It's March. Spring is in the air. We are looking forward to losing layers and baring ankles.

This is the volume of the hen do and wedding. Will queen manage to get shop to wear penis boppers Grin. And will we all shed a tear when the beautiful blair gets married.

Following on from here

Lib it was me who wanted broderie anglaise - a top rather than a dress though. Love the look of those shoes - I might try them when they come into stock. Has anyone bought anything from Finery ?

Ellis welcome, I am with everyone else on the Lanvin for the wedding.

Mara I like your CnP dress - great colour. I had my eye on a CnP top but it sold out as I dithered.

However I did get a few things from the outnet clearance - I am never normally quick enough off the mark but have high hopes for this jumper J Brand jeans and fur scarf. I am strangely drawn to this but haven't purchased.

All the trench chat is making me think I should dig mine out. Still a bit chilly for it here though.

Ujj and Dry love that chambray shirt. My local TS is crp otherwise I would go and look for it. Ujj* no worries about the 'rant' (not that it was) - can't really help on the working from home but would imagine you do need to rigidly protect your work time otherwise it can get taken over by MN household stuff.

Good question One (and hope you are feeling better) - I think I would shop more in high end department stores - harvey nichols and ilk - and also matches and net-a-porter full price. I only ever look there in the sales so it would be nice to have free reign there.

I have a question too. There is a woman I see out and about whose style I love (though it wouldn't suit me) - she has a definite 'uniform', usually a hat like a beret, cat's eyes or thick rimmed glasses, bright lippy, tweed coat or trench and masculine shoes like brogues or today Adidas trainers, samoas I think. Is there anyone you see IRL whose style you admire? And why?

You might notice I have been quite on the dungarees front. That is because thin, white denim is particularly unforgiving and I haven't quite recovered yet Grin. I did try a black pair in Next and quite liked them. I like the slouchy, relaxed look of them but think they are a bit of a one trick pony. I am wondering about getting a jumpsuit instead to achieve the same look - Shop will be interested to here how the one you ordered works out.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 12/03/2015 12:49

Oh and good luck to Marsha too

BerniceBobsHerHair · 12/03/2015 13:02

Apologies for all the posts, but Shop I think the white dresses you linking would look nice with sandals like this

Ellisisland · 12/03/2015 13:08

Hope interview is going well marsha

Ujj I work from home occasionally and I'm the same. The house has to be spotless before I can get any work done.

One I would go full reign on net-a-porter Smile

shop love those McQueen pics

Cranagh · 12/03/2015 13:21

Shop I find Comptoir true to size. Are you going to get the AH bag in another colour? I love my red one.

Dry, Joseph have a gorgeous trench, expensive so waiting for a discount but it is half the price of the Burberry Kensington (which I also really like).

Nice work on the Outnet, Bernice!

One, I would go to Matches/Nap in the unlikely event that the budget improved significantly.

Boden Lille shoes just arrived but I am going to return them. They are a bit too fussy for me. I have not kept anything this week, I must be coming down with something. Wink

Good luck, Marsha!

QueenCardigan · 12/03/2015 14:05

Hi all, another migraine today. Ugh. Just had a quick skim through to catch up.
one I'm not sure that I could ever bring myself to pay some of the designer prices but would probably go high end high St eg jigsaw, resiss etc and maybe just some lower end designers as well as a Chanel bag.
bernice coukdnt open your finery link but my friend had some shoes from there and was happy. Can't think of anyone right now who I admire irl but there must be someone.

Lots to do before school pick up so will catch up later.

ujj I work from home a lot and one of my key skills is the ability to walk away from the mess and leave it to DH Smile. That said, he is SAHD so I just think of it as his job.

Bernice Grin at dungareegate! I would be terrified to try those on. On your question one of Mum's I chat too at nursery pick up has great style. She wears lots of different fitted coats, nearly always with a leather buckled belt, polo neck tops, skinny jeans and knee high flat boots. Always has sunglasses, leather gloves and great hair.

one I'll answer both ways! If I had lots more money I would shop at Matches/ Selfridge's/ NAP. If I suddenly had a big hit in income I would stick to H&M, New Look for jeans and shoes and charity shops.

Lovely watch Blair. I'd be annoyed too at the honeymoon not being booked especially when you have so much to organise. He could be worried about getting it wrong. An intervention may be needed!

Marsha how did the interview go?

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 12/03/2015 14:10

No Ujj he is just being lazy I think. He told me he wouldn't mind booking something last minute, so I am just focusing on doing everything else!

One I would say my budget is middling, so if it went up loads I'd do the same as everyone else and buy high end designer, but if it went down I think I'd start shopping more on ebay and charity shops and in the sales in places that are cheap to begin with but good quality, like Uniqlo.

