18

Please make things in normal colours... it takes a special person to carry off Lime green and coral..

I'm probably showing my age here, but that kind of Cuprinol permatan sported by lots of young women these days probably looks fab against lime green and coral. Sadly, the permatanned women would probably rather kill themselves than be seen in M&S. In retail, "if you build it, they will come" really doesn't work.

splodgeness · 16/05/2015 10:27

Sack the person who puts a frill or a sparkle or beads or flowers or weird pockets or piping on EVERYTHING!! Just leave the clothes alone and they would be much nicer.

Agree about the colours, they are awful. I want them to do what Uniqlo do - a small range of good plain basics.

Bunbaker · 16/05/2015 10:29

"Please make Per Una blazers with full length sleeves"

Why make any blazer/jacket/coat/jumper/cardigan with three quarter length sleeves? They are so pointless. The reason I wear them is to keep warm. If I want shorter sleeves I will wear a shirt or T-shirt.

BeaufortBelle · 16/05/2015 10:36

Echoing the simplicity and quality. I want good quality classic, well made:

Trousers
Skirts (on or below the knee)
Dresses
Knitwear
Jackets
Blouses/tops

I do not want the myriad of cheap suits you produce for work - they are awful. I want good quality separates in plain, simple colours. Perhaps a print skirt for the summer but with a toning fitted cardigan. Think Navy, Black, Grey, Beige, Blues, and forget the fluorescents and the whimsy.

I would pay more for stuff like that.

Also, at 5'7" I need to be able to find a lot more Long. Less than long is too short for me.

Am I perhaps saying you need to produce less stuff and more sizes. I went out last weekend to spend money on work clothes. I couldn't find a single thing that was simple enough, cut well, hung well, in the right length and/or colour and that wasn't chock full of viscose. So, Quality fabrics too.
