Still going strong as we head into 2015. Not a chance I can beat the vol 50 intro from the lovely Dry so I won't even try. Lots of newbies have joined the fun, why don't you? Come tell us your sales splurges. All welcome for fun fashion chat.

Mara love the Woolrich in the red, I am so in love with my navy one, think it was the best choice for me as an investment coat. Flamingo not sure of you'll see them on sale, I know Anna didn't put theirs in the sale and haven't seen them reduced anywhere else either.

Lib good luck for the party, I agree as long as sugar features in the party bag kids are happy Smile

I don't have a wish list for 2015 (yet), am abstaining as much as possible!

AmberNectarine · 04/01/2015 17:45

I don't think I need or even particularly want anything. Maybe a nice 'going out' (sounds so wank) top, though I have just bought a Helmut Lang one and an Equipment shirt, so maybe not!

Have this week ordered such random items as a leopard print bandeau dress, Marant ear cuffs and sequinned shorts so clearly my plan to buy considered, classic items in 2015 is going well!

Have a dinner on Saturday night and am resisting temptation to buy something new - will prob wear leather leggings and either new J Crews or J Choos.

Topazandpearl · 04/01/2015 18:18

Lots of lovely links but I will also be passing on the 70s look (having worn it first time round!)

I agree with others mara, the red coat is gorgeous and so is the navy.

I feel so sorry for minilib and other DC who get upset by these things. My DD was like that and I had to fast forward over scary parts of Disney movies or her.

I don't have any planned purchases at the moment.

Like Dry I am not going completely dry, I will allow myself a weekend glass of wine (or two Grin). I have ordered the Hemsley book karbea and have already pinned some of their recipes. I have the Deliciously Ella book on pre-order, which also looks good. DH is going back on the 5:2, but I think I will see how the low sugar/no refined carbs approach goes first.

Back to work tomorrow - it will feel like shifting time zone by 2 hours, so I expect to be pretty tired! Good luck to everyone else back at work/school tomorrow.

maradesbois · 04/01/2015 18:32

Ds all better, phew. Thought he'd caught my horrible bug but so glad it wasn't, he only weighs 14kgs and can't afford to lose any.

Just been out for a walk to get some air. Just by chance we passed by Smythson who always do a good sale. Not the most exciting purchase but I got this pencil case. Am starting an important course this year & it will get lots of use. The berry colour is lovely, they had a mini cross body bag in the same leather which was v tempted by but am being good and focusing on coat fund.

LinusDKD · 04/01/2015 19:00

A decent pencil case is very important mara, I seem to remember from when I was at school Wink

Love the red Woolrich coat but the navy Moncler is gorgeous as well. I love mine and wear it a lot. Only problem is that I have lost all three buttons and have yet to sew them back on.

lib I hope your DD had a great birthday party today.

Another 'style resolution' for 2015 (apart from finding the perfect jacket) is buying less cobalt/royal blue things. Ever since discovering I look good in that colour I have been going a bit mad and buying virtually nothing but that colour.

I would like to find some nice red jumpers but as I am superfussy about my reds, that might prove tricky.

Hugs to all the little ones that are feeling poorly!

maradesbois · 04/01/2015 19:01

Sleep I looked at Anna too but no discounts as you say. Think am going to either get the navy parka or wait for a code or further discount, can't spend £££ on a red coat.

maradesbois · 04/01/2015 19:09

Linus I have definitely rekindled my love of the back to school feeling & shiny new stuff for starting the new term! In the late 80s/early 90s it was all about naf naf and benetton though. Speaking of school, One good luck!

Karbea · 04/01/2015 19:12

topaz yes deliouslyella looks good too. I've roast chicken tonight, but I'm going to hold off the roast potatoes might have one healthy though. Need to try and remember to save the carcass to make the broth as the hemsley recipes all seem to require this.

LinusDKD · 04/01/2015 19:15

Oh I remember NafNaf and Benetton! And I used to like Chipie and Best Company as well but then I got lured to the dark side and became a wannabe Grunge icon. Grin

Good luck one!

santamarianovella · 04/01/2015 19:29

Oh yes! Back at My school pencil cases were really important, the more unique the better!

mara glad your ds is doing better, I have a navy moncler, it's a couple of years old, love it to bits, from what I've seen so far Canada goose is all the rage, but they look too sporty IMO,

linus I remember you liking a marant etoile jacket from SS?, and you were concerned about the fabric? I bought a red tweed one last spring and the fabric is fine, very soft. Will def wear again ,

topaz I have the deliciously Ella app, but I didn't like it much, I like the green kitchen stories more, also their desserts app is seriously good. The chocolate pots recipe , raspberry crumble and coconut ice cream Are all fab,

QueenCardigan · 04/01/2015 20:29

I used to love Benetton-all those cardigans. It won't suprise you to know that I had a few! For me going back to school each sephemeral meant a new bag. That always excited me more than a pencil case.

