I'm pretty sure that Santa is the phantom kaftan hater Wink

Hope Queen and Shop are feeling more human now. Sounds like you had a fab time Shop and looked great too.

Hi to Happygirl, great bags and love the leather pencil skirt - was my favourite when Dry linked hundreds a few she was considering.

Think I'll have to pass on the comme de garçon dress - the washing instructions are, it can't be washed so won't work for me Grin

I spent 6 1/2 hours watching football today and Ootd was white skinnies, navy boat neck t, navy boyfriend cardigan and a blanket - oh the glamour!

Enjoy your evening Dry, great outfit.

shopafrolic · 17/05/2015 18:00

Yup Santa told me on no account to even waft near to a kaftan when I went to GC

Hi fedup thanks re skirt - fingers crossed I can retain my dignity while sitting Grin

AmberNectarine · 17/05/2015 18:51

I was thinking how great you look in your photos shop. Bride was indeed stunning.

Have had a lovely weekend - work drinks and dinner with DH on Friday night, cinema and quiet night in yesterday and today went to the fair with the children. Got told I was looking very toned by several people on Friday night so I was please about that! Now just about to pop out for a run.

Not much fashion news to report - got a few bits from Topshop - will link later!

shopafrolic · 17/05/2015 19:27

Thanks Amber

hello!

I've been swamped all day with uni work and my very kind friend came round to help me to get to grips with one of the programs ive got to work on. i've been struggling a lot with this particular program so i threw myself on their mercy and begged for some help!

No fashion news to report. on a sort of ban as I'm tryign not to buy anything other than what I actually need which right now is just plain cotton vests in various colours and a couple of pairs of jeans. I really don't need anything else right now and I'm trying not to just refill the space I cleared recently.

Hopefully now I've got to grips with certain things, things will get easier for me over the next month or two but apologies in advance if i'm not around as much as usual or just lurk as because it's end of year, everything is a bit crazy and all over the place so i'm going to be in college a lot more than i'm at home!

Karbea · 17/05/2015 21:17

one before I went on hols I got a couple of these, I've only washed them a couple of times, but for £3.50 each you can't go wrong.

OneLittleLady · 17/05/2015 21:21

they look good karbea and I have a big, huge in fact, tesco close by so they will definitely have them as they have a large clothing section.

Wondering whether to risk wearing my new boots tomorrow, I'm hoping they've softened enough for it to be okay but I know from experience they give awful, awful blisters if you haven't broken them in enough

MyVegasBaby · 17/05/2015 21:32

Finally relaxing after a busy weekend entertaining DC and catching up on gardening, not very glamorous but needs must!
Some rare me time to look forward to next weekend, hair being done and girls night out, need to start thinking what to wear! Not been 'out out' for ages, weather isn't looking too warm sadly so probably go for skinnies, heels and top combo, another reason to ensure I get a bit of shopping time this week!
Picked these up today and they are fab for the price, soft leather and a comfy padded insole, wore them today to run DC around and very comfy. silver ballet pumps.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 17/05/2015 21:34

Good luck with it all One! I bet you're looking forward to the summer break.

Hi all. Thanks for the outfit support last night, I felt great except for 2 things:

  1. don't wear stilettos to the shard, the top level has floorboards with gaps between, I nearly broke an ankle!
  2. Someone took my lovely asos blazer from the restaurant cloakroom. I don't know if it was a mistake but I am gutted and I don't expect to get it back. The staff were lovely and offered to reimburse me, I was very honest Grin and said it was £50, they gave me it there and then. So it's one step back on the navy blazer front, I now need a black evening one too! We had a lovely evening though, made it to Aquashard for a couple of rounds, which was fantastic.

Went shopping today with my Dsis and tried on LOADS of jackets but only bought some delicates laundry bags in Lakeland Hmm

Hope you're having fun Dry, I remember that skirt. Fab outfit.

Shop you looked stunning last night.

QueenC I love the gucci blazer too but I think it's a bit long for me. (Am now a jacket expert, minus one jacket!)

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 17/05/2015 21:34

didn't mean that to sound as though I'd buy the Gucci jacket if it was shorter! I wish!

Karbea · 17/05/2015 21:55

blair did I tell you I left a blazer on the plane when we went away? So I'm one down too :(

Fedupnagging · 17/05/2015 21:56

Shame about your blazer Blair but fair play to them for reimbursing you. Glad you had a lovely evening though.

Nice ballet flats Myvegas and don't forget we can help you choose your outfit for next week - how about the comme de garçon 'dress' Queen linked earlier Grin

Lovely comments Amber, all your hard work is obviously worth it.

