Which trainers are fasionable to wear with skinny jeans these days? I can't get on with my converse ones as they really hurt my feet.

Ash, if your budget permits - like Converse but made from supersoft leather.

Amazing.

NormHonal · 16/02/2015 22:39

(disclaimer: have no idea about the "fashionable" part.)

Otherwise...Vans? superga? Also supposed to be comfy. My Vans are fab.

polyhymnia · 16/02/2015 22:40

Another vote for Ash.

QueenofLouisiana · 16/02/2015 22:42

I can't wear Converse either- too flat for my feet and makes my (usually dormant) plantar fasciitis flare up.

Watching this thread with great interest.

oigetoffmycheese · 16/02/2015 22:43

I have adidas superstars and love them

Lagoonablue · 16/02/2015 22:44

New Balance are very in. Real old style trainers but come in various colours. I like them.

Koalafications · 16/02/2015 22:47

I like these m.office.co.uk/view/product/office_catalog/5,21/1233422630

I don't know if they are 'fashionable' but I really like them

Koalafications · 16/02/2015 22:49

Oh the link doesn't work! Blush

It was to some New Balance trainers.

I see have x-posted with Lagoona on those, though.

cece · 16/02/2015 22:53

I think Addidas Stan Smiths?

perfectlybroken · 16/02/2015 23:36

I've just ordered palladium flex, I don't do skinny jeans but reckon they're go well.

yazzy85 · 17/02/2015 00:50

Thanks ladies for the suggestions, I'm going to google these and see which ones will suit my feet :)

Have you tried going up half a size with your Converse?

I did this after my first pair ripped my heels to shreds and the newer pair were much better. They still rubbed slightly for a couple of days but nothing on the scale of the first pair.

I usually wear a 6. Size 6 Converse are huge on me. The first pair were a 5, second pair are 5.5 and fit perfectly.

Also watching with interest as I wear nothing but skinny jeans.

yazzy85 · 17/02/2015 01:36

ParyMoppins the converse are ok in the length for me but after walking in them the front of my feet get very bad red marks and painful...probably too narrow. I am liking the look of the Adidas superstars, they seem to be wider fitting.

ParyMoppins · 17/02/2015 01:49

yazzy85 ahh I see. I must have been mad to buy another pair. My heels were a state for months.

I love Superstars but think they might look better with a looser trouser like combats etc?

Adidas Stan Smiths are slimmer looking and might suit skinny jeans better?

That is just my thoughts as I've owned both of the above in the 00's and wore them both mainly with combats/parachute pants with a wider leg..

ParyMoppins · 17/02/2015 01:52

Btw, think the Superstars are probably a wider fit than the Stan Smiths, but iirc, they are quite hard/heavy at the front (thinking of your toes getting sore!)

WhereIsMyFurryHat · 17/02/2015 08:17

Yes, stan smiths are the trainer of the moment.

Zara actually have a nice plain white stan smith style trainer which are good if you don't mind non branded.

WhereIsMyFurryHat · 17/02/2015 08:18

Oh and on the width from, superstars are really wide, I hae them in my usual size and they're actually a bit too big due to the width, adidas are usually narrow but these are definitely not.

Skivvywoman · 17/02/2015 08:44

Nike roshe (super comfy)
Nike hurrache (like walking on air)
New balance
Stan smiths
Converse (like someone said go up a size)
Adidas superstars
Nike air max

Just turn your skinnys up to the ankle

CMP69 · 17/02/2015 08:52

I love Rocket Dog but have no idea if they are fashionable old gimmer

makingdoo · 17/02/2015 08:52

Another vote for New Balance. Very comfy and seem to be trendy at the minute.

VixxFace · 17/02/2015 08:54

Stan Smith are definitely not the trainer of the moment.
With my skinnies I wear air max , addidas originals or Huaraches. sometimes my leather converse.

WhereIsMyFurryHat · 17/02/2015 09:03

We'll agree to disagree vixx I personally think huaraches and air max were done a couple of years ago phoebe philo

LesleyKnopeFan · 17/02/2015 09:08

I have owned nearly all the above, ash, converse, nikes, Stan smiths etc and I just feel like I'm stuck in the past if I wear them again.

Spring footwear always has me in a spin, still need socks, so pumps/loafers are out. Trainers, I dunno, I'm 40ish, am I too old?

yazzy85 · 17/02/2015 09:15

I am deciding between these two, what do you guys think?

puma suede classics? quite a few bloggers (and myselfGrin) wear them at the mo if you want to avoid Stan Smiths.

Come in a load of different colours if black isn't your thing.
