Dry and Linus have saved the dress details so will come back to you- just need to get my meetings to run to time to give me time to get to there & Stories!!

HappyGirlNow · 17/05/2015 11:16

And I just got these from French Connection - 20% further off the sales prices so bargains Grin

Skirt for about £90 originally £165
Dresses both under £30 - one originally £75 and one, I think, £120 originally..

A review for the skirt says it opens when you sit so I've sized up.. I'm not sure about the longer dress. Off to Portofino in a couple of weeks, dinner at Hotel Splendido the last night, thought it might be nice for that.. But if not I have plenty other options.

Oh Shop how fabulous! You did look so gorgeous though. That dress is just perfect for your body shape.

Stokey love the colour of the skirt, it would drown me though! Grin

QueenC love those links. That gown is stunning. In a corner of my wardrobe I have a whole load of gowns from 10 years of going to an annual ball. I refuse to ditch them even though I need the space! Also love the Gucci blazer and the Zara one Happy linked too. Both too long for me, but stunning.

Dry, after that from your dh you stick with us babe, we'll see you right Grin

BrandyAlexander · 17/05/2015 12:00

So I started packing for holidays and decided that I am really bored of holiday wardrobe. Some of it is 12/13 years old. I got rid of all my bikinis last year and ordered new ones so it's the turn of clothes this year. So I have ordered this blue Kaftan and this white Kaftan. Go on Kaftan hater reveal thyself!Grin

Also got new flip flops and a few dresses for the evening. I got this dress first. I am finally following Sleep and have ordered a few dresses from TART to try out. This one, this and this. I tend to wear brighter prints on hols do thought I would branch out. I think they look good on the model so fingers crossed for me. Sleep looked amazing in hers last summer.Envy

Also thank you to Betty, I got this Précis Petite jacket that you linked. The one I got was too big but it looked great so waiting for the smaller one to arrive. I also got this Miss Selfridge one which I wore on Friday and looked really nice.

Karbea · 17/05/2015 12:25

novice I've a tart dress in red! very similar to the red and white one you linked. I took it to cancun with us, really nice and comfy!

HappyGirlNow · 17/05/2015 12:30

Like those kaftans novice - what material are they? I couldn't see on the site but probably just missed it...

Love the red and white dress - it's gorgeous! I'm the opposite to you, I tend to stick to neutrals on hols although I've bought a gorgeous cobalt blue dress for one of the nights.

Love your jackets too. I'm an absolute sucker for anything cream and have far too many cream jackets Blush

BerniceBobsHerHair · 17/05/2015 13:27

Lovely links as always QueenC

Linus I googled Demis Roussos and came up with pictures of this man - who is he and what is his connection to kaftans??

I also googled Geri Halliwell's wedding dress and this picture was the first image - was horrified everyone was saying how nice it was and even more horrified that Novice said she wore similar for her wedding! Luckily I have realised my mistake and the real wedding dress is very nice.

Yesterday I was channelling the 70s with red clogs, Lib's agnes b shirt tucked into my high waisted frayed edge 'flares' (Shop I did try to take a pic but they didn't look that good - Susie So So did it better.

Lib great sales pitch for the RI Jenna jeans - I have bought a pair of black ones. Enjoy your break in Ireland. It's supposed to be rainy here too so tell your DH that!

Blair your outfit for yesterday night sounded lovely.

Shop glad you had a fab time, hope you are coping with the headache today. Sounds like it was worth it.

Stokey I love that green skirt, beautiful colour - what shoes have you been wearing with it?

Novice I think the tart dresses would work really well on you. I am being a bit po faced but I hate typing out the word tart! Must think of pies /cakes and not derogatory terms for women.

Dry your DH's comment is priceless.

Welcome to HappyGirl - great shopping. I like the black Lanvin best. I do like studs though.

Marsha could you do a smart jumpsuit? Seems more in keeping with your style - saw some lovely Stella M ones on outnet. Hiring sounds a good plan. Someone on another thread linked a full length DVF which I liked the look of too.

QueenCardigan · 17/05/2015 13:41

Lovely dresses novice. Where are you going?

I'm a broken woman today. Both me and dh can hardly move off the sofa Grin

QueenCardigan · 17/05/2015 13:44

QueenCardigan · 17/05/2015 14:16

I don't get this. If you wore it wouldn't everyone think you'd just added a piece of cheap stuff yourself rather than paid £1800 Confused

QueenCardigan · 17/05/2015 14:20

anyone? Grin

QueenCardigan · 17/05/2015 14:22

for amber

BrandyAlexander · 17/05/2015 14:27

Happy, the kaftans are crochet. Not very clear on the pin! Where were you last year when I was having a meltdown over not having the right cream jacket?!!!

Karbea, that's good to hear on the dresses, as we are similar shaped. I have packed my strapless bras though, my boobs don't defy gravity as much these days!

QueenC, it's our half Mediterranean term break, it's very me, award winning 5 star luxury resort Grin. Check your emails and you will see exactly where. Dh got grumpy as I booked 4 holidays at once on our credit card and we clear the card each month. However, we resolved the stand off over the flights!

Bernice I shouted with laughter when I saw your Geri link. No, I definitely didn't look like that on my wedding day!??

HappyGirlNow · 17/05/2015 14:31

QueenC oh my goodness that denim jacket looks like a 5 year old's taken a roll of cotton wool and glued it down the side! As for the Commen des Garçons dress.. I have no words.

QueenCardigan · 17/05/2015 14:32

for dry

HappyGirlNow · 17/05/2015 14:35

Haha sorry novice glad to see you've got your lovely cream jacket now.. Grin I'd popped this Zara blazer in my shortlist and I've just removed it - how many cream jackets does one person need?? Blush

Karbea · 17/05/2015 14:43

novice I wore strapless bras with mine too.

Drywhiteplease · 17/05/2015 14:53

Happy last year I had an epic leather skirt search, tried on loads, the FC one does open very easily.
Bernice DR was a Greek singer who had a hit in the UK, "Forever", in the '70s. Being a larger chap, and Greek in the 79s, he was known for his impressive kaftan wearing.

Out for an early dinner with ILs. Have my silver lame catsuit out but just doesn't feel right Grin. Smart casual stuff is what I wear to work. Bit chilly girl bare legs. Can't wear jeans. Feel a try on session coming on.

Lovely top QueenC

Drywhiteplease · 17/05/2015 14:55

Novice I love all of those dresses. Think the pink/red one ESP will look fab on you. If I were going back to Greece Sad this year I'd get a couple.

HappyGirlNow · 17/05/2015 15:16

Perhaps I'll just stand drywhite Blush Grin

shopafrolic · 17/05/2015 16:13

Waves to all. Went to see friends and family run a 10k today (clearly I didn't run) Confused
My DB who hasn't seen me in a few months said I was looking beach babe fit Hmm and then asked if it was ok for DBs to say that. I said I'm grabbing as many compliments as I can this weekend. I can only assume this colour malarkey has finally paid off, I'm happy with how my hair has grown now, and the Pilates is paying off.
For those of you who know me on FB how stunning was the bride yesterday? Just perfect in lace - so beautiful.
Knackered now, so much booze I couldn't sleep last night and then woke early. Yuk.
Hope everyone is enjoying the sun x

Righto. Outfit for early dinner with ILs in hotel of unknown poshness:

Channelling the lovely Blair with a pencil skirt (Warehouse last year, navy background floral)
Uniqlo pale blue fine merino l/s round neck sweater
Silver pointy flats (Clarks)

I always have a problem with this skirt finding shoes and bag to match. Going for tan bag but a bit Hmm
