Predicts RI Jenna Jeans totally sell out after that convincing sales pitch from SA extraordinaire liberty..... I'm Tempted, but NO!!!!!

Novice who's the kaftan bashed? Reveal yourself.

So, when Marsha asked "do you ever buy cosmetics so you can get the free gift" I thought smugly "moi? Never!"
Went to Boots to return a faulty item.....came out £50 lighter and with a free gift Shock Grin HOW DID THIS HAPPEN TO A WOMAN KNOWN FOR HER SPENDING SELF CONTROL?!!!!! I blame the toothache again

Shop your day sounds superb, have a wonderful time. I need an occasion to dress up for. May go completely NUTS for the MU Grin

Drywhiteplease · 16/05/2015 09:28

One of the things I bought was the new miracle serum " Protect and Perfect Intense" Advanced no less from No7.......I'll be the MNV guineapig. clutches at straws

MarshaBrady · 16/05/2015 09:28

Pre-fall so early it matches Spring's 14 degree days.

Geri's dress is lovely it suits her shape - petite and curvy. But I prefer the veil when it's behind which probably defeats the purpose. Love the flowers. That's my favourite part - the fresh pink and green.

MarshaBrady · 16/05/2015 09:29

Haha Dry good going! Grin

MarshaBrady · 16/05/2015 09:31

Oh I have a fashion thing - am head in the sand. I need a full length gown for opera opening with client. This week.

If I can't find anything - and also would I ever wear it again - if I do girl meets dress can I book a trying on appointment in working hours? Grin

Shop have fun! Pink yes

Karbea · 16/05/2015 09:54

I despair at mumsnet too, especially the style and beauty threads, a lot of people push for a very natural wear what you like look, which is fine... But it's hardly style or beauty.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/05/2015 10:26

Hi all.

Yep karbea it sometimes puzzles me too but I guess S&B attracts all sorts - the gossipers, people who are stuck in a rut, people who are actually interested in style. And Voguettes!

Marsha that is tough! I think hiring sounds like a good option but I don't know anything about the companies that offer it.

I actually thought geri looked a bit safe. Lovely of course, but it didn't seem quite her because me and her are best mates of course Wink

Lib the jeans sound fab. I used to love RI jeans a few years back. Now somehow I only own premium denim (few pairs though) despite working full time in an office Hmm

shop have a lovely time today. I am not going to any more weddings this year, wish I was!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/05/2015 10:30

Also, I need help Voguettes, so I'm putting this in a separate post. Tonight DH and I are going to the Shard - we had a voucher to go up to the top, followed by a nice dinner. What do I wear?! I guess I could go smart casual, but I definitely want to go to the Aqua bar inside the shard, because I love the one that overlooks Regent St. It will be quite smart in there I think (has anyone been?). So is this a full on dress situation, or would separates (even smart jeans with heels?) be ok? What would you do? :)

MarshaBrady · 16/05/2015 10:33

Blair yes I've been, the view is so good, you could dress up. How about the lovely Stella skirt to start the outfit?

HappyGirlNow · 16/05/2015 10:41

Hi all Grin Never properly read this thread before but I've looked through it now and it seems really up my street - more so than most threads on S&B!

So I guess I'll be popping in here from time to time. I don't really buy a lot of 'designer' clothes, more mid to high end high street, but do love a designer bag..

Latest purchase for me was the Lanvin mini Sugar and I'm planning on buying the Sugar shortly.. I'm slithering between the beige and the black - any opinions?

I think I'll get a lot out of this thread though my bank balance may suffer as a result Wink

The other colour.. Although it's described as grey..

And I'm not slithering, I'm swithering Grin

QueenCGrin didn't mean you lovey! The dress is similar to KMs, I actually thought when KM stepped out of her car on her day " oh we almost had the same dress". No, my issue was with people on the other threadsaying that she's trying too hard to be KM without looking at analytically from a clothes perspective. As Marsha perfectly put it, she's petite and curvy like me and that shape dress suits you best when you're that shape.

Speaking of Marsha, omg what fun! Will you buy or rent? I am going to enjoy this vicariously!

Dry those no 7 serums get really good write ups and reviews.

Blair Shard is one of my go to places. Am there at least once a month. which is why they greet me like an old friendBlush Love it, and you can be both smart casual or dress up. You're not eating at AquaShard though are you? I like it there for breakfast but dinner has been mixed experience.

