Well done QueenC more money for something else
Loving the porn Santa
DS has so far told DH about the glass, his birthday card and the surprise cake. Guess my "let's keep things a surprise for daddy's birthday" didn't really sink in Grin

Karbea · 17/04/2015 20:36

Warning: I'm fully aware there are bigger issues in the world than this, such as poverty and famine.

But I'm really really fed up. I really need some clothes and flat shoes for holiday, and I need something comfy to fly in and I just don't seem to be able to buy anything. I'm either looking at cheap cr@p that looks cheap, or expensive things that I just feel guilty buying (dh happily buys stuff hence the rockstuds etc). I tried on 12 things in uniqlo, 7 things in massimo dutti and various other bits and pieces.
I just need a small capsule wardrobe of a few ts, shorts or skirts, leggings or something, maybe some nice trousers, a shirt, cardi, something for my feet.

Sorry for the winge!

Drywhiteplease · 17/04/2015 20:37

And Maz I've Sen your pic at the White party, you look incredible!

QueenCardigan · 17/04/2015 20:37

I caved and bought a new nail polish. I made it 4 months until breaking my resolution Grin but just couldn't resist the gorgeous summery shade. Just painting it on now.

Drywhiteplease · 17/04/2015 20:39

Oh and Mara your dinner party sounds awesome, can I come next time? Smile...... since DH told me you could easily give a dinner party for £30 Shock I've been a bit slack with entertaining

QueenCardigan · 17/04/2015 20:39

karbea what was wrong with the stuff you tried on. Can you take dh shopping with you to ease the guilt?

QueenCardigan · 17/04/2015 20:52

I must have missed the bit about mara dinner party. We're doing one next week do I've been bust pinning summer prosecco cocktails.

LinusDKD · 17/04/2015 20:57

Spit Aidan Turner dry?! Lol!

Not really my type but I do like the guy with the dracula teeth (don't know the actor's name)

But my real LOTR's crush will always be Aragorn/Viggo Mortensen.
Wink

5:2 is really simple: you fast two days a week (500 kcal) and the rest of the week you eat normally.

karbea yes, try and shop with your DH to have a non-biased view of what you try on.

LinusDKD · 17/04/2015 20:59

Lovely shoe porn santa! I might go and put on my new Aquazurra heels just to watch a film with DH

Drywhiteplease · 17/04/2015 21:01

Karbea this is MNV , no apologies needed, this is the thread where we take the phrase " I have nothing to wear" very seriously and give sympathy. If you. Any moan about your wardrobe here where on earth can you?

You need to get rid of the guilt and don't give up, you'll find something. Was it you who was going to do a capsule wardrobe in brown, white and Orange? I love the sound of that.
shop I love your DS, I'm rubbish at keeping surprises secret too, just get SO excited Grin

Karbea · 17/04/2015 21:01

queen dh is good for big purchases, but he'd get bored buying basics. The massimo stuff all looked reAlly see through, so you could see my flabby belly, or the necklines looked weird. The uniqlo stuff I should have tried xs rather than small although the linen shirts hung off my shoulder, maybe I need petite? There were some lovely white trousers but you could really see the pockets which I hate. I think if I'd not frustrated myself in there I could have got my whole wardrobe sorted, but then I had a wobble about whether light orange is really an autumn colour...

Drywhiteplease · 17/04/2015 21:03

Terrible typos tonight.... But I love spitting Aiden, oooooooooh

Karbea · 17/04/2015 21:04

Yes dry that's exactly what I want to do, I thought it would be really easy! but I'm making it really hard!
I've two brown bikinis, a brownish animal print coverup thingy, tan thong sandals (which I don't really like, was going to take my peach ones but they are rip now). I've a orange shift dress for one eve outfit.
So it's a good start...

LinusDKD · 17/04/2015 21:09

Look at those teeth....

(Just Googled him, he's called Luke Evans)

QueenCardigan · 17/04/2015 21:09

karbea any good?

Karbea · 17/04/2015 21:12

linus I bet he's got a £350 night guard ;)

Karbea · 17/04/2015 21:14

queen I think I need a lower neckline due to large boobage

LinusDKD · 17/04/2015 21:16

I do like quirky teeth, I prefer it to this identikit Hollywood smile.

How about these sandals to replace your old ones?

LinusDKD · 17/04/2015 21:18

Crap, link doesn't work. If you choose flat sandals and then choose 'orange' as a colour there are some nice peach/coral sandals.

LinusDKD · 17/04/2015 21:20

Really like these

santamarianovella · 17/04/2015 21:24

queen shame about the top,

shop I rented it from iTunes,

dry I don't think she will mind,Wink, she is still young at heart,

linus you naughty thing! Wearing the aquazura's while the poor man is trying to watch his movie, let him enjoy the movie!! or maybe he will enjoy the sight of the shoes more ,

karbea ,you are muddling it up, and just trying to get it over and done with without giving it proper thought, .. Just breath for a sec, and try not to treat it like vacation disposable clothing, think hard about it.

If you have a nice oversized sweater or cardi you can easily wear them for the flights, just get nice flats, if you can afford the chanel classic ones, then go for it, they are a great buy,and can be worn all year round, you won't regret them,
its much easier to buy a day dress and flat sandals, for example, than thinking about ts,skirts, shorts and what goes with what and so on, if you have favourite stores you like,we can help you choose.

LinusDKD · 17/04/2015 21:32

Don't worry santa, he won't get lucky twice in one day. Grin

Drywhiteplease · 17/04/2015 21:43

karbea have you got some Gigis? You must have Gigis , it's a mnv right of passage.....when I've finished last episode of Homeland on iPad ill have a search for you

Karbea · 17/04/2015 21:44

santa I have seriously under invested in my wardrobe, so realistically, no I don't have a nice over sized sweater or cardi. I think you are right, I'm muddling it up and panicking. We have had so many last minute holidays in the last few years that I've used stuff many times that should have been thrown. Last summer I couldn't spend any money at all, but as I had no t shirts/vests I got some very cheap (less than £5) from primark/h&m but I've thrown them as they had holes in them.
It drives me mental that I've quite a few designer bags and shoes but seriously nothing to wear. Which is why going out shopping with dh isn't a good idea because he would just go into chanel get the pumps and then want to go to lunch, but I'd still have nothing to wear! I'd rather spend that money on middle of the road brands and just get a wearable wardrobe, which I could replace with more expensive bits as those needed replacing.
I kind of feel like someone whose house has burnt down and I just saved all my best things... Louboutin's, chanel, valentino but I'm standing in the garden in my knickers (primark) and bra!!!

Karbea · 17/04/2015 21:46

dry no I don't, I've got some fake children's ones from m&s that dmbl40 found about 3 years ago.
