Does anyone like the way she dresses, or is she generally classed as quite boring on here?

She seems to wear the same coats as the Queen. I think she looks elegant but boring. That said, I am in no position to judge, what with my leggings and long tops Wink

hollyisalovelyname · 10/05/2015 10:41

She must have a will of iron to stay that thin.

She has a home gym and pool and someone to cook for her. Helps I'm sure!

CatOfTheWoods · 10/05/2015 10:53

I like her clothes, I spot when she wears Orla Kiely and a few other things that are not actually that boring, quite quirky. She does tend to look conservative in general but I usually like her dresses.

I don't like her hair and make-up as much, I think they are what make her look older and "safe". I am itching to get at her with some light fresh colours instead of the black eyeliner, and I'd love her to get a funky choppy bob.

Momagain1 · 10/05/2015 10:53

Part of it is the time to work out, and good food options at her beck and call. But it's also genetics. Her mum is a healthy size, and appears to have always been.

CatOfTheWoods · 10/05/2015 10:57

I did like her post-birth dress a lot. She must have had to wear five industrial strength pads and waterproof pants, but you know, maybe it wasn't just pressure on her, maybe that's how she sees herself and the look she likes. I defend her right to wear whatever she wants post-birth, even if it is heels and a white dress.

I also LOVED her wedding dress, it was a masterpiece of princess-meets-modern. Not boring at all.

Twinklestar2 · 10/05/2015 11:03

Cat I would LOVE it if she cut her hair! I think she would look extremely chic.

Like Sam Cam I like the Cat Cam off duty look.

I like Catherine's designer look better than her higher end high street look.

pinkfrocks · 10/05/2015 11:10

I don't know if the yellow and white dress was like the Queen's- it was by a top designer so maybe it's a really 'in' look and we just don't know it!

Bit like Sam cam's buttoned up blue 'call the midwife' dress she wore last week. These people have the choice of everything out there, so maybe it's us who doesn't know what's on trend!

Bunbaker · 10/05/2015 11:17

"She must have a will of iron to stay that thin."

Not necessarily. For a start she is slim, not thin. Secondly, she might have a similar metabolism to me. I don't diet and have never dieted, I am slim and was back in my size 12 jeans three weeks after having DD.

Sorry, not what you wanted to hear.

I think she's one of those people that just doesn't eat much or take much pleasure in food. And its no bother to her. Some people just don't get hungry a lot (like me!)
I used to really dislike her style and dismiss it as boring but now I actually think she looks quite polished and chic. Its nothing like I would wear but I think she's good inspiration for some women that are unsure of what to wear.

RubbishRobotFromTheDawnOfTime · 10/05/2015 11:40

I always think she's got far too much hair and would look great with a shoulder-length bob. Much sharper.

pinkfrocks · 10/05/2015 11:41

I think she is too thin. Compare her with the photos hen she was at uni when she was maybe half a stone or more heavier and she looked more healthy.
I don't think post-baby weight/ size is an issue. I put on only 14 lbs with each pregnancy and each baby was around 7lbs. I was back to my normal size within days.

Sansarya · 10/05/2015 15:33

Clothes aside, I think that her makeup could use a lighter touch. The heavy black eyeliner looks a bit dated and I'm sure she'd look equally nice with something softer.

But then again, I doubt she cares what we think!!

bananaramadramallama · 10/05/2015 15:46

I think size wise that she's just built that way - tall & willowy with a tendency towards too thin at times, most likely unintentionally when she does (a bit like my short & stocky tending easily towards too fat).

I love her hair, and think she looks great on & off 'duty'. She plays it overly safe, but I suppose she has to really.

Stevie77 · 10/05/2015 15:47

She usually looks nice, not my style but it suits the occasion and how she's expected to look. She does sometimes wear some 'older' styles but I guess that's part of the role.

I do however find her shoe choices boring, she could be more adventurous or stick to courts but in more modern styles. I read somewhere that part of the protocols is to always wear tights, nude or otherwise, and the boring courts.

The eyeliner under the eye though = horror!

looki · 10/05/2015 16:06

I don't think she is anywhere near a size 12 as per the above poster's comparison!!! I'd say she is naturally a size 8-10 but with diet and exercise is nearer a 6.

I also don't think she has hair extensions. The difference between her uni days and now is that she has a hair stylist who can give her professional blowdrys whenever she asks? I read that Willuam said in jest that her hair is a 'nightmare' as it is so long and thick.

I think she is naturally quite conservative but probably even more so when the world is set to criticise everything she wears.

I'd love to know her true personality. Determined, discreet, self controlled, laughs easily is what I imagine. I'd love to know if she has major strops, is impatient, is a neat freak or messy, watches EastEnders etc :-)

rubybleu · 10/05/2015 16:12

I like the way she dresses - I have a similar figure and a work 'uniform' of endless Hobbs/Reiss/LK Bennett fitted dresses. I have very thin legs and arms, my mum is still the same at 55 and a few sizes bigger. If she puts on weight it probably goes onto her middle first.

Not a huge fan of her nude shoes. I've always thought her hair was all hers but her sister is nowhere near as luxuriant of lock and I thought in her recent hospital steps photo that you could just see a hair extension plug/clip on her right side.

JoanHickson · 10/05/2015 16:12

I too think that is her own hair.

I would guess a six in jeans and twelve in jackets as she has the male inverted triangle body shape.

I imagine she has her clothes altered.

noddyholder · 10/05/2015 16:18

The extensions are visible sometimes. She is a clothes horse figure wise most things would look good on her but her choices are dull and I don't think she is attractive at all!