And finally huge big warm welcome to HappyGirl. I promise you that despite its name the average buy on here is more high street than designer but there are some great links from designer to bargain charity shop finds.

HappyGirlNow · 16/05/2015 11:00

Fabby novice thank you and lovely to 'meet' you Grin

OneLittleLady · 16/05/2015 11:50

big welcome to happygirl love the bags , i'd go for grey i think if it were me

having my eyebrows dyed today. they are in such a sorry state, the hairs keep falling out so the are in a pretty half bald scabby state right now so i'm hoping having them lightly dyed will fill in some of the gaps so that i look a little better

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/05/2015 11:54

Thanks Marsha and novice, I knew someone would have been! How cool that they always remember you novice. Nope not eating at Aquashard, or even in the Shard actually. Would love to some other time, but we have to stick to the voucher (which wouldn't let us eat earlier than 10pm, this is turning into a habit!)
Stella skirt sounds like a good starting point, I am going to wear it next weekend to a family party but I still need to get the cpw down. Maybe with a silk cami, but the only one I have is navy, would that be odd?

Hello Happy, welcome! I think I prefer the grey/taupe Lanvin, because I'm not sure on the studs.

bettykt · 16/05/2015 12:40

Hello Happy I too would go for the grey/taupe Lanvin

Shop enjoy your wedding

Marsha full length gown shopping, wow, that green Elie Saab one that was worn by the ballerina, oops forgotten her name Blush was beautiful.

Blair have a great time tonight, I'm sure whatever you'll wear you'll look great.

I also thought Geri looked lovely, her dress was gorgeous and it really suited her.

Another convert to RI jeans here, am finally wearing the Brooke flares with my ASOS sandals today and they're fab. Although I may get them taken up a tad

Am enjoying a few child free hours whilst dh takes the dc to their various Saturday morning activities. A quiet house is such bliss at times.

HappyGirlNow · 16/05/2015 12:47

Thanks for welcome and the advice Grin just realised I posted the wrong photo of the black one Blush it's not the studded version, the black is the same as they grey, no studs.

HappyGirlNow · 16/05/2015 12:49

I also liked Geri Halliwell's dress and I loved her flowers - gorgeous pastels..

Drywhiteplease · 16/05/2015 16:53

Welcome Happy.... Lovely bag. Both colours would be so versatile. It depends on what you already have I suppose. I'd buy the mushroom as I have a Gucci Disco Hobo in black that does day and night very well. If you don't have a black already, I'd get the black. Is that any help? Confused

With regards Geri......its a lovely gown but I agree more traditional than I'd have expected from her.

LinusDKD · 16/05/2015 17:13

Welcome happygirl! I would go for the black but only because the mushroom is a colour that wouldn't work with most of my clothes.

blair I've only been to the Aquashard for breakfast but any excuse to get dressed up sounds good to me. How about your zarita and Aquazurra heels? Do the colours work together?

BrandyAlexander · 16/05/2015 17:16

I could murder a glass of rosé. The prospect of my annual medical on Monday and wanting to be svelte in a bikini next Sunday are the only things keeping me away from the wine fridge.Hmm Grin We had our usual Saturday lunch out and I even went for the sensible option while dh had ham and eggsEnvy

BrandyAlexander · 16/05/2015 17:18

Linus are you not the kaftan haterGrin Oh gosh unless I meant Santa?

HappyGirlNow · 16/05/2015 17:29

Thanks for all the opinions Grin I absolutely love the grey/taupe one but when I think about it I do like to wear a lot of tan shades and I don't think I'd like it with that so think I'll plump for the black - want it as versatile and wearable for me as possible at that price..

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/05/2015 17:50

Linus I wore that outfit on my hen do Smile I've decided to go a bit more casual (for me) and wear the Aquazzuras with high waist dark Acne skinnies, navy silk cami tucked in, and asos black tuxedo blazer.

Sounds like I will have to try the Aquashard breakfast sometime! Perhaps after the Duck & Waffle one. I won't even ask if anyone has been there as I know people will have and I would be too jealous Grin Every time I get close to making plans that involve going there, they somehow get changed or cancelled, so it's become a bit of a "thing" that I need to go!

Good choice Happygirl, without the studs I agree black is the most versatile.

LinusDKD · 16/05/2015 18:47

Not sure if santa is the kaftan hater but I am certainly not. Grin

Your outfit sounds great blair! Dressed up but cool at the same time.

God, I miss London sometimes! I love living here but the restaurants are mediocre to say the least.