One sounds like you have a lot of work to do; I am sure you will get it all done and then you have the long summer hols to look forward to.

bettykt · 17/05/2015 22:01

Glad you had a great time last night, gutting about the jacket, was it new? Can you re-buy it?

Novice glad you found your cream jacket, lovely holiday dresses and i LOVE the kaftans. They will look great on you.

Good F Connection buys Happy

Marsha have you decided whether your buying or hiring your gown?

Been out cycling with the dc today so no style news for me at all. Hope to do better tomorrow but I think it's going to rain again

Some good news for me, I've finally reached my goal weight, but I might try and lose another 4lbs for good measure. It's been a very slow process. It's strange how your taste buds change when you haven't eaten certain foods in a while, had a Biscuit today it felt as if I was eating pure sugar and I didn't enjoy it Shock

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 17/05/2015 22:15

Karbea I remember you saying :( are you having any luck finding a replacement?

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 17/05/2015 22:24

betty no it was old and had already been repaired once at asos's expense lol. It was this one, with Balmain-esque pointy shoulders. Ironically the jacket DH was wearing, which I had to borrow for the walk home, was actual Balmain!

Drywhiteplease · 17/05/2015 22:33

Well done Betty .
Amber great to receive compliments after so much hard work.
MyVegas silver flats go with everything, great buy.

Evening was good thanks to the Pinot noir but confirmed my view that my Dfil is a very rude man to waiters kids that is NOT how to talk to waiters and that Dmil is a bitch spend all my time trying to boost DDs self esteem, with one comment all ruined apart from that it went well Hmm ......

AmberNectarine · 17/05/2015 22:35

betty well done on the GW - don't go too far though - I thought you looked fab when I met you!

fedup I have to admit to wearing a sleeveless crop top purely to show off, but hey - I've worked for it Wink

Back from my run, ended up doing 10k which was more than I intended but realised I was on target to beat my PB, so I had to keep going! I love these warmer, lighter evenings.

So, my topshop order:

This top was a lovely colour but I ordered a 10 which was far too big so back it went - will try the 8, because I don't have anything pale blue.

Not exciting but I love the fit of this vest. Again ordered too big but re bought in the right size and have worn twice already.

Wanted to try one of these drapey tops as they are everywhere at the moment. Managed to order the right size and got an 8. Great fit and will be really useful, I think.

This necklace - I just think it's fun!

I have bought most of Topshop's stock this season - their stuff just seems to suit me and actually I find the quality pretty decent. I also think they're one of the few places who cut for women of average height, unlike Zara etc.

Right, enough wittering. I need to go to bed!

AmberNectarine · 17/05/2015 22:38

Blair sympathies on the jacket - I have a 'perfect' All Saints blazer that I would weep over if I lost.

Dry sorry about the in-laws. I have had a few ishoos with mine in the past.

MyVegasBaby · 17/05/2015 22:45

Just lying in bed having a browse and ordered this, love this colour at the moment and a bargain!

Aqua top

shopafrolic · 18/05/2015 09:18

Love that draped top Amber - well done on the 10k
Blair what a shame about the jacket - the fact they refunded suggests they get the issue a lot.....?

OP posts:
Stokey · 18/05/2015 09:50

Great drapey top Amber and like the colour of your aqua one MyVegas.

How annoying about your jacket Blair but good customer service to refund on the spot.

Thanks for the compliments on the green skirt - I'm still wearing opaques with it so have been either wearing pointy flats or Stans on my feet Bernice. I always take public transport so it needs to be flats.

No fashion news here but a bit sad this morning. DD1 (who is only 5) was saying on the way to school that some of the girls in her class don't want to be friends with her because she wears glasses and so is "different". Breaks my heart that they are starting being mean so young. I'm not sure whether to have a word with her teacher or with the mothers of the girls involved - one of whom I know and is very nice and I'm sure would be shocked.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 18/05/2015 09:58

Oh stokey hugs, your poor DD. I was a youngish glasses wearer (9) and only wore them in class and to watch TV until I could get contacts at 16. It's horrible that your DD's confidence to wear hers is already being dented. I hope you can sort it out with the other mum.

shop I hadn't thought of that, they seemed shocked and were so apologetic but I've never seen a cloakroom so open in a restaurant - literally a rail of coats by the entrance!

Anyone else seen H&M's latest designer collab?

Great topshop shopping Amber, the necklace is very marant-esque. I am getting my sister to pick up one of the jackets I tried there yesterday as I've now decided I need it!
