So all of this Grin and Shock andHmm means nothing to you?!!!

My youth definitely down to Ma and Pa Novice genes. Check out dm on my Facebook pictures, she looks 20/25 years younger. Tell your ds that when I interview I notice shoes so he needs good habits now in case in runs into someone like me!

Lib get off pin!! I am intermittently pinning hallways so that should bore you!!!

bettykt · 12/04/2015 14:20

Novice I've been reading the dress code in the US, it's really interesting. I wouldn't last a day Blush BUT if I knew that's what was expected/the norm then I would obviously up my game on the grooming front. Not sure how I would tame my frizz though Confused

Hello and welcome Mazjacks

Shop sounds as if you've had a great time, holidays are such a great tonic aren't they?

Dry glad to hear the Botox is doing its job? Are you pleased with the results so far, hilarious encounter of Blairs MNV wedding guests antics last night Grin

Lib get back to the books Grin

Having a lazy day here, back to the grindstone tomorrow Sad I hate the Mon-Fri constant rushing and having a million things on my to do list, always to do with some form of school event. Arghh rant over.

santamarianovella · 12/04/2015 15:41

dry that's really hilarious Grin,

shop love that you haven't forgotten mnv, and are on full recruiting mode, Grin. And a big welcome to all newbies,

lib hang in there it will be over soon,

linus love it all, I knew the Tods loafers were going to be navy! Very chic

betty I've been reading the thread too, very interesting,

I watched Dior and I last night and was completely blown away, one of the best fashion documentaries,im very interested in watching the process of desgining, all the logistics that goes with it,more than the final result.
one of the most interesting things about raf Simmons ,is that he doesn't sketch at all, but uses a filing system for creating the designs, its like a mood board within a mood board for each and every creation, the way he incorporates modern art with old world couture technique is just fascinating, no wonder some dresses costs over € 200k , Shock
I was crying by the end when he presented the collection, ,

OneLittleLady · 12/04/2015 15:48

Cranagh · 12/04/2015 15:53

Shop you look great, and Maz, you too!

I want to see photos of Blair!

Muddling, I sold my Alexa as it showed signs of wear after only being used a couple of times, maybe I was just unlucky.

I worked in NY for years, definitely women are very well groomed for the most part. It was much cheaper to have weekly blow dries, teeth whitened, manicures etc there. The white tights some of the women I worked with wore in summer were awful though.

Did anyone order anything while the Shopbop discount was running? I got two Velvet tops which I love this and this and a Splendid tee shirt. Also a Baukjen sale top. And a pair of leggings from Me & Em, more trousers than leggings. Oh and this Gap dress, Grin not very exciting but good for the school run. Need to put money aside now for sales.

Cranagh · 12/04/2015 15:55

x-post sorry about the diagnosis, One but glad the treatment is helping already.

Cranagh · 12/04/2015 15:55

Not sure why I added a grin there, the Gap dress is not that exciting at all!

mazjacks · 12/04/2015 16:06

Hi Everyone, I'm a married 29 year old mum of 2. Our daughter is 4 and our son is 2. I'm a stay at home mum and I love anything fashion and beauty related! :-D x

muddlingalongquitenicely · 12/04/2015 16:08

Thanks Cranagh i worry about the colour of the somerset and will i use it enough. I have an alexa style bag which is very stiff and looks more like a satchel for work. But like the slouchy relaxed look for weekends etc.
Its just the chocolate colour will it go with summer colours Confused

QueenCardigan · 12/04/2015 16:09

Feeling stuffed after a carluccios lunch. Wore my new keds whichnare v comfy. It's sunny here but windy which makes it feel cold.

Update on the boden ravello top. I initially ordered the grey spot one but the background was really cream and it did nothing for me at all. I now have the navy and blue one with the silver on its way! That should see me through summer! Perfect top for me.

That's great news one. It will also be encouraging for your uni tutor as hopefully you won't miss so much anymore.

muddlingalongquitenicely · 12/04/2015 16:13

Hi Mazjacks great to see you here Smile

Cranagh · 12/04/2015 16:54

Lovely top, QueenC.

I'd go for a grey or taupe bag rather than chocolate brown, Muddling.

shopafrolic · 12/04/2015 16:59

Yay Mazjacks you're sticking around. Thought I might have only managed to sign you up because we'd had so much to drink! So I'm sat on my sun lounger. We have one more night here and then fly tomorrow at 6pm Cayman time. DH and I were laughing this morning as he enjoyed his eggs benedict with truffles and I reminded him he'll be back to toast and a banana in a few days Grin
One so pleased you have a diagnosis at least and glad to hear that treatment is making you feel better
The pictures being posted now of Blair on FB are just stunning. I liked a few Cranagh maybe you'll see them in your sidebar?
We're going to a sushi restaurant. I've only had it once before - any recommendations as to what I should try are welcome!
How's the weather? I'm hearing rumours of 20 degrees?

Cranagh · 12/04/2015 17:09

17 degrees in London today, Shop. Don't know Blair's real name so no photos! I like salmon sashimi, yellow tail sashimi, Californian/soft shell crab/salmon and avocado maki. Or get a bento box. Enjoy!

shopafrolic · 12/04/2015 17:22

Thanks Cranagh - glad to hear it's warming up at home. I might be able to show off my tan Smile

Drywhiteplease · 12/04/2015 17:30

Cranagh what is it with a american women and white tights? I noticed that too Confused

AmberNectarine · 12/04/2015 17:36

novice were you at Andersen? My DH started his career there.

Karbea · 12/04/2015 17:53

I worked at a consultancy for years and I started my career in suits (skirts), blouses, sheer tights, court shoes. We never really did dress down Fridays unless I was at a client site that did. By the end of my career I'd moved from consultancy selling externally to an internal marketing role where things were much more fashion led (this might have been due to the fact I worked with women, whereas is started my career as the only girl and had to look very professional to get a look in!).

mazjacks · 12/04/2015 18:43

Of course I'm around, love a chinwag! :-D you enjoy that sun lounger because we are currently sat waiting 2hrs before our flight in the smallest airport in the world!! I've got pants bigger than this place! Haha x

shopafrolic · 12/04/2015 18:47

PMSL. Click on the smiley face below the text box and look at all the fun you can have while you wait Smile Grin Wine Flowers Brew Cake Confused Hmm

shopafrolic · 12/04/2015 18:48

Santa that sounds excellent, looking forward to seeing it.

I nearly went into the world of consulting, a lot of my economics friends did. But went off in another direction. It was all trouser suits and shirt collars over the top of the lapel back then!

shopafrolic · 12/04/2015 20:41

I've retired to the room. It is so hot out there I feel as though I am sweating alcohol Grin

LinusDKD · 12/04/2015 21:09

Lol shop!

santa am going to watch Dior and I next week when DH is having a business dinner. I have a soft spot for Raf Simons Wink

I think he curates (or used to) the art collection of one of Belgium's wealthiest families but I'm not sure.

one glad you're feeling better and that you got a diagnosis but Sad that it's one more thing on your plate.

mazjacks I have DC the same age as yours but I am, ahem, just a teensy bit older than you. Grin