I've just ordered a spiraliser-one of those gadgets that makes corgetti etc which is basically corgette (or any veg) spaghetti. Seems to be the new thing to have and I think I'll use it a lot.

ST style mag also talks about men and the 70s trend so expect the men in your life to also be wearing flares by the end of the year!

Happy birthday miniliberty!

Topazandpearl · 04/01/2015 20:42

Thank you santa that green kitchen stories website looks really good.

Topazandpearl · 04/01/2015 20:47

Snap QueenC I used my new spiraliser for courgetti tonight for this recipe. It was a hit alround and I will definitely do it again.

Karbea · 04/01/2015 20:57

I love courgette spaghetti, but the most amazing thing is cauliflower rice, I was so amazed the first time I had it, I don't really like cauliflower but as rice it's great!

muddlingalongquitenicely · 04/01/2015 21:11

Cauliflower rice is delish, i have seen recipes for cauliflower pizza base as well which would suit me as i have an allergy to yeast and im tempted by a spiraliser (heading to amazon to have a browse)

Drywhiteplease · 04/01/2015 21:11

I'm psychologically scarred by the lack of Bennetton in my youth. Went to posh girls' school, all the flicky girls wore the stuff. Too expensive for us. Always coveted it. When I got a Saturday job first thing I did was save up for a Bennetton scarf.....now I always pop in to the Oxford Circus branch when I'm in London. Ahhhh the beautiful piles of neatly coloured sweaters.....and I still get a thrill especially because I know I could buy the lot Smile
Nafnaf was huge when I lived in France as a student.

Drywhiteplease · 04/01/2015 21:18

I wore "trendy" French clothes sent buy my aunts...crimple NE jumpsuit in tomato red with a daisy zip, a hideous afghan coat think Beatles hippie phase French "trendy" clothes in the 70s were out there and very different to what your average 7yr old in Home Counties were wearing.

Feel free to psychoanalyse me..........funny that I couldn't wait to buy my own clothes and ended up working for a fashion retailer in some of London's biggest stores?

bettykt · 04/01/2015 21:33

Another Benetton fan here in my teens, saved up my Saturday job money and bought this Benetton rugby shirt worn with jeans slightly too short to show off my Burlington argyle socks, that bloomin' badge thing used to stick in my ankle, and my tassle burgundy loafers, I used to think I looked the dogs testicles Grin I think I was aiming for the American preppy look at the time Hmm

I also remember wearing NafNaf and Chipie too.

Drywhiteplease · 04/01/2015 21:53

Betty YES I had those socks and the loafers......

BrandyAlexander · 04/01/2015 21:57

Hi all, I am exhausted after long day of being on the go with 10 visitors descending on us unannounced late afternoon. Bed time was awful, I was shouty, and am annoyed with myself because the last 2 weeks have been so lovely. Back at work tomorrow.Sad

Lib, hope miniLib had a lovely day. I am doing a fancy Frozen party with characters etc for dd but honestly I think all the kids will just be excited to see their friends and have the sugar fest!

Benetton and naf naf were mythical things to me in the 1980s. Desperately wanted anything by them...was never gonna happen!

I definitely don't think I could have been fashionable in the 1970s, QueenCs links just didn't do anything for me. Might give being fashionable in 2015 a wide berthGrin

libertychick · 04/01/2015 22:20

Party was a blast! Although I got some raised eyebrows when I produced a pack of poundshop 'party horns'. The noise was something else!!! There was a great buzz as all the parents got on really well too so it felt great. All the liberty clan are happy tonight!

Drywhiteplease · 04/01/2015 22:32

Yey go Liberty and mini

BrandyAlexander · 04/01/2015 22:44

Fab LibSmile

BrandyAlexander · 04/01/2015 22:56

Who is a size xs in Jaegar? I have a top that is too big for me. I don't think it's a real xs ifyswim as normally (in the UK) xs is the right size for me. It's maybe a small. Not sure of Jaegar sizing but I am normally a 6 in most places so I reckon it is an 8. Could suit a 10 too as it's stretchy.

Anyway it's never been worn and still has tags on (hoping Sleep doesn't see that as I am supposed to learn to ebay!). It's 50% wool and 50% polyester (presumably the lace down the arms) and original price of £180 (from the tag!Blush) so hopefully of decent quality. If you want it (for free!) just pm me and I will post it to you.

Just posted this question on wrong thread, has anyone washed J Crew Tippi?
Am tempted by sale but not by dry clean onlySmile
