Had a mad few days, hope everyone is good and belated good luck to Marsha with your new job

Belated welcome home to Shop and One

A few minutes within coming on here, I decided I needed some black courts, major wardrobe gap, was pondering on Florets but opted for Florisa instead with a great LKB discount code GRS15 - it's the Grazia one and gives 25% off

Also bought some JCrew Pixie pants in black quelle surprise!

and have been after a coatigan for ages but missed out on a nice Cos one last winter so went for the same one as Linus I think, In fact I think I am a Linus clone baa baa Grin

So, not exciting purchases but good wardrobe staples I hope.

As soon as the sun is shining I have a major panic about what to wear, the Pistols and Pettys have been packed away so OOTD is white ankle grazer jeans, black Tippi and black Russel and Bromley Charming ballet flats. Basically have swapped charcoal skinnies for white ones, that's my nod to the good weather!

Karbea · 16/04/2015 12:03

Arghh I forgot I really need ballet pumps too. I'm wearing very old gold ones from asos that have stretched so are actually quite dangerous to walk in!

santamarianovella · 16/04/2015 12:44

Really like the hipsterish friends Grin,

queen hope you are feeling better today,

The book looks great, might read it after Im done with gods and kings,

linus I love the marant straight legs white jeans I have, perfect fit, also CE fling is nice.

karbea its better to do actual shopping for a big shop, plan a shopping trip, mid week, its easy when you order one item online, but for multiple purchases its really a big hassle, shop loves the jcrew tees, maybe you can give them a try?

are you looking for a cheapish ballet flats ,just for your trip?

Love the shoes betty, very versatile.

I'm working on a project, and so glad to be with grownups again Wink

,OTTD, is Stella McCartney sweater, marant white jeans, and my trusty trench, still cold here Sad,

shopafrolic · 16/04/2015 12:54

Not as warm here today Santa but still sunny. OOTD More Issues than Vogue tee, shortened MiH Marrakesh, black flat sandals and orange Anya maxi zip satchel which I have renewed love for since holiday

Karbea · 16/04/2015 12:56

santa I'm just really running out of time to actually do a big shop! once I've worked for three hours and taken the dogs out! I'm left with a couple of hours. Yes I'll look at jcrew.

mazjacks · 16/04/2015 13:29

Hey ladies, I know it's not really fashion relevant for me but my son needs some new trainers and I can't decide between Adidas Stan smith or superstars or just to go converse/vans again! Which do you ladies prefer? He's currently got some funky Nike high tops but I want something more summery now Smile x

QueenCardigan · 16/04/2015 14:38

Hi everyone, thanks for the good wishes. I've been fine just having problems with dd again. Dh has also had to go up north to see fil who is in hospital which doesn't help.

Haven't had a chance to catch up on links yet but will do later. Lovely and sunny here again so in fat face lace tee, raw edge ankle length jeans and silver saltwaters. Purchased a couple of things from uniqlo yesterday whilst ordering a tee for dh to cheer me up. Will link later.

mazjacks · 16/04/2015 14:48

Ooh I really want a pair of saltwater sandals but wasn't sure if they were worth getting! Does anyone else have them too and are they comfy, hard wearing etc?? May have to convince hubby they're a 'NEED' rather than a want! I'm going to get the kids some anyway so may order some for me to "try" Grin

Cranagh · 16/04/2015 14:50

Santa, love those jeans.

Linus I really like Rag and Bone jeans, also like the Gap resolution true skinny. I have a couple of pairs and they keep their shape.

The All Saints sale is on, not very summery ordered this sweater and cardigan, not very summery, and have also ordered a few things from Velvet to come over with an American friend in May. No spending now for a while.

Topaz we are moving to Dublin in July, our house should be ready by Oct so will live with my dad in the meantime! Good luck with your sale.

Cranagh · 16/04/2015 14:51

Hope DD is ok, QueenC

Cranagh · 16/04/2015 15:38

Don't know why I wrote "not very summery" twice!

AmberNectarine · 16/04/2015 16:32

Aw man, this weather annoys me - I end up changing about 3 times. Today I started in jeans, sweatshirt and Stans, then into running gear, then into ripped Baxters, tee and white Birkenstock Arizonas. I can't keep up.

mazjacks how old is your DS?

mazjacks · 16/04/2015 16:37

He's 2. He's had vans before which were great because they were quite soft and flexible but wanted to maybe try something different. My daughter who's 4 (5 in August) wants the Adidas supercolor in pink!! x

LinusDKD · 16/04/2015 17:33

Rain here but still 19 degrees. Sad

Thanks for the jeans recommendations santa and cranagh. I have been looking at bargainous premium denim today and I ordered a pair of MiH in the HoF sale. (The Current/Elliot and Rag and Bone I loved weren't reduced enough online Wink )

They are supposed to be skinny but look more like boyfriends to me so I ordered a size 25 like my Jimmies. It's a risk but they were £45 so I took the plunge.

