For sunshine, Stans and pretty prints. Pale denim or white broderie.

Whatever you like for Spring, high st or designer.

Fab, chilled day with all the windows open and washing dried on the line. Sunshine does indeed make everything much better. Hope it's a sign of things to come. Smile

BlairWaldorfIsGettingMarried · 06/04/2015 20:40

Exciting Karbea! when and where?

Lol Marsha. He did it eventually and then cooked me a moussaka, result Grin

Forgot to mention a little asos order yesterday. Some bandeau tops to go under a see through dress that I can't wear a bra with, and this coat. I love trenches but wondered if a duster style might suit my style personality a bit more, less masculine.

QueenCardigan · 06/04/2015 21:28

Lovely weekend. Like you dry I've had all the windows thrown open today and done several loads of washing.
Exciting karbea. Do we need to plan your holiday wardrobe Wink
blair love that coat-great bright navy colour. Are you packed for next week?

Haircut tomorrow. Hurrah as I can hardly see. Just been browsing pin for inspiration. Considering going short. Not full on pixie short but shorter than a short bob. Not sure im brave enough though.

BlairWaldorfIsGettingMarried · 06/04/2015 22:17

I've got a spreadsheet/list QueenC Wink The most annoying thing will be the multitude of toiletries that I need to decant into 100ml bottles and put into ziploc bags. I only realised today! Yes, I'm hoping the coat will be a good colour for me.

I like your hair pins - the one with dark hair/fringe is lovely and not too different to how yours is now, so not too drastic if you're worried about making the decision last minute?

maradesbois · 06/04/2015 22:19

Hello!

Popping in briefly, still on hols.

Thanks for new spring thread Marsha.

QueenC you would suit shorter if you do decide to go for a change, something elfin, you remind me of (young!) Mia Farrow.

Blair enjoy the build up, so excited for you. x

Shop have an amazing time.

Not great weather here, sunny but really cold as in too cold for ankle-baring stans which was a bit disappointing. Nice relaxing family time though. No time for shops but going into town tomorrow although will mostly be petit bateau for ds.

QueenCardigan · 07/04/2015 08:26

blair you can't take too many. I think that you can only have 1000ml in total. And lipstick is included in that!

I trust my hairdresser I think so am just going to leave it to her. Dh has always put me off having short hair as ideally for him I'd have long blonde locks like when we first met in 1999. He just doesn't quite realise that perimenopausal hair is different to a 24 year olds hair. But he did say the other day that he's sure I'd look lovely with short hair. I know it shouldn't matter what he says/thinks but of course it does really even though he knows I hate the beard yet won't get rid of it.

Karbea · 07/04/2015 08:43

queen my dh is the same with hair! he has only ever known me with long blond hair. I have been all colours, all lengths. He and my mum get very grouchy with me if I consider another colour or length, it is however much darker blond now than it was when we met.

We are going to Mexico at the beginning of May, and turkey the beginning or July. Yes I need masses of help with a holiday wardrobe.

But first I need some ballet pumps or something to wear with jeans instead of boots. I also need a new nightie!

Topazandpearl · 07/04/2015 09:43

Exciting Karbea, lovely to have holidays to look forward to.

I am very Envy of all the sunshine. The fog came down here on Saturday and hasn't lifted yet. It is not too cold though, so I have been able brave bare ankles.

That coat is a lovely colour Blair.

I have got away with lipstick in my handbag on flights before. The first time, I forgot it was there. Now I don't bother putting it into my Ziplock bag and have never had a problem. Maybe it depends how 'liquid' it is? I guess I would make sure there was room if I had to transfer it.

I think short hair would suit you QueenC. If you trust your hairdresser, go for it!

My shopping impulses are all directed towards 'house-staging' at the moment (fluffy towels etc). The DC think it is hilarious that the posh (colour-coordinated) toiletries are for display purposes only!

Ellisisland · 07/04/2015 09:52

Found you all!

Have a fab holiday shop

karbea your holidays sound fab. Love holiday planning!

How did the hair cut go QueenC ? I had a blonde pixie cut when I met DH it's now long and brunette. DH isn't fussed what I do with my hair but DS ages 3 lives my long hair as he strokes it when he is tired. He gets very cross when I tie it back!

Off to Ireland next week. Hope the weather is good but not holding my breath

BlairWaldorfIsGettingMarried · 07/04/2015 10:37

Now I'm freaking out about the liquids. I just checked and the containers all have to fit into 1 plastic bag! As I wear contact lenses and am on all these cream medications, I think we might have to pay for a case Grin

Karbea not long to go, what do you need to buy before Mexico?

BrandyAlexander · 07/04/2015 10:49

Morning all! Glorious daySmile Topaz, I am so surprised it isn't sunny where you are. Bummer.

I am working at home today. Wearing this desigual top and gap long and lean jeans which are basically flared jeans for shorties. I feel like I am in a time warp.Grin I got the jeans for £8 at the end of the gap sale 2/3 years ago, bet they're more expensive now flares are in!!

BrandyAlexander · 07/04/2015 10:52

Blair, don't freak out, pay for the case. you will be annoyed if you can't take your beauty stuff with you. It's your honeymoon.you want to look and feel your best. Of course you probably won't need beauty stuff as you will be busyWink

Karbea · 07/04/2015 11:01

blair have you been to Muji to buy little containers?

