Still going strong as we head into 2015. Not a chance I can beat the vol 50 intro from the lovely Dry so I won't even try. Lots of newbies have joined the fun, why don't you? Come tell us your sales splurges. All welcome for fun fashion chat.

You would have driven me mad at work Lib - I always forget stuff and am crap with numbers. Not sure I can see colour either though. My issue is I've always been in the middle of everything - fairly good across the board in most subjects, specialising in none. If I look at my loves now though (as hobbies) it's fashion, garden design, interior design. Perhaps I pursued the wrong career! Hmm

One after googling some of the terms mentioned and then reading more stuff i know what cp i would like to be but not sure i fit in to it

MarshaBrady · 11/01/2015 18:14

One you have a distinctive style, I wonder if dramatic gamine for you. Although I don't know this stuff very well. So am guessing.

Muddling are you on pin?

muddlingalongquitenicely · 11/01/2015 18:16

Yep on pin just started really trying to put together boards i things i like.

Karbea · 11/01/2015 18:30

Is this at all helpful?

Karbea · 11/01/2015 18:32

I guess I'm gamin or ingenue, but I'm not boyish big boobs and I hate frills.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 11/01/2015 18:40

I've definitely linked that elsewhere on the board before Karbea (on one of the fornightly scheduled HoC argument threads Wink) but looking at it today does help actually, so thank you!

muddlingalongquitenicely · 11/01/2015 18:43

That helps a lot thanks looks like im a romantic with a dash of classic

Drywhiteplease · 11/01/2015 18:58

liberty my numeracy skills are KS1 and no higher, it's true Grin.

Navy blue wearers.....what colour do you wear on your legs? Although I've been looking at navy skirts I'm not sure how well they will fit into my winter wardrobe when I need leg coverage.

My DM is chic too. Always said "in our family we have big bottoms" hence the lifelong complex. Also has an annoying way of saying ""ooooh you look smart" in a not positive way. Now I just say "oh thanks, I love this dress/top" rather than getting upset about it.

OneLittleLady · 11/01/2015 19:02

There's a couple of people in particular who make snide comments about my style or their belief in my lack of it. they say things like 'are you really going out in public dressed like that?' or 'why did you buy that, it doesn't go with anything' they don't seem to get that I just have a very different style to them, the people i'm thinking of are definitely very classic so worlds away from me. it gets a bit wearing tbh. Oh and apparently, I shouldn't wear tees because I have bigger than a cup boobs Hmm

QueenCardigan · 11/01/2015 19:06

Massive roast dinner and now feeling stuffed.
dry I can't think of many blonde celebs. The trouble with any blonde celeb is that they probably aren't natural.
Loving all the cp chat and lib has probably hit it on the head about dry and santa

My dm pretty much let me wear what I liked. If she doesn't like something she'll say so but I admire that honesty. She pretty much hated my docs and long skirt phase and absolutely despaired when I went out daily in 3 cardis rather than a coat in winter whilst at 6th form.

QueenCardigan · 11/01/2015 19:10

dry Taylor swift-intelligent song writer, Olsen twins-successful business, Rosie h-w - despite being a model she comes across as intelligent in interviews I've read

Drywhiteplease · 11/01/2015 19:16

We have Angela Merkel, Theresa Ma, Maggie Thatcher, Boris J and all of his family.............

LinusDKD · 11/01/2015 19:17

How about Hillary Clinton queenc?

OneLittleLady · 11/01/2015 19:38

my Dm was totally supportive of all my fashion choices, eve the worst of them. She saw it was just a way of expressing myself and even if she really didn't like something, she'd find a way to say something positive about it. Not that I think she was just saying it to make me happy, I think she just saw how low my self esteem was anyway and didn't want to further push it down so tried to show her support however she could. I really miss her

QueenCardigan · 11/01/2015 19:38

Was Maggie thatcher blonde? I always thought of her more as red.

Forgot to answer the navy question. If I was wearing a navy dress then I would wear black tights and shoes. But if I had a navy skirt on with a different coloured top then I think black may look funny.

LinusDKD · 11/01/2015 19:42

I usually wear black tights but if I can find navy tights that match the navy skirt/dress I'll wear those.

Karbea · 11/01/2015 19:51

Jk Rowling is blonde.

santamarianovella · 11/01/2015 20:01

What ever you do, don't wear nude courts dry, I like to wear navy with black, or if you have leopard print flats they could work too, tan?

Today's chat has been really fascinating, and for the record, I'm not against the idea of colour or style consultancy, or against anyone who offers it,
It's nice to have different opinions on one subject, otherwise it will be really dull,

santamarianovella · 11/01/2015 20:03

Wooops! Read your post all wrong dry, navy for winter is tricky ,black tights?

QueenCardigan · 11/01/2015 20:06

one I love your style because it's so quirky (and I love the new hat). I'm not sure why anyone feels the need to be rude about it.

sleepwhenidie · 11/01/2015 20:07

Loving all the CP chat, like Dry and Santa I remain unconvinced but can see how it can help guide you if you feel you need it, I am of course madly curious to know what my CP and colour thing would be but would hate to feel I had to follow any rules Grin

Loving the clubbing chat too, I was a bit of a lightweight, was at Leeds in the Back To Basics heyday but never hardcore. I'm with Mara and Marsha on the cocktails Smile. Have to say I am enjoying hibernating a bit in the evenings at the moment though, after spending the whole of the holidays with family, eating and drinking too much I'm loving training hard in the day and cooking something healthy for a cosy night in with DH. We binned the babysitter on Friday! Having said that we are out for theatre and dinner for my birthday tomorrow.

One I can't believe you were in Camden and didn't let me know, we could have had a coffee together! How was Friday?

OneLittleLady · 11/01/2015 20:15

I'm so sorry Sleep if I'd known you were nearby, I'd have said! Friday was great, thank you for asking

Thank you QueenC I knew you'd love my hat!!

MarshaBrady · 11/01/2015 20:18

I'm the same as Sleep, but mildly curious for cp and colours but on balance I don't think I do want to know Grin as I think it would over rule how I think now. How exciting about your birthday, I'm sure I'll be back tomorrow to wish you hb.

Training hard sounds fantastic, I'm really enjoying running. I love it below 8 degrees though. Colder the better!

Dh and I did lunch on his lunch break the other day as I had a long break between meetings. It was so indulgent (in terms of cost per hour) I had to have a break this weekend.

Drywhiteplease · 11/01/2015 20:26

I'm thinking navy skirt might not work for me at all as a winter garment, much as I love the colour, and it would fit in with all my tops. I can do navy dress for work in summer. Perhaps I'll ditch the idea, am doing ok with grey, black, camel as basic work skirt colours.