Will link later!

mazjacks I love Converse for my DC but the downside is they can't tie their own shoe laces so therefore can't wear them to nursery.

I saw some lovely New Balance with velcro in the shops for children so I might go for those once they grow out of their current trainers.

Oh and H&M do great Converse lookalikes but with 'fake' elastic laces and a velcro strap at the top. Loads of colours as well.

bettykt · 16/04/2015 18:30

Yy to the H&M children's Converse alikes, I buy them every year for my dc. Cheap as chips and no laces to tie.

shopafrolic · 16/04/2015 18:38

Mazjacks I was going to get DS some Superstars (although that would make us shoe twins). I saw a cute little girl on the flight back in Stan Smiths.... Not much help am I.
In terms of Saltwater sandals I know lots of people rate them on MN. Liberty might have some..... but she's studying. Can't remember..... One of the mums I was with buys the kids ones every year for her DD and DS and loves them.
I took DS to get school shoes today, he's gone up a size so ended up having to get plimsolls and summer shoes too - £90! Needed that like a hole in the head.
I am freezing cold today. Socks and sweater back on tonight.

Interesting concept here to help men shop

santamarianovella · 16/04/2015 19:17

cranagh, I like the AS sweater,

maz dd is almost 4, and she loves Nike ones,

linus like the sound of the mih, link please,

shop, I buy loads of school shoes too, and clothes since both dcs school are non uniform ones, I miss school uniforms,
I was meeting a few people for the first time today, and one of them, complemented me on my" glowy" tan I explained that this is my Italian genes thanks to my dad, and not a tan! As i started talking to the group, she kept saying how tropical i looked, made me feel like a pineapple , Grin, was a bit embarrassing too, lost trail.

Managed to pop into petit bateau to get a few things for dcs, dd is so happy with this, it passed the twirl test, she refused to take it off all evening, says she wants to wear it for the play date tomorrow, and show it to her friends, I just love the straightforwardness at that age Grin

maradesbois · 16/04/2015 19:28

Evening!

No time for proper catch up but wanted to pop in and say hello. Champagne is on ice here, for dinner party guests to arrive, a mix of work and friends but think it will be good. Last minute cancellations mean am going to be left with a house full of food though and we're away for the weekend. Ootd is blue floral silk equipment shirt I wore to the mu with skinnies & bright blue tod's.

QueenC hope all is ok at home. Loved the sound of your outfit today.

Marsha glad new job is good so far, a great first day outfit btw.

Mazjacks I get supergas for ds (4) with Velcro for the laces issue. Am also considering stans as you can get Velcro ones too.

Nice relaxing weekend coming up so will catch up properly then. to all.

maradesbois · 16/04/2015 19:30

waiting for guests to arrive

Oh and my friend recommended that book too plus another one silver linings something. Going to try them both.

maradesbois · 16/04/2015 19:32

the silver linings playbook. Not new but I didn't know it.

LinusDKD · 16/04/2015 19:48

santa pm!

What a weird and maybe mildly offensive word to describe someone's skintone.

A young girl once told me that DS (then a small baby) was a bit 'bazané' which translates as 'swarthy'. Hmm

He has gorgeous olive skin and I don't think she meant any offence and was probably repeating a word she had heard her parents use but I was a bit surprised to hear that word in this day and age.

mara yes, Superga for kids are supercute!

I also bought two dresses for DD at Petit Bateau when we were on holiday and I wish they did them for adults as they are breton dresses. Wink

I bought some Saltwater sandals for DD last summer and they were very sturdy and easy to clean.

shopafrolic · 16/04/2015 19:48

I watched the film of that Mara - brilliant
Have a fun dinner party

shopafrolic · 16/04/2015 20:12

What do people think of these sunglasses please? I tried them in T5 and can't stop thinking about them. Am I going mad?

mazjacks · 16/04/2015 20:35

Thanks ladies.
Maya's first school shoes were from Clarks and they lasted her half a term before the sole started to come away from the front! So we then went for dms and they're lasting her loads better now...I think they'll actually last her into next school year (obviously will need a good polish occasionally!)
Our son desperately needs new footwear. He only currently has 1 pair and that's his high tops! So we're going to have to fork out for new trainers, sandals etc Confused I might look into some saltwaters for me too Grin x

mazjacks · 16/04/2015 20:38

Oh and love those glasses but I love different things like that. i say get them! x
