It's March. Spring is in the air. We are looking forward to losing layers and baring ankles.

This is the volume of the hen do and wedding. Will queen manage to get shop to wear penis boppers Grin. And will we all shed a tear when the beautiful blair gets married.

Following on from here

Welcome back novice. I'm not surprised the DC are excited. Hope you get to rest soon.

Good purchases Blair, the Acne skinnies look great. I have seen the pussy bow blouse in Uniqlo and it is lovely.

I have your original Jimmies Linus Thanks and they are 100% cotton. TBH with the extra few lbs I am carrying I could do with some elastane ;)

Lots of deliveries here today....
These shoes look great on but feel like they would be a bugger to break in, I don’t do painful feet so back they go Sad

A few people commented on this Uniqlo silk top on pin. I ordered medium (my usual size in Uniqlo]] and it is enormous. But I think the small might catch on my hips – it’s probably best for column or apple shapes rather than pear shapes. Colour is lovely, silk quality the same as their shirts – nice but thin. I am rather disappointed as I loved the look of it. If any of you do want to try it I think size down unless you are busty.

Sleeveless silk shirt is a keeper. I love these for layering under jumpers for work.

This short sleeve sweater passes the Amber test – i.e. you put it on when you get it and don’t take it off!! Really like this, very soft and cosy feeling and a great shape.

This French Connection jacket is also a keeper. Was an impulse buy and I wasn’t holding out much hope for it as it was sold out in 12 so I had ordered a 10 but it’s great fit and I think it will be very useful for work or for with jeans and top at the weekend for lunch out etc. Very pleased with it.

Yes there are a lot of autumn colours in the shops!!! It's not helping my attempts to be restrained!

Waves to Novice
OK ladies. Help me please.
I need to plan wardrobe and then DH is taking me shopping to fill gaps on Saturday. We are in Grand Cayman staying at a 5* resort in April. 3 night will be just the three of us, 3 days and nights corporate stuff. I know there is a welcome drinks, and a gala dinner (not black tie). The rest of the resort has no dress code other than one restaurant which is no jeans or trainers. We will be with DH's colleagues and their families. Some more senior than DH. What should I take? Day times will be part beach, restaurant, and some excursions I guess. Help!!! I am panicking.

libertychick · 04/03/2015 21:03

Ok, Shop, let's break this down....

Firstly day time very casual, I had a quick look at the weather and it looks hot - 29C and 66% humidity. You have great legs so for day stuff I would stick with shorts and T-shirts - Hush have some good options such as distressed denim, grey cameo and the Marsielle shorts. With a selection of t-shirts and one (maybe 2) casual dresses - something like the Hush beach dress you are covered for daytime. Actually add in a pair of chinos for excursions.

Then you need 3 swimwear, either bikinis or swimsuits whichever you prefer.

Need to go away and think about evenings and feet!!!

libertychick · 04/03/2015 21:04

I remember last year you had good success with Boden and M&S for swimsuits...

shopafrolic · 04/03/2015 21:13

I've got 2 bikinis and one swimsuit. No need to buy more even though colours aren't ideal. I need one more cover up I think. I have sandals and flip flops. I liked the look of the new Hush stuff so will check it out for daytime. I think most evenings will be on resort. Gala dinner I need cocktail dress, shoes and bag. Other evenings smart enough to meet the CEO and not let DH down but not hugely overdressed either. His bosses wife is Russian so am expecting some dressy outfits! I can't afford to do all designer. Will buy Grazia tomorrow for the Whistles code. I wondered about some wide legged smart trousers that I could dress up or down in the evenings? Aaargh. Need to write lists.

shopafrolic · 04/03/2015 21:15

Love those Marseille shorts

libertychick · 04/03/2015 21:16

What about this Marni dress on Outnet for the gala dinner?

libertychick · 04/03/2015 21:22

Some lovely dresses in All Saints - this one would look great on you and not too £££

libertychick · 04/03/2015 21:26

All Saints Thea dress a bit like the green Whistles one you had?

Drywhiteplease · 04/03/2015 21:27

Shop take your orange sun dress you wore in France last year . I know it's not your colour any more, but I loved it on you.
I love black dresses for evening on holiday. Red lipstick and tan looks fab.
Don't panic, you have time.

Drywhiteplease · 04/03/2015 21:30

The Solendid one, and the black J Preace mini too.

libertychick · 04/03/2015 21:31

Can you do green at all? would look great in a tropical setting.

QueenCardigan · 04/03/2015 21:32

What is dh wearing? Will he and the other blokes all be in shirt/ties? Do you know any other wives that you can ask what they're wearing?

OP posts:
santamarianovella · 04/03/2015 21:35

shop I agree don't panic,

Just keep it simple and laid back, its a resort after all, people won't be dressed to nines all the time,

You have a great figure, you only need a few light sundresses or tank dresses as a cover up,

And please no kaftans, Wink,

shopafrolic · 04/03/2015 21:35

DH is doing the chino and polo shirt thing that they do at American companies. CEO is female. I've only met one of his colleagues and don't know any wives unfortunately. Need to get summer stuff out tomorrow and have a try on and then figure out gaps. Do you think my red Helmut Lang dress might work?

Drywhiteplease · 04/03/2015 21:37

Shop
viscose is breathe able

QueenCardigan · 04/03/2015 21:38

I've just been looking in your 'wardrobe' and was about to suggest the helmet Lang. Also what about the James perse and Joseph? If dh is only do chinos and polo shirt it doesn't sound as if it needs to be too dressy. I've only ever stayed in a 5* resort once and it certainly wasn't dressy.

Yay The Santa is back!

Now I can go to sleep. Night all. Wink

shopafrolic · 04/03/2015 21:44

Love that first All Saints dress too Lib. Will see if there is an All Saints store at Brent Cross. Second one is lovely but I'm worried about turning into a sweaty mess in the heat in polyester. Thanks all. Will have a considered look at what I have tomorrow. Santa no kaftans I promise (lovely to see you) Smile

QueenCardigan · 04/03/2015 21:46

You've got shorts in your wardobe so could you just get a few vest tops in your colours and some sort of cover up/shirt.

Shoe wise, presumably you'll wear havianas or the sam edelmans during the day. You must wear your j crew shoes if they go with a dress?

OP posts:
libertychick · 04/03/2015 21:49

Oops didn't spot that the second All Saints one is poly.

Smile
Drywhiteplease · 04/03/2015 21:50

Are you ok with polyester now? HL red would be perfect (thought it had wool) but would it be too hot ....... Maybe not , Air con is incredible.
I've been trying to find silk dresses.....impossible!Shock

shopafrolic · 04/03/2015 21:51

YY to taking J Crew heels. :)

shopafrolic · 04/03/2015 21:54

No good with poly normally. I have a feeling HL will be too hot. Off to bed now. Lists start tomorrow. Thank you all for being fab x

QueenCardigan · 04/03/2015 21:58

Surely it'll be air conned won't it?