Bernice I don't have any style inspiration day to day as I drive to work and don't see any random people. I love it when I go to London as you see so many more people, stylish or otherwise Wink

libertychick · 12/03/2015 14:11

Bernice I haved ordered from Finery London yet but I am considering couple of things. The Enbrogue blogger says she is impressed with their shoes

libertychick · 12/03/2015 14:13

Sorry that should be 'have not'

OneLittleLady · 12/03/2015 14:44

bernice I see a lot of women who are classically styled, lots of long glossy hair, tans, plenty of good quality bling and simple clothes like well fitting jeans, vests or simple tees and blazers with low/mid range designer bags like michael kors but I just don't admire it as they all look like clones. They look fine, very neat, very tidy and it is stylish but it's not MY style and I could never see myself in it. I very much admire Ambers style, it's a lot like my own but more high end than mine. I admire that she doesn't care what anyone else thinks and wears what she loves, even if it does have pineapples or flamingos all over it. I even admire the dungarees and would wear them myself if i were slimmer than i am

Ellisisland · 12/03/2015 15:42

The All Saints dress arrived but I am sending it back as the neckline didn't suit me. Gorgeous dress though so disappointed with that one.

shopafrolic · 12/03/2015 15:55

Oh no! Sorry Ellisisland

Ellisisland · 12/03/2015 15:59

It is so lovely shop I was tempted just to keep it so I could look at it in the wardrobe and just admire it Grin

shopafrolic · 12/03/2015 16:14

I'd love it even more if it was slightly thicker fabric but then I guess it would be less drapey Hmm

MarshaBrady · 12/03/2015 18:46

Evening, crazy day. Well not that crazy but busy for me Grin

Interview went well, we both thought it would be a good idea to do a team meeting too, so back next week. I don't want any hasty decisions either! after last time, for those that remember

Ok I'm here, dh is out. This thread is mine for a read.

shopafrolic · 12/03/2015 18:47

DH has just had a win on the Premium Bonds!!!!!! Which means he is no longer having a strop at the amount of money I have spent in the last 5 days!

Ellisisland · 12/03/2015 18:54

That's a good result shop! Grin

Glad the interview went well marsha

AmberNectarine · 12/03/2015 19:15

I take it that it wasn't the standard £25 my mum seems to get every month then shop!

Have had a shocker of a hangover today - still ropey now tbh. What was supposed to be relatively sedate drinks locally turned into clubbing until 3am. Sigh. Poorly played as I am heading off to Bristol tomorrow lunchtime and really should have been a bit proactive today.

Am planning an early night - will blitz the to do list in the morning. NO WINE TONIGHT.

In purchase news I bought This dress for a St Patrick's day party. Am in two minds about it - will see what DH thinks.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 12/03/2015 19:17

That's great news shop! Well done Marsha.

Have just had my hair cut for the first time in embarrassingly long, luckily was in and out in half an hour. After the wedding I need to decide what to do with it...

AmberNectarine · 12/03/2015 19:19

And thanks one, I'm honoured - I like your style too. I meant to ask - are your Star Wars vans ones? I really wanted them and regret not buying them now. You'd have been proud of me today - I layered a tiny gold pineapple necklace with a tiny silver flamingo one. Both Estella Bartlett, great quirky jewellery brand and not too pricey for silver/gold.

Drywhiteplease · 12/03/2015 19:40

Evening all. Am in a bit of a state of shock....have finished GoT season 5 and feel a bit bamboozled Grin

Right......questions.

One I guess I'd get the key classic pieces rather than go to particular shops (Burberry trench, Louboutin courts, YSL tux jacket, Chanel bag in black, black and cream ballerinas and a jacket, VW corset dress, D and G signature wriggle dress, Hermes Birkin, Cartier watch, Red Valentino dress, Philip Tracey hat, Armani trouser suit, a Prada dress, a Tiffany tennis bracelet,.....must have left something off)........ Day to day though I need machine washable so I'll stick with where I shop now Smile

Bernice no particular person. I just admire women in their late 40s who look effortlessly stylish, unlike me, who looks like I've put in a lot of
effort........

ujj I've got the opposite "problem" . DH has started working from home and I really don't know how to approach it at all. Asked if he'd mind putting the washing out and was told I mustn't interfere with his work time Hmm. Guess him being around working doesn't mean he's around and free. Hmm

Drywhiteplease · 12/03/2015 19:45

And something from Gucci

OneLittleLady · 12/03/2015 19:46

Amber those are my exact ones. I cut the elastic out of them as they were so so tight they were making my feet numb and I don't have particularly big or wide feet but once the elastic was out, they were fine. thank you, I feel really chuffed that someone gets my style and i love the sound fo your necklaces, I might have a gander at that jewellery maker, i've fancied a flamingo necklace for a while now

santamarianovella · 12/03/2015 20:07

dry I thought GOT release date is in April Confused