I don't have to buy anything for holiday but it's always nice to buy something. I could do with getting some new cheapy t shirts and either little skirts or shorts (but I don't really wear shorts normally so think maybe this is a dumb idea.
I got a new bikini a couple of months ago after I had my colours done and dh got me some new flip flops at the end of the summer last year that I've not worn. I could do with something to wear to lunch and breakfast, as I struggle with that sort of thing. Loose cotton or linen dresses maybe...

QueenCardigan · 07/04/2015 11:51

I'm in the hairdressers at the moment.

blair how many liquids does dh need. Can some go in his case? If your creams are prescribed do they still count towards the allowance? Who are you flying with? With easyjet it's only the smaller size of case that they say is definitely allowed On the plane. The maximum size one may get put in the hold anyway depending how busy the flight is.

QueenCardigan · 07/04/2015 11:52

My neck feels naked!!

BlairWaldorfIsGettingMarried · 07/04/2015 12:16

Thanks all. I've persuaded him we should pay for a case! QueenC I think prescribed stuff only doesn't count if you have a letter or a copy of the prescription, I have a recent prescription for one but not the other. Karbea I have lots of little bottles from Boots that I would take anyway, but was prepared to buy more!
novice Grin
It's more hassle to decant/bag up/allocate between 2 cases I think, I don't care anymore! We are flying with Norwegian Air Hmm

Asos parcel arrived. According to my boss, whenever a parcel arrives at the office now, the courier just says it's for me even if it isn't Grin

Topazandpearl · 07/04/2015 12:23

Good decision on the case Blair, you will want all your nice things with you.

The sun is out now Grin.

Well done Queen, your neck will feel cold at first but you will soon get used to it.

QueenCardigan · 07/04/2015 13:23

Back from the hairdressers and really happy. We stuck to a v short bob with a view to going shorter next time if I want to. It's graduated so v short at the back but I love the shape. It's a bit severe at the moment as it always is when freshly cut but in a few days it'll look much softer.

Sunny again so in ballet flats and turned up jeans.

Drywhiteplease · 07/04/2015 13:31

No socks here either AND I'm not cold Grin still have best on though
I'm dressed as a true autumn today, olive skinnies, cream cotton lace top, stone biker jacket, animal flats......these are the colours I should wear.

queenC can't believe your DH still has his beard!!!Shock.........all the people who liked my DH's beard are now telling him how much younger he looks without it.

OneLittleLady · 07/04/2015 13:31

last full day in florida today.fly home tomorrow.ive had a great time and we are already planning on coming back in a couple of years!im tanned for the for the first time ever as well.

not looking forward to the flight home but it has to be done

QueenCardigan · 07/04/2015 14:24

dry it's because everyone tells him he looks more distinguished and authoritarian at work.
one glad you've had a good time

BlairWaldorfIsGettingMarried · 07/04/2015 14:39

One it feels like you've been there ages! Looking forward to hearing all about it.

Just seen these gold shoes and wish I could have made my bridesmaids wear them - so beautiful!

Glad you're happy with the hair QueenC :)

bettykt · 07/04/2015 21:15

Just jumping in, it's been a busy Easter.

Blair can't believe the big day is on Saturday, how exciting. I'll be raising a glass to you, will get the posh wine out Grin Glad you're taking a suitcase, when I read you were initially just taking hand luggage I was Shock

Karbea saw you Rockstuds, glad you've got your hols sorted.

Shop hope you're having a wonderful time

One glad you had a great time

Well finally the first whole day without the heating on, was a chore day today so wore some black harems with a grey tee and R&B ballet flats, got the ankles out! Think it's time to polish the Pistols, they're looking a bit battered, get them re-heeled and put them away until A/W sob sob.

Gah I'm such a sheep, saw these on pin and yup 5 minutes later bought them, damn you saf whoever you are, you always pin stuff that I like! luckily these were very reasonable and hopefully have saved me from buying some Swedish Hasbeens which are about £100 dearer.

Has anyone worn their flares yet? I haven't worn mine yet, I need the right shoes/sandals.

BlairWaldorfIsGettingMarried · 07/04/2015 21:32

I like those betty, they look like they'd be nice with flares.

Yup we've now paid an extra £40 or so for the case, so relieved. I wasn't too worried about fitting in clothes or shoes, just the liquid restrictions. The worst bit would definitely have been my sterile contact lens solutions, I doubt you can decant them so I have no idea what you're meant to do.

By the way there's 25% off nearly everything at Shopbop with SPRING25 at the moment :) good for denim or MJ handbags.

BrandyAlexander · 07/04/2015 22:48

Hi Blair, glad you got it sorted and paid up! I will sound like a princess with this story but.....I don't regret a single thing about my wedding. It really was the perfect day. Our honeymoon was amazing. However my dh decided after blowing a fortune on the wedding, that he would cut costs on the one thing I asked him to organise which was to do with travel. There was really no need.Hmm

Also, for next time you travel.... have you looked at travel size packs of contact lens solutions? I keep a stock of them for long haul travel. The other thing I have started doing is that I normally have the 2 week lenses but supplement them with one day. I use those for short haul travel if I don't want to check in luggage.

Betty I have someone on pin who must be a mumsnetter who lurks on this thread who has a similar style to me. I feel like I "know" her.Grin
